Laporan Kasus Hipokalemi Periodik Paralisis pada Pasien dengan Graves’ Disease
Hypokalemia periodic paralysis (HPP) characterized by episodes of flaccid weakness or paralysis that may be associated with abnormalities of the serum potassium level. HPP often associated with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease. HPP prevalence is 1 in 100.000. Each individual has different clinical manifestations, so it’s necessary to adjust therapy based on the etiology. This case report was developed to provide more information regarding Graves’ disease, considering lack of information about management and description of HPP with Graves’ disease. A 27-year-old male with sudden weakness in both legs radiating to upper extremity, shortness of breath, palpitations, and sweating. Over the last 2 months, the patient’s weight has dropped drastically even though his appetite was increased. There were no complaints of nausea, vomiting, or increased frequency of defecation and urination. Previously, the patient had the similar experiences and received potassium transfusion twice. The patients revealed tachycardia, diffuse thyroid gland, fine hand tremor, superior motor streght 222/222 and inferior 111/111, hypokalemia (1.40 mmol/L), T4 total 197.80 nmol/L, and fluorescence T4 \u3e320 m/U/mL. Graves’ disease that has become thyrotoxicosis can be accompanied by a picture of HPP or also called thyrotoxicosis periodic paralysis (TPP). Hypokalemia in TPP are not caused by potassium loss but due to intracellular potassium movement, so there’s a high possibility to hyperkalemia rebound. Treatment of TTP due to Grave’s disease is to prevent potassium transfer by administering beta blocker, potassium replacement, and treating hyperthyroidism

Efektivitas Massage Endorphin Untuk Mengurangi Kecemasan Pada Ibu Hamil Menjelang Persalinan
Pregnancy is a biological process involving complex physiological and psychological transitions that demand high adaptability from women, especially approaching childbirth. Anxiety during the third trimester is frequently reported and is associated with increased cortisol secretion, which may negatively impact labor effectiveness. This literature review aimed to synthesize scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of endorphin massage in reducing anxiety among pregnant women in the third trimester. The review used a systematic approach based on the PICO framework, covering studies published between 2021 and 2025. Databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and SINTA were used to identify quasi-experimental studies comparing endorphin massage interventions with no massage control groups. Five studies met inclusion criteria and were analyzed. The results demonstrated consistent reductions in anxiety levels after intervention, with significant decreases in Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale scores and improvements in emotional well-being. Variations in treatment frequency and duration influenced the magnitude of anxiety reduction. Physiological mechanisms involved in endorphin massage include stimulation of mechanoreceptors, activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, and suppression of cortisol production, creating a state of relaxation beneficial for maternal health. The findings support the adoption of endorphin massage as a safe, non-pharmacological complementary intervention to reduce antenatal anxiety. Further randomized controlled trials are recommended to strengthen the evidence base and develop standardized clinical guidelines for its implementation
Efektivitas Senam Hamil Dalam Mengurangi Tingkat Stres dan Kecemasan Ibu Hamil Trimester III: Literature Review
According to WHO (2020), around 10% of pregnant women experience depression and this condition is higher in developing countries, reaching 15.6% during pregnancy and 19.8% after giving birth. Anxiety experienced during pregnancy can have negative effects on both the mother and the fetus. These negative impacts are not only during pregnancy but can also affect the labor process and lactation period. There are various types of sports to reduce anxiety, one of which is gymnastics. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pregnancy gymnastics in reducing stress and anxiety before childbirth. Literature review research was conducted using PICO search in databases such as Google Scholar and Pubmed. 5 journals were obtained that met the criteria and stated that the effect of gymnastics or physical activity had an effect on the level of anxiety reduction in primigravida pregnant women in the third trimester in facing the labor process. It can be concluded that pregnancy gymnastics can reduce stress and anxiety levels in pregnant women before childbirth
The Effect of Nursing Students\u27 Level of Readiness for Professional Practice on Self-Efficacy and Clinical Stress Perception: A Cross-sectional Study
Background: It is essential to evaluate students’ readiness before graduation and support them with education accordingly. This study investigates the effect of the level of readiness for professional practice as a purpose on the self-efficacy and clinical stress perceptions of nursing students.
Methods: The data for this cross-sectional study were collected between May and July 2024. The study included 733 3rd and 4th-year students studying nursing departments at state universities in Turkey. The Student Identification Form, Casey-Fink Readiness for Practice Scale (CFRPS), Student Self-Efficacy Scale (SSS), and Nursing Students Perceptions of Clinical Stressors Scale (NSPCSS) were used.
Results: The mean total CFRPS score of the students participating in the study was 43.85 ± 8.58, the mean SSS total score was 29.93 ± 5.84, and the mean NSPCSS total score was 95.36 ± 19.99. A statistically significant difference was found between the students\u27 age, gender, class level, and willingness to choose the nursing department and the CFRPS, SSS, and NSPCSS scale scores (p \u3c 0.05). The results indicated a negative correlation between the NSPCSS and both the CFRPS (r = −0.99, p = 0.01) and the SSS (r = −0.11, p = 0.01). Additionally, a strong positive correlation was observed between the CFRPS and SSS (r = 0.77, p = 0.01). Readiness explains 2.1% of the variance in self-efficacy and perception of clinical stress (R2 = 0.021, p = 0.001).
Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was determined that nursing students’ readiness for professional practice, self-efficacy, and clinical stress perceptions were affected by various factors such as age, gender, grade level, and desire to choose the nursing department. In addition, it was concluded that there was a negative correlation between students\u27 clinical stress perceptions and their readiness for professional practice and self-efficacy levels, and that as students\u27 readiness and self-efficacy increased, their clinical stress perceptions tended to decrease
Associated Factors in Willingness to Shift Tobacco Expenditure Into National Health Insurance Premium Among Subsidized Members
In Indonesia, subsidized members are the largest group in the National Health Insurance program. Hence, it is essential to understand their ability to pay (ATP) based on tobacco expenditure. This study aimed to determine the ATP of subsidized members based on tobacco expenditure and factors associated with their willingness to pay (WTP). This cross-sectional study used secondary data from the National Institute of Health Research and Development. The population included all subsidized members; 19,918 were sampled for ATP, and 14,560 were WTP. The independent t-test, ANOVA, and logistic regression were performed. Results showed that ATP from tobacco expenditure ranged from USD 4 to 4.8, higher than the minimum monthly payment, and WTP ranged from USD 0.1 to 1.2. About 73.6% of respondents preferred to pay less than USD 0.3 as an additional payment, while 3.5% were willing to pay more than USD 1. The ATP was higher than the monthly payment and WTP, but only a few were willing to be non-subsidized members. Factors associated with WTP were sex, age, education level, family member, occupation, expenditure, and history of health facility utilization, implying the subsidized members should be reviewed, especially among smokers
Sharia Compliance,Internal Audit & Risk Management Function in IB
The new regulations from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) of POJK No. 2/2024 and SEOJK No. 15/2024 require Islamic banks to support sharia compliance supervision by assigning three functions; Sharia Compliance, Sharia Internal Audit, and Sharia Risk Management. Therefore, the role of these three functions is an essential factor for Islamic banks in maintaining and mitigating the level of sharia compliance risk. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of supervision carried out by the three functions which are assessed from three attributes; namely Competence, Work Program, and Independence. The research data was obtained using a questionnaire method distributed to 10 islamic banks in Indonesia in 2025. The data then processed using SPSS software. The regression results show that the three attributes have a positive yet insignificant effect on the level of sharia compliance. This shows that in the adjustment phase with this new regulation, these three functions must have better competence, work programs, and independence in order to play a more effective role in supervising sharia compliance risks
SOCIAL CAPITAL AND MOBILITY OF STARLING MADURA COFFEE TRADERS IN JAKARTA
This study aims to generate knowledge about the social capital underlying the resilience of Starling Madura coffee traders in Jakarta. The idea that underlies this analysis is Bourdieu\u27s social capital theory, in which social capital formed through networks is able to provide independence in overcoming social and economic problems. In addition to social capital, mobility strategies are utilized as opportunities by Starling Madura coffee traders in an effort to survive sustainably in the context of the informal economic order in Jakarta. This study provides data and analysis that strengthen the idea that Starling Madura coffee traders adopt distinctive social capital and mobility strategies so that they have a competitive advantage and resilience in the informal economy arena in Jakarta. The study findings reveal three main elements that complement each other as the social capital of Starling Madura coffee traders to survive in the dynamics of the itinerant coffee trade in Jakarta, namely the ability to build networks, the innate culture of Madurese ethnicity, and mobility strategies as temporary migrants and mobility in public spaces
Potential of Legume Seeds from the Leguminosae Family as Material Source of Food and Medicine : A Literature Review
Leguminosae, also known as Fabaceae, is the third largest plant family after Orchidaceae and Asteraceae. This review aimed to explore the potential of several legume species indigenous to Indonesia, from the Leguminosae family, as sources of food and medicine. The data used for the analysis were collected from various online databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The results showed that there were 13 species of Leguminosae family plants found easily in Indonesia including Cajanus cajan, Canavalia ensiformis, Mucuna pruriens, Arachis hypogaea, Vigna subterranea, Glycine max, Phaseolus vulgaris, Phaseolus lunatus, Vigna radiata, Vigna unguiculata subsp. unguiculata, Vigna angularis, Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis, and Pisum sativum. Among these species, several plants have been underutilized as food material, including C. cajan, C. ensiformis, M. pruriens, and P. lunatus. These 13 legume plants generally contain carbohydrates, proteins, starch, fats, and minerals, making them valuable as potential food sources. They also predominantly contain secondary metabolites, such as polyphenols and flavonoids (e.g., genistein, daidzein, cajanin), which have significant potential to be developed into pharmacologically active compounds
SYMBOLS AND POWER DISCOURSES IN THREE SHADOW PUPPET PERFORMANCES OF THE MURWAKALA PLAY
This study analyzes the symbols and discourses of power in three Purwa shadow puppet performances of the Murwakala play, styles of Surakarta, Yogyakarta, and Banyumas. The Murwakala play, centered on themes of purification and the transformation of power, contains a rich narrative for analyzing power dynamics through the interactions between characters such as Batara Kala (a form of destructive power), Batara Wisnu (a form of constructive power), and Batara Guru (a form of cosmic order). Using a qualitative approach, this research integrates Geertz\u27s theory of cultural symbolism and Foucault\u27s discourse of power to analyze how power is represented and negotiated in these performances. This study highlights the role of symbols, the classification of sukerta (individuals considered spiritually impure), and the performative elements of mantras, gending (musical compositions), and sinden (female vocalists) in constructing a powerful discourse. Additionally, the socio-cultural context of Javanese society, including rituals like ruwatan (cleansing ceremonies), is explored to understand its influence on the interpretation of power dynamics. The findings reveal distinct variations in power representation across the three styles. The Surakarta style emphasizes hierarchical and philosophical power structures, the Yogyakarta style showcases ritualistic negotiations of power, and the Banyumas style reflects a more egalitarian and communal approach. These differences underscore the adaptability of shadow puppetry as a living tradition that reflects and shapes socio-cultural values
