Employees play a crucial role in an organization’s success, contributing their skills, knowledge, and commitment to achieving business goals. Their dedication makes them indispensable, yet remuneration alone may not be enough to sustain motivation. Organizations must implement strategic initiatives to encourage employees to consistently perform at their best. This study aims to assess the impact of motivational schemes on employee performance at EMD Technologies Philippines Inc., a manufacturing company in Calamba, Laguna. Using a Quantitative Research Design with a Descriptive Correlational approach, the study examines the relationship between motivational schemes and job design. Stratified Random Sampling was employed to categorize respondents into lower- and middle-level employees. The research is anchored in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, highlighting the motivational factors affecting performance, and the Job Characteristics Model (JCM), which enhances job satisfaction through effective job design. Findings indicate a stable workforce with extensive tenure and specialized roles, providing valuable insights into employee engagement. However, lower scores in love and belonging, self-esteem, and self-actualization suggest areas for improvement in fostering interpersonal connections, confidence, and professional growth. Additionally, limited skill variety highlights the need to enhance job diversity. To address these concerns, the study recommends sustaining strategies such as employee development programs, retention initiatives, health and wellness efforts, recognition programs, career advancement opportunities, diversity and inclusion efforts, empowerment in decision-making, workplace safety improvements, continuous evaluation, and fostering a supportive organizational structure. Implementing these strategies can enhance motivation, job satisfaction, and productivity, ultimately driving long-term success

    Get PDF
This literature review analyzes the past, present, and future of CT (CT) scans with a focus on their carcinogenic qualities. This paper investigates concerns about radiation exposure and its association with cancer risk, supported by mul-tiple studies linking CT scan radiation to increased cancer incidences. Findings have linked CT scans with increased cancer incidence, yet there is limited dis-cussion on how advances in technology mitigate these concerns. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the risks and emerging innovations that reduce radiation exposure. This case study will analyze advances that may be possible and attempt to predict the path of a CT scan. For methodology, we used a systematic review of peer-reviewed articles from databases such as PubMed, DOAJ, and The Mayo Clinic. We combined results from different papers and developed on the topics listed above, providing a sys-tematic review and a probe for discussion. Findings indicate that individuals exposed to CT scans before the age of 22 have a 24-48 percent increased risk of hematological malignancies. However, emerging techniques such as low-dose CT (LDCT) protocols have reduced radiation exposure by up to 32 percent while maintaining diagnostic accuracy. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and photon-counting detectors further enhance imaging quality while mitigat-ing risks. This paper highlights CT scans’ dual role as a technological break-through and a potential health risk. Findings indicate that improved technology and patient safety protocols are lowering risk, yet future research should focus on optimizing radiation dose reduction strategies while ensuring early cancer detection remains effective

Price, Taste, and Convenience: A Comparative Study on School-Based and Commercial Pastil Vendors

    Get PDF
Pastil is a staple and popular food at Mindanao State University-General Santos City (MSU-GSC), especially among students. It specifically compares how Price, Taste, and Convenience influence their decision when choosing between vendors located inside the school and commercial vendors located outside the campus. The researchers used a descriptive-comparative method and gathered quantitative data through surveys. These surveys were given to students both in-person on paper and online using Google Forms, based on a convenience sampling technique. The findings were analyzed using descriptive statistics, such as averages and percentages. The results showed that convenience was the most dominant factor for students. They overwhelmingly choose school-based vendors because they are close to classrooms and dorms, which is essential for busy schedules or short breaks. Students even said they are not likely to leave campus just to buy pastil, even if they have extra time, making outside vendors mostly a "backup option". The taste was surprisingly not a major deciding factor; the results were balanced, showing students had mixed preferences between the two types. For price, students were found to be value-driven, looking for good "value for money" rather than just the lowest cost. The study concluded that students ultimately balance all three factors Price, Taste, and Convenience to find the best combination for their specific needs at that moment
