New Methods of Maintenance and Cleaning of Firefighter’s Protective Clothing by Dry Cleaning
Get PDFThe condition of personal protective equipment (PPE) worn by firefighters has always been of paramount importance. In this article, the authors briefly describe the work of firefighters, based on analysis of domestic and international literature and their own professional practices, and then the types of contamination of clothing and the health risks they pose. A number of new technologies for the complete removal of contaminants from protective clothing are already on the market, but due to their higher cost, they are unlikely to fully replace the traditional cleaning currently used, but can be an excellent complement to current cleaning processes. The authors then proceed to examine the innovative technological solutions that are currently available in the field of cleaning firefighter protective clothing, before finally proposing the introduction of certain methods

We live in a dynamic world where factors such as overpopulation, resource exploitation, climate change, and many others accelerate these processes, impacting our daily lives on national, organizational, and individual levels. Change does not necessarily carry a negative connotation; however, we seek to avoid the negative impacts while approaching positive outcomes with confidence. One prevalent and perhaps most effective way of preparing for and evaluating possible outcomes of change is through risk management. The foundation of risk management lies in assessing risks to determine which outcomes are expected, acceptable, and which processes need to be addressed. Nevertheless, risk assessment always depends on the evaluator, and the objectivity of the evaluator significantly influences the end result.Hérakleitosz ókori görög gondolkodó mondta, hogy „az egyetlen állandó a változás maga”. Technological advancements have made it possible to conduct precise and effective military operations while minimising the risk to human lives. These technological tools play a central role not only in reconnaissance but also in offensive operations, logistical support, and increasingly in the application of artificial intelligence (AI). In the future, robots and robotic systems may become key players in military conflicts around the world, raising ethical questions for which we are not yet fully prepared. Humanity’s goal must be the controlled and responsible use of artificial intelligence in all areas of life, including warfare.A robotok és a drónok megjelenése alapjaiban formálta át a hadviselés természetét. A technológiai fejlődés lehetővé tette, hogy a modern katonai műveletek során az emberi élet kockáztatásának minimalizálása mellett pontos és hatékony bevetések valósuljanak meg. Get PDFAssault artillery was born due to I World War battle ground experiences. The young branch proved his necessity for support fight of infantry during II World War. Organising of the new branch was started in spring of 1942 in Hungarian Royal Defence Forces, and the troops were accountered with modern Hungarian and German assault guns. First organised assault artillery battalion was the 1. assault artillery battalion leaded by captain József Barankay. This battalion participated in fight against Soviets between April 1944 and February 1945, while they earned a serious fame. This article shows the biographies of officers of command battery of the battalion.A rohamtüzérség az első világháború harctéri tapasztalatai alapján született meg. A fiatal csapatnem a második világháború során bizonyította szükségességét a gyalogság harcának támogatása terén. A Magyar Királyi Honvédségben 1942 tavaszán kezdődött el az új csapatnem megszervezése, amelyet korszerű magyar és német gyártmányú rohamtarackokkal szereltek fel. Elsőként jött létre Barankay József százados vezetésével az 1. rohamtüzér osztály. Az osztály 1944 áprilisa és 1945 februárja között vett részt a szovjetek elleni műveletekben, és ezalatt komoly hírnévre tett szert. Get PDFA key aspect of the competition between China and the United States is the deep ideological divide between the two nations, which stems partly from their different worldviews. This article focuses on China\u27s role in the emerging new world order, with particular attention to the world order theories most commonly discussed in the literature. By comparing the Tianxia philosophy with the American Just War theory in today’s politics, the study explores possible points of conflict in the visions of the two superpowers. The paper concludes that the America First policy of the Trump administration is likely to further sharpen the conflicts of interest, while not necessarily providing adequate responses to the challenges posed by China.A Kínai Népköztársaság és az Egyesült Államok közötti versengés egyik meghatározó eleme a két ország mély ideológiai ellentéte, amely részben eltérő világnézeteikből fakad. A cikk Kína szerepére fókuszál a formálódó új világrendben, különös tekintettel a szakirodalomban leggyakrabban vitatott elméletekre. Összevetve a Tianxia és az amerikai igazságos háború elméletének megjelenését napjaink politikájában, a tanulmány feltárja a két nagyhatalom elképzeléseiben látható lehetséges ütközőpontokat. Get PDFFirst-year students admitted to the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the Ludovika University of Public Service take part in a five-week basic training course, which includes