Full text linkObjective: For small enterprises,self-regulation is essentially the ability to compensate for inefficiencies or to seek solutions that improve operational efficiency within an operational system, responsible for ensuring the principles of sustainability and efficiency in product manufacturing or provision of a service. In the era of widespread computerization and automation of information collection and processing, one of the key self-regulatory challenges is the integration of artificial intelligence into management processes. Therefore, the aim of the article is to present the potential application and benefits of incorporating artificial intelligence into the operational processes of a small enterprise – specifically, a bakery.
Method: The method used is the case study method.
Results: In the case study, the expert system, reflecting the production schedule based on the sequence of operations, responds to disruptions by generating a new schedule. This allows the system to return to resume work according to the original production plan, with the shortest possible delay in task execution.Cel. Dla małych podmiotów istotą samoregulacji staje się umiejętność kompensacji niesprawności lub poszukiwanie rozwiązań o wyższej sprawności funkcjonowania w ramach systemu operacyjnego, odpowiedzialnego za budowanie zasad trwałości i efektywności wytwarzania produktu lub świadczenia usługi. W dobie powszechnej informatyzacji, komputeryzacji, automatyzacji procesów gromadzenia i przetwarzania informacji jednym z największych wyzwań samoregulacyjnych jawi się wykorzystanie sztucznej inteligencji w procesach gospodarowania. Zatem celem artykułu jest ukazanie możliwości zastosowania i korzyści wynikających z „zaprzęgnięcia” sztucznej inteligencji w procesy operacyjne małego przedsiębiorstwa - piekarni.
Metoda. Zastosowaną metodą jest metoda case study.
Wyniki. W analizowanym przypadku system ekspertowy, odzwierciedlający harmonogram produkcyjny oparty na sekwencji wykonywanych operacji, reaguje na powstałe zakłócenia, wyznaczając nowy harmonogram produkcyjny. Umożliwia to powrót systemu do pracy według wcześniejszego planu produkcyjnego, przy możliwie najmniejszym opóźnieniu w realizacji zadań
Zasada niedyskryminacji jako podstawa do przebicia zasłony korporacyjnej
Full text linkThe author discusses the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 3 June 2021 (C-624/19), issued in the case of K E.A. v. Tesco Stores Ltd. The author analyzes in detail the legal basis of the judgment, paying particular attention to Art. 157 TFEU and the possibility of invoking the above provision before national courts in a dispute regarding work of the same value performed by employees of different genders employed in different establishments, provided that there is a common (single) source of financing the employees’ remuneration. Based on the judgment glossed here, the author analyzes the arguments used so far by the CJEU regarding the principle of equality in employment. The author also draws attention to procedural issues raised by the CJEU, such as the burden of proof in pay discrimination cases. Finally, the author highlights the consequences of the judgment for equal pay policy in the EU and suggests that the concept of piercing the corporate veil may be a tool in enforcing the principle of equal pay.W artykule omówiono wyrok Trybunału Sprawiedliwości Unii Europejskiej z dnia 3 czerwca 2021 r. (C-624/19) wydany w sprawie K E.A. i inni przeciwko Tesco Stores Ltd. Dokonano szczegółowego przeglądu podstaw prawnych wyroku, zwracając szczególną uwagę na art. 157 TFUE oraz możliwość powołania się na powyższy przepis przed sądami krajowymi w sporze dotyczącym pracy o takiej samej wartości wykonywanej przez pracowników różnej płci zatrudnionych w różnych zakładach, o ile istnieje wspólne (jedno) źródło finansowania wynagrodzeń pracowników. Bazując na glosowanym orzeczeniu, przeanalizowano dotychczas stosowaną przez TSUE argumentację dotyczącą zasady równości w zatrudnieniu. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na poruszone przez Trybunał kwestie proceduralne, takie jak rozkład ciężaru dowodu w sprawach o dyskryminację płacową. Na koniec podkreślono skutki wyroku dla polityki równości płac w UE oraz zasugerowano, że koncepcja przebijania zasłony korporacyjnej może być narzędziem w egzekwowaniu zasady równości wynagrodzeń
Mental health of intellectually gifted individuals: Investigating the nonlinearity of the relationship between intelligence and general mental health
Full text linkBackground:Despite intelligence being generally related to better mental health, individuals with extremely high levels of intelligence (also often referred to as gifted) are frequently viewed to be socially maladjusted, emotionally unstable, and eccentric. Although this view has existed for decades, the scientific data on this subject are highly inconsistent and suffer from several methodological limitations.Participants and procedure:In this study, to test whether the relationship between general intelligence and general mental health is nonlinear in such a way that at extreme values of intelligence the relationship turns from positive to negative the data from eight waves of the 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70) were used (N range from 2,870 to 7,984), with intelligence being assessed at age 10, and mental health being assessed with several different measures at ages 16, 26, 30, 34, 42, 46 and 50. Quadratic regression, as well as spline regression, which divides the dataset into intervals, creates a separate regression for each interval and then smooths out the breakpoints, was used for analyses.Results:The results showed that the nonlinear models generally fit the data better than the corresponding linear models.Conclusions:At high values of intelligence, individuals might begin to experience unique issues affecting their mental health, despite their mental health being at potentially the same or higher level than those with average intelligence. Intellectually gifted individuals have a large potential to have a positive impact on the functioning of the whole society. Grit: a psychological predictive factor among NEET youth
