Grammar Module: An Intervention for the Grade 8 Students Language Barrier in Writing
The previous study made by the researcher reveals that the central issue of the students’ use of the English language is the use of grammar itself. All areas of grammar are considered as a difficult and complicated structure of English even for the professionals and students involved in the usage of the said language. Grammar can be seen in both speaking and writing, but the two have the same level of grammar difficulties for some people. This action research used one section from the Grade 8 students who were also the primary respondents from the writing pre-test before the start of this research. The section was selected intentionally with the use of the purposive sampling technique, and it had a total of thirty (30) students inside the given classroom. This research also utilized all the possible sources of data information such as the recorded responses from the pre-test and post-test writing activity. The data was extracted by employing a careful scanning of the texts using the thematic analysis of a qualitative design in research. It was found out that the grammar difficulties of the students from the selected areas were too high before the intervention, but it had a significant decline after the intervention was implemented and produced data with significant relationship. These findings reflected that the implementation of the intervention material containing all the selected grammar areas had contributed to the enhancement of the Grade 8 students’ writing, thus, an output like this module can be beneficial for the students’ learning
Predicting Brain Stroke Using Machine Learning
On the basis of the GBD (Global Burden of Disease) 2013 Study, this article provides an overview of the global, regional, and country-specific burden of stroke by sex and age groups, including trends in stroke burden from 1990 to 2013, and outlines recommended measures to reduce stroke burden [1]. The mind functions as the primary upper body organ for humans. A stroke is a medical condition wherein the blood vessels in the brain burst, resulting in brain damage. The interruption of blood and nutrient supply to the brain might cause symptoms. It is considered a medical emergency and might result in long-term neurological damage, complications, and sometimes death. According to the World Health Organization, stroke is the leading cause of death and disability globally. Early recognition of symptoms and seeking medical attention will reduce the disease’s severity. This paper uses deep learning and machine learning techniques to predict the possibility of a brain stroke occurring early-on. A reliable dataset for stroke prediction was acquired from Kaggle to test the effectiveness of the algorithm. The Random Forest classifier achieved the highest classification accuracy of 97% among the machine learning classifiers

Writing to Speaking: Using Journal Writing as a Scaffold to Gain Confidence in L2 Speaking
In the Philippines, quite a number of educational institutions are still very strict about the English only Policy (EOP). Students, teachers, staff and stakeholders are prescribed to use the English language as a medium of communication, and non-compliance to this would me a violation of the rule. However, students in a community whose first language is not English, poses a resisting behavior towards the use of the language. Researchers have found that a possible explanation to this is the fact that the speakers lack the faculty to use the language. Though many Filipinos have regarded a certain prestige to this language, one cannot discount the fact that using it in a community with different L1 creates an uncomfortable feeling towards students whose language of everyday communication is not English. In order to address this concern, I would like to look into the possibility of utilizing writing as a scaffold for confident oral communication
Risk Factors Associated with Prevalence of Porcine Cysticercosis in Slaughtered Pigs at Piggery Abattoir in Northern Senatorial Zone of Taraba State, Nigeria
Porcine cysticercosis is under-reported particularly in Nigeria, despite the reportedly high prevalence associated with life-threatening health implications. This study was aimed at determining the prevalence of porcine cysticercosis and risk factors related to the prevalence of infection in the study locations in the North Senatorial Zone in Taraba State. A questionnaire survey was carried out to collect information on the Socio-demographic characteristics of participants for anthropometric and cross-sectional studies employed on the prevalence of infection. A total of 350 pigs each were examined at four locations (Nukkai, Iware, Lamangoro, and Jalingo bye-pass) in both dry and rainy seasons and were analyzed by ANOVA. The results showed that 52.3% are not aware of cysticercosis. Preference of cooking, short cooking 90.3% vs 9.7 grilled meat. 36.9% vs. 63.1% were intensive and semi-intensive during rainy seasons. Infections across the study locations show that male pigs were most prevalent at 36.9% (120/350) and 9.7% (34/350) in female pigs. Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that in dry seasons 9.7 % (34/350) and 63.4% (222/359) in rainy seasons. There was a significant difference (P<0.05) in the prevalence of infection among male pigs in Nukkai and Iware whereas, infections in females across the study locations show a higher significance deference at (p<0.05). There was, however, a higher significant difference (P<0.05) in infection by intensive management whereas semi-intensive significance was observed in Nukkai (p<0.05%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis indicated that more prevalence of cysticerci of T. solium, was recorded in dry seasons 9.7 % (34/350) and 63.4% (222/350)) in rainy seasons. Risk factors associated with the prevalence of porcine cysticercosis in intensive and semi-intensive study communities were 57.1% (200/350) and 36.9% (129/350)

Broad Spectrum Efficacy of Seenthil Churnam in the Management of Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are prevalent worldwide, with an estimated 11% of the global population contracting at least one infection annually. The emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens due to the overuse and misuse of antibiotics necessitates alternative therapeutic options. Seenthil Churnam, a traditional Siddha medicine derived from Tinospora cordifolia, has been historically used for its antimicrobial properties. This study aimed to evaluate the broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity of Seenthil Churnam against major UTI pathogens, including MDR strains. Seenthil Churnam was procured from IMPCOPS Pharmaceuticals, Chennai. Antimicrobial activity was assessed using the disc diffusion method against 40 clinical strains, including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. Zones of inhibition were measured and compared to standard antibiotics (amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin) and antifungal (fluconazole) discs. Seenthil Churnam exhibited significant antimicrobial activity against all tested strains. Zones of inhibition for bacterial strains ranged from 15.5 to 19.0 mm, while the zone for Candida albicans was 20.5 mm. The efficacy of Seenthil Churnam was comparable to that of standard antibiotics, particularly against MDR strains. Seenthil Churnam demonstrated broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, supporting its traditional use in Siddha medicine for treating UTIs. Its effectiveness against MDR pathogens positions it as a potential alternative or adjunctive therapy for managing UTIs, warranting further clinical investigation