firearm training. In my thesis, I am looking for its development opportunities. I present the process of selecting and preparing student trainers, and the implementation of firearm trainings. Based on the results of pedagogy, educational theory and training science, I make suggestions to make the above processes more efficient. I present incorrect and correct teaching methods; I try to promote the development of first-year students’ physical fitness and I point out the possibilities of expanding the responsibility of student trainers. I emphasise that the effectiveness of the basic training can be increased several times with the help of a few simple methods, which is absolutely necessary for the long-term development of the students.A Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem Rendészettudományi Karra felvételt nyert első évfolyamos hallgatók hathetes alapkiképzésen vesznek részt, amelynek része többek között a lőkiképzés is. Dolgozatomban ennek fejlesztési lehetőségeit keresem. Bemutatom a hallgatói kiképzők kiválasztásának és felkészítésének folyamatát, a lőkiképzés foglalkozások végrehajtását. A pedagógia, a neveléselmélet és az edzéstudomány eredményei által javaslatokat teszek a fenti folyamatok hatékonyabbá tételére. Bemutatok helytelennek és helyesnek vélt oktatói módszereket, ezáltal igyekszem elősegíteni az elsős hallgatók fizikumának fejlődését, valamint rámutatok a hallgatói kiképzők felelősségének bővítési lehetőségeire. Get PDFThe Organisation Armée Secrète (Secret Army Organisation, OAS) was a prominent French terrorist organisation that operated during the 1960s. The organisation’s establishment is inextricably linked to the Algerian War. A significant proportion of the French military elite and the French population resident in Algeria opposed the country becoming an independent state. Following the protracted nature of the conflict, the newly elected French President, Charles de Gaulle, resolved to conclude the War in Algeria. This, of course, meant that Algeria would no longer be a French colony. Nevertheless, the decision was not universally accepted. In particular, the French settlers in Algeria and members of the army and the Foreign Legion felt that some action was necessary to maintain Algeria’s status as a French territory. These forces ultimately gave rise to the Organisation de l’Armée Secrète (OAS)
Functioning of the Police under Martial Law: The Experience of Ukraine
Get PDFThe military conflict in Ukraine has created unprecedented challenges for law enforcement agencies, which have had to adapt to new conditions and threats. During martial law, the police perform not only their traditional functions of maintaining public order and combating crime but also contribute to national security and civil protection. This paper examines the key aspects of the Ukrainian police’s work under martial law, analysing their adaptive strategies and the effectiveness of their actions. With the onset of hostilities, the police faced a number of new tasks, such as maintaining law and order in combat zones, evacuating civilians, protecting humanitarian corridors and cooperating with military units. A significant role is played by the coordination of actions between various law enforcement and security structures, which allows for rapid response to threats and maintaining stability in regions affected by the conflict.
The adaptation of the police to martial law conditions includes the implementation of new working methods, personnel training and the use of advanced technologies. For instance, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and surveillance systems helps to monitor situations on the ground and quickly transmit information to command centres. Psychological support for law enforcement officers working in stressful conditions is also a crucial aspect, contributing to their resilience and effectiveness. Ukraine’s experience in addressing these challenges can be valuable for other countries facing similar situations. Analysing the adaptive strategies of the Ukrainian police during martial law allows for the identification of best practices and the development of recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in crisis situations

Institutionalised Tools for Addressing the Climate Crisis in Cape Coast, Ghana
Get PDFThe climate crisis presents significant challenges for many African cities, impacting their economies, ecosystems and the livelihoods of their inhabitants. This paper explores into the various tools and techniques that local government administrations are employing to adapt to these challenges. Using Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly in Ghana as a case study, a combination of focus group discussions and informal interviews was held with key stakeholders. The findings revealed a multifaceted narrative of vulnerability and adaptation, highlighting the importance of education and capacity building in institutionalising effective climate governance. Ongoing engagement with stakeholders is also considered crucial for refining existing strategies and discovering innovative solutions that address the unique challenges posed by climate change in the region.The paper concludes that incorporating informal practices often deeply rooted in local culture can enhance formal policy initiatives. This integration fosters a more comprehensive and effective approach to climate governance at the sub-national level