Full text linkBackground:Grit is essential to favour perseverance and passion to achieve long-term goals. Our study aimed to explore the features of individual aspects of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) as personal attributes.Participants and procedure:Participants numbered 159, were in the age range 18-35, and 54.1% were female. A structured web-based interview was conducted using a dedicated online form.Results:We investigated the self-perception of NEET regarding the learning and practical abilities. NEET were found to be confident in practical activities. The working interest of NEET seemed to be very high for public employment, but not smart working.Conclusions:NEET youth needs to be more involved in a developmental perspective to discover their own cognitive and behavioural abili-ties in order to be confident and focused on achieving personal growth in social engagement and the labour market.Background:Grit is essential to favour perseverance and passion to achieve long-term goals. Funkcjonowanie psychospołeczne dziecka z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu: metody i formy wsparcia. Studium przypadku
Full text linkThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the psychosocial functioning of a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and to present effective methods and forms of support that can influence their development. In the context of the growing number of ASD case diagnoses, understanding the specific challenges faced by children and their families becomes crucial. The article presents a case study of a preschool-aged child who struggles with, among other things, difficulties in establishing social relationships, communication and adapting to changing situations and environments. An analysis was made of recommended therapeutic methods and forms, such as speech therapy, sensory integration therapy (SIT), social skills training (SST) and early childhood developmental support (ECDS) and their importance on the development of social skills in a child. The conclusions of the paper indicate the importance of individualizing support and working with the family and specialists to improve the quality of life of children on the autism spectrum and their integration into the social environment. The article can be a valuable resource for therapists, educators and parents looking for effective strategies to support children with ASD.Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza funkcjonowania psychospołecznego dziecka z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu (ASD) oraz przedstawienie skutecznych metod i form wsparcia, które mogą wpływać na jego rozwój. W kontekście rosnącej liczby diagnoz przypadków ASD, zrozumienie specyficznych wyzwań, przed którymi stają dzieci oraz ich rodziny, staje się kluczowe. W artykule przedstawiono studium przypadku dziecka w wieku przedszkolnym, które zmaga się między innymi z trudnościami w nawiązywaniu relacji społecznych, komunikacji oraz adaptacji do zmieniających się sytuacji i warunków otoczenia. Dokonano analizy zalecanych metod i form terapeutycznych, takich jak: terapia logopedyczna, terapia integracji sensorycznej (S]), trening umiejętności społecznych (TUS) i wczesne wspomaganie rozwoju (WWR), a także ich znaczenia dla rozwoju umiejętności społecznych u dziecka. Wnioski z pracy wskazują na znaczenie indywidualizacji wsparcia oraz współpracy z rodziną i specjalistami, w celu poprawy jakości życia dzieci ze spektrum autyzmu oraz ich integracji w środowisku społecznym. Artykuł może stanowić cenne źródło wiedzy dla terapeutów, pedagogów oraz rodziców, poszukujących efektywnych strategii wspierania dzieci z ASD
Nieprzetarty Szlak. Metoda harcerska w resocjalizacji na przykładzie 68 Drużyny Harcerskiej „Wesołe Włóczęgi” im. Marii Grzegorzewskiej
Full text linkThe article discusses the activities of the 68th Scout Troop of the “Nieprzetarty Szlak” (The Un- cleared Route) named “Wesole Wióczęgi” (Merry Wanderers) after Maria Grzegorzewska, operating within the Janusz Korczak Youth Educational Center in Kwidzyn. Their activities serve as an example of effective social rehabilitation methods. The authors present research conducted within the troop's environment, focusing on collaboration with the leadership of the ZHP Kwidzyn Scout District and the girl scouts participating in the program. The analysis covers various educational aspects of the “Nieprzetarty Szlak”. Research reveals the range of tools offered by this form of scouting activity, which support the personal and social development of young people who often struggle with difficult life experiences. The collected data indicate active participation and use of these proposals by young people, indicating that they improve their self-esteem, ability to cooperate and cope with life difficulties. In this context, the scout troop's activities play an important so- cial rehabilitation role, helping participants develop a sense of responsibility and shape positive social models that may contribute to improving