Managing Crowdfunding Risks in Terrorism Financing: A Mediated Analysis of Government Intervention and Donation Intentions

    No full text
Crowdfunding has emerged as a popular platform for collective funding of social, charitable, and commercial projects. However, its increasing use has raised concerns over potential misuse, including as a source of terrorism financing. This study investigates the relationship between donation intentions using crowdfunding and the risk of crowdfunding being used as a source of terrorism financing. Furthermore, it explores the mediating role of government intervention in this relationship. Using a Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) second-order approach, the research evaluates the interaction between donor intentions, crowdfunding risks, and government regulations. Findings reveal that while donor intentions significantly impact the risk of crowdfunding misuse for terrorism financing, the mediating role of government intervention is statistically insignificant. This suggests that regulatory measures alone may not sufficiently mitigate these risks. These findings highlight the critical need to reevaluate current strategies for preventing the misuse of crowdfunding for illicit purposes. By providing empirical evidence of the limited impact of government intervention, this study contributes valuable insights for policymakers aiming to strengthen oversight mechanisms and ensure safer crowdfunding practices in Indonesia

SPECIAL STATUS OF AFRICAN REGIONAL STATES IN THE INTERNATIONAL SEABED AUTHORITY

    No full text
Through the mandate of UNCLOS 1982 and the 1994 Agreement, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) exists as a regulatory regime for activities in the international seabed area. Interestingly, African countries are privileged over other countries by occupying the most seats on the ISA Council. In addition, the ISA\u27s commitment to supporting the blue economy through the Africa Deep Seabed Resources project also accentuates the privileges of African countries. African countries\u27 technological, financial, and knowledge capacity is minimal in seabed mining. Apart from this problem, this research aims to analyse the fundamental reasons for the ISA\u27s actions that give privileges to African countries in international seabed mining. Using the theory of knowledge-based international regimes and the concept of productive power as analytical tools, this research finds that granting special status to African countries is driven by the formation of shared knowledge and the dominance of the productive power of African countries in the ISA. The absence of a strong superpower in establishing the ISA regime also reinforced the supremacy of productive power

Non-Tariff Measures on Indonesian Tea Products: Do SPS and TBT Impede or Promote the Export?

    No full text
Previous studies highlight the heterogeneous effects of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) on international trade. This study identifies the enforcement of NTMs and examines the effects on the export performance of Indonesian tea products. This study employed an inventory (coverage ratio) approach and panel regression with the Poisson-Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) method. The results indicate that 31 out of 36 analyzed destination countries enforce NTMs, with Vietnam imposing the most prevalent ones. Furthermore, SPS measures substantially promote the export of Indonesian tea products, whereas TBT measures show no significant effect. Therefore, the government needs to provide incentives and harmonize the national Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) scheme and other national standards to comply with NTMs imposed by destination countries

The Quality of Bio-pellets Made by Combining Walnut Kernel Shells (Canarium Indicum L.) from Bogor, Indonesia, and Palm Kernel Shells as Renewable Energy

    No full text
Using biomass as an energy source helps overcome the declining supply of fossil fuels. Bio-pellets—an energy product made from biomass—is one option that can be utilized. One source of biomass energy is walnut kernel shells. The walnut plant (Canarium indicum L.) is a forest tree grown in eastern Indonesia. The walnut plant is also located in the GOR Pajajaran area of Bogor City and has not been utilized for energy production. This study consists of three stages: 1) raw material preparation, 2) bio-pellet production, and 3) bio-pellet characterization in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 8951:2020. Based on the results of our study, bio-pellets made from 100% walnut kernel shells can be utilized as fuel, with a calorific value of 4,593 cal/g. Although the moisture content remains high, the calorific value still meets the standard for power plants according to SNI 8951:2020. In addition, palm kernel shells can improve the quality of bio-pellet products. The combination of 30% walnut kernel shells and 70% palm kernel shells improves calorific value, with the following specifications: 4,684.4 cal/g of calorific value, 8.83% moisture content, 1.85% ash content, 69.16% volatile materials, 19.30% fixed carbon, 0.02% sulfur content, and 1.18% bulk density

This thesis analyzes the validity for granting a power of attorney in a credit agreement and to which court has the authority to adjudicate disputes arising from the validity of such granting of power of attorney. This article was prepared using doctrinal methods with secondary data originating from the Civil Code and other related regulations. Today\u27s urgent need for credit encourages people to enter into credit agreements without fully understanding the contents of the agreement they are entering. In practice, the contents of the credit agreement contain a clause granting authority to debit and block the customer\u27s account to ensure repayment of the debtor\u27s debt. Viewed from the perspective of banking and civil law, the granting of such power of attorney is valid with the existence of an agreement whose substance does not conflict with the law, however restrictions on the implementation of blocking and debiting must be clearly stated in the agreement and power of attorney agreed upon by the parties. If viewed from the perspective of legal protection, the debtor\u27s rights must be considered and protected, and it must be ensured that the granting of power of attorney must not harm the person giving the power of attorney. In the Supreme Court decision Number 587 K/Pdt. Sus-BPSK/2021, the power given may become invalid due to clauses that have unclear limitations and the lack of explanation and information provided by the bank to its customers. Judging from the court\u27s competence in resolving disputes that arise, especially in the Supreme Court Decision Number 587.K/Pdt.Sus-BPSK/2021, dispute resolution through the District Court is the right choice because the legal relationship between the parties is contractual in nature

