It begins with an introduction that outlines the topic, followed by a brief biography of Sallam Ibn Sulaiman, and then an analysis of the linguistic phenomena in his reading. The study adopts an inductive-analytical approach by tracing Sallam’s reading in the books of Qira’at to identify its linguistic features, classify them, and provide linguistic explanations. The research confirms that Sallam Ibn Sulaiman’s reading includes phonetic, morphological, and syntactic phenomena. Among the phonetic phenomena are assimilation and the tendency to lighten pronunciation by reducing vowel movements. Morphological phenomena include simplification, while syntactic phenomena involve variations in case endings (nominative, genitive, accusative) and tanween (nunation). The study also highlights that Sallam Ibn Sulaiman largely conformed to the linguistic features of his environment

Syntactic Coordination in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus

This paper explores the syntactic and stylistic use of coordination in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus (2003), focusing on three major types: syndetic, asyndetic, and polysyndetic coordination. Coordination, a syntactic process linking grammatical units of equal rank, is a significant tool in literary texts for achieving cohesion, emphasis, and emotional resonance. Drawing from Systemic Functional Linguistics and Generative Grammar, this study examines how Adichie employs coordination to enhance her storytelling, convey characters\u27 emotions, and underscore key themes such as repression, freedom, and cultural transitions. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, excerpts from the novel are analysed, with attention to dialogues, descriptive passages, and climactic scenes. The analysis reveals that syntactic coordination, marked by the use of conjunctions like and, but, and or, dominates the text, creating narrative coherence and mimicking natural speech patterns. Asyndetic coordination, characterised by the omission of conjunctions, is strategically used to accelerate pacing or heighten tension. Polysyndetic coordination, where conjunctions are repeated for emphasis, appears less frequently but intensifies emotional weight. The findings demonstrate that Adichie’s use of coordination is not merely functional but deeply tied to her narrative style and thematic concerns. Syndetic coordination often portrays unity, asyndetic coordination reflects fragmentation, and polysyndetic coordination underscores extreme emotions. By weaving these syntactic elements into her prose, Adichie creates a dynamic and immersive reading experience, solidifying her position as a masterful storyteller in contemporary Nigerian literature

This article aims to unravel how Robert Lepage, in Le Projet Andersen, a drama that combines youth literature and music, achieves this integration. The important question here is: how does Robert Lepage put music at the service of youth literature? The general hypothesis states that the Canadian author uses the material elements of music, its effects, and its aesthetics to construct youth literature. In light of intermedial theory, three axes are addressed in the text: the material presence of music in the play, the effects of music in the work, and the stakes of the co-presence of these two arts—youth literature and musicCet article démontre comment Robert Lepage, dans sa pièce de théâtre Le Projet Andersen, combine littérature de jeunesse et musique.

Modern educational curricula, based on constructivism and competencies, aim to improve the teaching and learning of any subject by emphasizing its didactics. Considering that the most recent educational reform curricula in our country are categorized as modern, according to their designers, this study sought to evaluate the first generation of middle school mathematics curricula (2003) to determine the extent to which mathematics didactics contributed to the development and production of the second generation (2016). The study employed a descriptive-analytical method and used a multi-faceted lens (epistemological, didactic, and pedagogical). The findings revealed a notable presence of certain ideas and tools from mathematics didactics in the second-generation curricula, which appeared more consistent and aligned with the constructivist and competency-based approaches compared to the first generation. However, due to the misuse of some of these ideas and the omission of other valuable ones, the study concluded that moving toward a third generation of these curricula is essential, with the aim of further development and enhancing the quality of mathematics teaching and learning at the intermediate education level

This article explores caricature as a genre that accommodates a range of interpretative discourses. It serves as both a point of departure and convergence for various forms that evoke the possibilities of semantic construction, seeking realization in the realm of art and drawing. The caricature aims to reproduce facts and events through drawing and its various tools. Our objective is to uncover the latent meaning—the abstract face of a concrete world. We seek to trace the effects that the artist’s brush leaves on the self and to highlight the tools that govern caricature, linking the act of speaking with the act of depiction: word, voice, composition, meaning, lexical units, and iconic configurations that shape the subjects and worlds of the illustrations. Based on these general principles, we attempt to analyze a selection of cartoons related to the topic of COVID-19, reading them as a discourse of illness—emerging in diverse contexts and conditions—as a focal point where a series of utterances and descriptions are revealed through drawings, images, and words that reflect dreams, politics, ethics, and authority

Arabic interpretation in recent decades has been a research activity that has succeeded in establishing a theory of interpretation with different orientations. It draws its foundations from traditional interpretive thinking and benefits from what its modern Western counterpart has recently offered. It is now seen as a cognitive interaction between a present text and an absent one. This is what makes it a complex, difficult, and elusive process. Considerable efforts have been made to regulate it in order to avoid the fragmentation of meaning or misinterpretation, while maintaining a commitment to go beyond the apparent meaning of the text. Within the scope of infinite linguistic competence, interpretation has been linked to rhetoric to ensure its soundness—neither excessive nor deficient. This cognitive, Bazaic alternative seeks to rid interpretation of the distortions caused by uncontrolled reading. It emphasizes the conditions required of the interpreted text and the competencies of the interpreter, drawing inspiration from text science to support its project of rhetorical interpretation. In this light, this paper seeks to examine the achievements of this interpretive endeavor, rooted in its traditional heritage path and informed by modern Western scholarship, and to explore its potential for expanding and rationalizing meaning in both linguistic and non-linguistic discourse