their life and social situations.Artykuł dotyczy działalności 68 Drużyny Harcerskiej Nieprzetartego Szlaku „Wesołe Włóczęgi” im. Marii Grzegorzewskiej, funkcjonującej w Młodzieżowym Ośrodku Wychowawczym im. Janusza Korczaka w Kwidzynie, której działania stanowią przykład skutecznych metod resocjalizacyjnych. Autorki przedstawiają badania przeprowadzone w środowisku tej drużyny, koncentrując się na pracy z kadrą Hufca ZHP Kwidzyn oraz harcerkami, które uczestniczą w zajęciach. Analiza obejmuje różnorodne aspekty wychowawcze Nieprzetartego Szlaku. Badania ujawniają ofertę narzędzi tej formy działalności harcerskiej, które wspierają rozwój osobowy i społeczny młodych osób, często borykających się z trudnymi doświadczeniami życiowymi. Zebrane dane wskazują na aktywne uczestnictwo oraz korzystanie z tych propozycji przez młodzież, wskazując, że poprawiają ich samoocenę, zdolności do współpracy oraz radzenie sobie z trudnościami życiowymi. A study on some biological parameters of the population of Chondrostoma angorense Elvira, 1987 (Actinopterygii: Cypriniformes: Leuciscidae) in the Devrez River, Türkiye
Full text linkUnderstanding the biological characteristics of fishes is essential for conserving native, particularly endemic species and providing accurate recommendations for fisheries management. In Türkiye, studies on the endemic Ankara nase, Chondrostoma angorense, are rare, and no data are available on its reproductive biology. This study provides some biological parameters of C. angorense, including population age structure, growth, and reproductive characteristics, from the Devrez River. Fish specimens were sampled monthly from April 2020 to March 2021 using a cast net. The overall ratio of males to females was 0.98:1, with an age distribution of I–V age groups. The length–weight relationship and von Bertalanffy growth function were estimated as log W = −1.9586 + 3.0039 log (L) and Lt = 32.64 (1 − e−0.109 (t + 1.870)), respectively. The maturity ogives indicated that 50% of males and females reached sexual maturity at total lengths (TLs) of 14 cm and 16 cm and weights of 25 g and 34 g, respectively. C. angorense had a protracted spawning season lasting from March to June. The absolute fecundity ranged from 1015 to 10 664 oocytes, with an average of 5130. Full text linkThe purpose of this paper is to compare three countries: the United States, Poland and Switzerland in terms of regulations on the right to own guns and to show how these regulations are correlated with the incidence of gun crime. The article also covers the issue of school shootings as a common phenomenon in the United States, its causes and effects on society, along with specific examples. The study takes a closer look at the history of three different school shootings in the United States, cites statistical data and considers whether the scope of the right to own guns significantly affects the incidence of school shootings.Celem niniejszego opracowania jest porównanie trzech państw: Stanów Zjednoczonych, Polski oraz Szwajcarii pod względem regulacji dotyczących prawa do posiadania broni oraz ukazanie, w jaki sposób przepisy te są skorelowane z występowaniem przestępstw z użyciem broni. This condition arises from the crisis of masculinity, the disappearance of a transcendent or spiritual framework, and the alienating mechanisms of late-capitalist consumer culture. Rather than offering a purely literary diagnosis, Houellebecq develops his critique through a hybrid methodology that combines sociological observation, philosophical reflection, and narrative experimentation. His novels function as laboratories in which the tensions of modernity are staged and dissected, often through provocative exaggeration and irony. Yet Houellebecq’s outlook is not entirely bleak: he also points to the possibility of a paradigm shift in which authenticity, compassion, and love regain primacy. Full text linkVideo games serve as a dynamic platform for storytelling, immersing players in interactive narratives that challenge their ethical and moral perspectives. This study examines the illusion of choice in the video game “Detroit: Become Human” by Quantum Dreams, a narrative-driven game that explores themes of discrimination, oppression, and rebellion of androids. While the game appears to offer moral dilemmas that shape the story, its design constrains player agency, guiding them toward predetermined outcomes. Although it fosters empathy for its oppressed android characters and draws parallels to historical injustices, it largely overlooks gender inequality, reinforcing traditional gender roles instead of subverting them. By analysing how the game’s mechanics, framing, and developer biases influence moral decision-making, this paper argues that “Detroit: Become Human”, standing as an example of the medium, raises essential political and ethical questions but remains limited by its own structural constraints. The findings highlight the need for greater inclusivity and intersectional representation in gaming narratives, ensuring that discussions of power, justice, and identity go beyond surface-level engagement.Gry wideo stanowią dynamiczne medium, angażujące graczy w interaktywne narracje, które podważają ich etyczne i moralne wartości. Niniejszy artykuł analizuje iluzję wyboru w grze „Detroit: Become Human” studia Quantic Dream – narracyjnej produkcji poruszającej tematy dyskryminacji, opresji i buntu androidów. Choć gra sprawia wrażenie oferowania dylematów moralnych kształtujących przebieg fabularny, jej konstrukcja ogranicza sprawczość gracza, prowadząc w stronę z góry zaplanowanych zakończeń.
