Get PDF[e]-motion brings together contributions from diverse fields of the arts exploring the interplay of motion, emotion, and digitalisation in the arts. Expanding on discussions from the 1st Graduate Conference on Science and Technology of the Arts, the book examines how the digital era transforms our relationship with the body, materiality, and perception. It addresses the impact of digitalisation on artistic production and reception, including the evolving role of physicality and materiality, the redefinition of audience engagement in cultural institutions, and the socioeconomic inequalities arising from differential access to technology and cultural participation. The volume also considers the implications of digitalisation for social and artistic activism, questioning how activism can transition from physical to virtual spaces. The book opens with two essays: Monsters and Measures: Two Approaches to the Essay Film by Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner, which examines how their work challenges the standardising tendencies of science and technology, and Doug Bailey’s Art Archaeological Interactions, which explores creative ways to deconstruct artefacts and archives to uncover sociocultural narratives. Contributions from Constança Babo, Rosinda Casais & Filipa Cruz, Milan Kroulík, Federica Manfredi & Chiara Pussetti, Ana Barroso, Frederico Henriques & Mário Bruno Pastor, Beatriz Albuquerque, Daniel Tavares, Carolina Ferreira Baptista, Filippo Deorsola, and Anna Rebecca Unterholzner enrich the discussion

No full textProject Hymenaeus sets out to develop a comparative study of the legislation in force in Portugal and Norway, in the field of domestic violence, with the aim of improving the legal response, especially in criminal law, to this serious social problem, both in Portugal and Norway, ultimately proposing legislative and public policy changes to the competent authorities. A second aspect of this project aims to improve access to the law, for victims of domestic violence, by raising awareness among entities and professionals who work with these victims for the need to simplify the language, so that the meaning of technical-legal terms can be effectively apprehended by victims, allowing them to fully exercise their rights during a criminal proceeding for domestic violence. Project Hymenaeus is developed by the Faculty of Law – Porto School – of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in partnership with the Faculty of Law of the University of Bergen.O Projeto Hymenaeus propõe-se desenvolver um estudo comparativo da legislação em vigor em Portugal e na Noruega no domínio da violência doméstica, com o objetivo de melhorar a resposta legal, especialmente no âmbito penal, para este grave problema social, tanto em Portugal como na Noruega, visando propor alterações legislativas e de políticas públicas às autoridades competentes. Uma segunda vertente deste projeto visa melhorar o acesso ao direito para as vítimas de violência doméstica, através da sensibilização das entidades e dos profissionais que trabalham com estas vítimas para a necessidade de simplificação da linguagem, de modo que o significado dos termos técnico-jurídicos possa ser efetivamente apreendido pelas vítimas, permitindo-lhes exercer plenamente os seus direitos durante um processo penal por violência doméstica. Get PDFA Escola do Porto da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa atribui, anualmente, a dezenas de estudantes, o grau de mestre em Direito, em sete áreas de especialização, bem como o grau de mestre em Direito e Gestão. Com o intuito de dar visibilidade ao resultado da investigação, a Escola do Porto da Faculdade de Direito tomou a decisão de publicar as dissertações de mestrado que obtiveram as mais elevadas classificações. Assim, são publicadas, anualmente, as melhores dissertações de mestrado cujas provas se tenham realizado até dezembro do ano civil anterior. Esta divulgação permite partilhar investigação de qualidade com a demais comunidade científica. Para além disso, constitui um incentivo para a qualificação da investigação dos mestrandos em Direito e em Direito e Gestão. É nossa convicção que esta iniciativa contribui para uma profícua partilha de conhecimento e que permite a abertura de uma via dialogante com a comunidade jurídica e a sociedade civil. O presente número integra trinta e duas dissertações. As public finances tighten, corporate social engagement, including in the arts and culture, is becoming increasingly important. However, the discourse remains largely national. Hence, two case studies illustrate best practice examples from Germany.