FACTORS INFLUENCING EMPLOYEE GREEN BEHAVIOR AND EMPLOYEE GREEN ATTITUDE AMONG MUSLIMS IN INDONESIA

    No full text
In a Muslim majority, developing country like Indonesia, religion shapes employees’ work ethic and professional behavior, embedding spiritual and cultural values into the workplace. Despite the increasing attention to pro-environmental behavior, previous studies have largely examined Green Human Resource Management (GHRM), religiosity, and environmental concern separately, often focusing on a single sector. This leaves employees from various occupational backgrounds underexplored. This study aims to examine the effects of Green Concern (GC), Green Motivation (M), GHRM, and Religiosity (REL) on Employee Green Behavior (EGB) and Employee Green Attitude (EGA) of Muslim employees in Indonesia. Data were collected through a quantitative survey of 300 Muslim employees across various occupational sectors and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings revealed that although GC, GHRM, and REL did not have a direct affect on EGB, they exerted a significant indirect effect when M was introduced as a mediating factor. The novelty of this study lies in establishing green motivation as a robust psychological mechanism explaining how GC, GHRM, and REL shape EGA and EGB among an underexplored population: employees across various occupational sectors. Furthermore, this study highlights the unique role of religiosity in influencing EGA and EGB among Muslim employees, differentiating it from prior research. Theoretically, this study advances the green behavior model by highlighting motivation as a key mediator. Practically, it suggest that organizations in Muslim-majority developing countries can enhance green behavior by implementing environmental training programs grounded in religious values and developing culturally sensitive reward systems designed to strengthen employee motivation commitment to sustainable practices

Dampak COVID-19 Terhadap Kecepatan Penyesuaian Struktur Modal: Studi Perbandingan Antara Perusahaan Sharia-Compliant dan Non-Compliant di Indonesia

    No full text
This study aims to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on capital structure adjustment among firms in Indonesia, with a focus on differences between Sharia-compliant and non-compliant companies. The research utilizes panel data from non-financial firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2017–2022 period. Capital structure adjustment is analyzed using panel regression methods, controlling for variables such as profitability, growth, firm size, tangibility, liquidity, and income volatility. The findings indicate that the pandemic increased leverage and accelerated capital structure adjustment overall. However, Sharia-compliant firms exhibited a slower adjustment speed compared to non-compliant firms, due to constraints imposed by Islamic financial principles. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of capital structure dynamics during crises and offers practical implications for corporate financial decision-making and regulatory strategies

    No full text
Background: With rising migration and multicultural patient populations, understanding the factors that shape intercultural sensitivity among healthcare workers has become essential. This study aims to determine the effect of cultural literacy, ethnocentrism, and xenophobia on intercultural sensitivity in nurse interns. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 206 intern nurses from three universities in a province of Türkiye. A simple random sampling method is used. Data are collected by using the Introductory Information Form, Intercultural Sensitivity Scale, Cultural Literacy Scale, Ethnocentrism Scale, and Xenophobia Scale. Multiple regression is used for data analysis. Results: Cultural literacy (β = 0.327, p \u3c 0.001) was found to be a positive predictor of intercultural sensitivity, while ethnocentrism (β = −0.194, p \u3c 0.001) and xenophobia (β = −0.210, p \u3c 0.001) were found to be negative predictors of intercultural sensitivity. Cultural literacy, ethnocentrism, and xenophobia explained 44.3% of the variation in intercultural sensitivity (Adjusted R2 = 0.443). Conclusion: The study found that cultural literacy plays a positive role in increasing intercultural sensitivity, while ethnocentrism and xenophobia negatively affect this sensitivity

Enhancing Urban Transit Oriented Development: Investigating Passenger Loyalty, Attitudes, and Perceived Usefulness on Jabodetabek KAI Commuter

    No full text
This study explores the psychological factors that influence applying a technology acceptance model to KAI Commuter Jabodetabek. The model focuses on the primary variables of perceived usefulness and attitude toward the service, with passenger loyalty serving as the key indicator of successful public transportation acceptance. Data was collected via surveys from 352 purposively selected commuter workers in the Greater Jakarta area using a cross-sectional, quantitative design. The measurement tools used are adaptations of the Passenger Loyalty Measure to Public Transportation Modes, the Attitude Measure to Public Transportation, and the Perceived Usefulness Measure. The results indicate that attitude toward KAI Commuter Jabodetabek partially mediates the relationship between perceived usefulness and passenger loyalty (B = 1.2, t = 7.35, p \u3c .001). This indicates that passengers’ decision to use or reject KAI Commuter Jabodetabek services depends on the ratio of benefits. By integrating principles from the technology acceptance model with psychological theories of attitude and behavior, this study addresses a critical gap in understanding how psychological and perceptual factors drive transit behavior. The insights gained provide valuable guidance for the design and management of PTSs , enhancing user adoption and long-term loyalty
