    No full text
This study aims to highlight the importance of the interactive relationship between the teacher and his learners and between the learners with each other. It sometimes requires making adjustments to the existing educational methods. This depends mainly on verbal interaction within the classroom. This study adopted the approach of describing and analyzing verbal classroom interactions. By focusing on direct inspection using (video) and utilizing Flanders’ system for measuring and analyzing verbal classroom interaction, without neglecting to compare the observed percentages with the standard percentages of the ideal teacher model to answer the problem: What is the effect of using systems for measuring verbal classroom interaction in developing the skill of Oral expression? The most prominent results reached are that teachers do not realize that the activities of the learning classroom are distributed according to specific ratios to provide a successful and fruitful classroom interactive atmosphere. The evidence for this is the wide difference between the overall ratios observed in the classroom and the agreed-upon standard ratios. This imbalance calls for attention to be addressed through teacher training practically in many fields

This article is based on a reading of the tragedy literature that resulted from the events of the Arab Spring through the book "Nineteen Women" by the Syrian writer Samar Yazbak, where we will focus on the content of the text and the template that the writer saw when she deviated from the writing path from the novel to the documentary narrative. We will also try to answer the questions imposed by this text, which is composed behind it, about the reason for its reluctance to narrate and leave the entire field to some narrators who lived the event and Aden to talk about it in freedom and reference. The aim is to identify the most important differences between narrative as a generic genre and the novel as a type of it, as well as the reasons for choosing the writer or turning her from the novel to the documentary narrative

Rhythm as a Counter-cultural Political Instrument of Empowerment in James Brown’s ‘Say it Loud, I‘m Black and I’m Proud’

Like other art forms, the tensely-rhythmical genre of funk music has often been touted as a powerful weapon to counter race-based regimes and carry overt political messages during the tension-filled period of the civil rights movement in America. More particularly, at the end of the 1950s and the beginning of 1960s, funk music, which evolved from Rhythm and Blues, jazz and soul music, inspired the African American community to break free from the fetters of institutional racial segregation and give voice to the downtrodden black race. Funk music is typified by its powerfully-rhythmical tones which echo much dynamism and energy. The song’s strong bass lines, drumbeats, syncopated beats and the recurrent refrain all along the song: “Say it Loud, I’m Black and Proud” create rhythmic patterns that awaken black consciousness and emphasize black pride. Accordingly, that rhythm is a carrier of power is the quintessence of the present paper. It is a medium of expression that conveys life-changing thoughts. In this song, rhythm is featured as an effective strategy to re-construct the new Black identity and chart a new life wherein racial equity prevails. Brown’s rhythm-driven patterns are a prelude to a new life African Americans have long been waiting for

    No full text
The health workforce constitutes essential component of the effective service delivery of any health system. Today, Nigeria’s health system is faced with the trajectory of human capital flight, coupled with significant number of skilled personnel migrating to other countries for greener pastures. The trajectory poses challenges to the Nigerian society and therefore deserves attention from the academic community. The article, therefore, aimed at examining the magnitude, drivers, and consequences associated with human capital flight in Nigeria’s health system. The article employs world system theory of migration, which was developed by Immanuel Wallerstein, as the theoretical framework. Regarding methodology, the article employs a secondary source of information, where the author sourced, reviewed and organized relevant articles and materials to advance the thrust of the subject matter. Findings from the existing literature reveal that the scourge of human capital flight in Nigeria has created additional burdens for the public health system, coupled with poor service delivery and health outcomes. The article, therefore, recommends a paradigm shift such that various stakeholders in the country put in place efficient measures toward mitigating the trajectory of human capital flight in Nigeria’s health system so as to respond to the health needs of the citizens

The widespread pandemic (the Coronavirus) forced educators worldwide to change their instructional methods away from the conventional modalities, which requires a switch from the well-established face-to-face modality to an online one. To this end, the purpose of this study is twofold: to discover what attitudes actors in the pedagogical sector hold towards the underlying dimensions of readiness and satisfaction, and to pinpoint the fruitful roadmap implementation of the new online learning protocols.  By exploring the readiness of students and the satisfaction of teachers, a holistic understanding of the factors that contribute to successful online education emerges. The findings of this research will offer valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders, helping to shape a more effective and equitable educational system for the future. To undertake this study, the researcher has opted for mixed-method research that manifests in interviews with teachers and academics and a questionnaire with students at Saida University (in Algeria). The obtained results showed that the study participants demonstrated positive attitudes and significant levels of readiness, willingness, and salient satisfaction toward online learning. Furthermore, this worthy transition is a golden opportunity to ingrain in the minds of practitioners that strategic decision-making, critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience are among the fundamental tenets that determine the nature and future of a new online learning era
