The economic transformation in Indonesia and other ASEAN (Association of the South East Asian Nations) countries reflects a shift from a government-based economy to an open market system with competitive principles. The challenges faced include the rapid development of the digital economy, including Industry 4.0 which has now entered its fifth literacy. The automotive sector is one of the sectors most affected by this phenomenon. Low labour costs and high motorisation rates have attracted more car manufacturers, especially from Japan, China and Germany (Europe) to make foreign direct investments in Indonesia. Indonesia is the second largest producer and consumer of automobiles in the ASEAN region, with a market share of 25 per cent. The automotive industry employs up to 1.5 million people along the supply chain. However, despite the high potential and absorptive capacity of the automotive industry in Indonesia, the market share in this sector is dominated by only a few manufacturers with specific brands, particularly from Japan. This leads to oligopolistic market conditions that will make it difficult for new players, from other countries, to penetrate the Indonesian automotive market. Oligopolistic market conditions are caused by the pervasiveness of the practice of exclusive vertical agreements, collusive horizontal agreements and vertical integration agreements from upstream to downstream sectors or vice versa. Actually, the motive of exclusive agreement practice is to create micro-efficiency. However, this will be contradictorily confronted with macro efficiency issues, one of which is the creation of a competitive market. This issue becomes even more complex with the presence of exemption provisions, particularly in Article 50 paragraphs (a) and (e), for the enforcement of Law Number 5 Year 1999 on Business Competition related to distribution relationships, which are only attributable to agency relationships, not distribution relationships. One industry that has a very intense Principal Partnership relationship in Indonesia is the automotive industry. The nature of the partnership relationship in this business is highly dominated by the Principal so that it has the potential to conflict with the prohibitions in Business Competition Law No. 5/1999, especially in Vertical Exclusive Agreements and Vertical Integration. This study aims to analyse; First, how the potential violation of the contents of the Exclusive Vertical Agreement in the relationship between Principal and Dealer, Second, how the potential violation of the contents of Vertical Integration agreement in the relationship between Principal and Dealer; Third, how the relationship of the norm of Exclusion of Agency relationship in Article 50 with the potential violation of the prohibition of Exclusive Vertical Agreement and Vertical Integration Agreement. This research is expected to provide a reference for the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), related Ministries, business actors and related stakeholders, in assessing potential violations of Article 15 and Article 14 of the Business Competition Law number 5/1999 in Principal and Dealer relationships in the Indonesian automotive industry. Keywords: Automotive Industry, Exclusive Vertical Agreement, Vertical Integration Agreement, Single Agent Brand Holder (ATPM), Regulation on Block Exemptio

The challenge of energy transition is the high subsidy on fossil fuels and financing needs. Using social accounting matrix, this study examines the impact of energy transition plan and subsidy reform on economy, society and environment through three scenarios: business-as-usual scenario (Sim1), energy transition (Sim2) and phasing-out (Sim3). Sim2 and Sim3 are conducted without subsidy transfer (Sim2 & Sim3) and subsidy transfer for financing renewable power plants (Sim2.1 & Sim 3.1). The result is Sim3 has better economic, social and environmental impacts than Sim1. When reallocation is conducted, reallocation simulation shows positive impacts on economy and society with significant differences in environmental impacts

This edition marks the end of 2025 and presents articles on seemingly unrelated themes but reveal various aspects of our current legal system and society. In several countries, including Indonesia, autocratic legalism has emerged as a governing practice. Indonesia\u27s political elite do not obey the law, but instead change and manipulate the law in the name of the people to legitimise their power. Various policies continue to be enacted without a scientific basis or evidence-based data, and without considering their impact on people, especially the poor and vulnerable. State institutions are also systematically weakened because they operate without opposition when political parties form coalitions with the government, and there is no system of checks and balances. Rather than being obeyed, the law is used as a tool to maintain authoritarianism

Computational Screening of Anticancer Peptides from Cordyceps militaris Targeting Apoptosis, Angiogenesis, and Metastasis

    No full text
Cancer remains a major global health issue, and current therapies often lack efficacy and have severe adverse effects. Anticancer peptides (ACPs) have emerged as promising therapeutic agents due to their specific targeting mechanisms and minimal toxicity. This study aimed to identify novel ACPs from Cordyceps militaris through computational screening, evaluate their anticancer potential, predict their mechanisms of action through molecular docking, and analyze their pharmacokinetic profiles. Initially, 15 protein sequences from Cordyceps militaris were retrieved from the National Center for Biotechnology Information database and subjected to in silico gastrointestinal digestion using BIOPEP-UWM. The resulting peptides were subjected to predictive analysis via AntiCP2.0 and iACP-FSCM for their anticancer potential. The top 16 peptides were selected based on high prediction scores and subjected to molecular docking using HPEPDOCK and BIOVIA Discovery Studio against key cancer-related proteins, including anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 proteins (4B4S, 4AQ3), VEGFR2 kinase (3C7Q), and NF-κB (1SVC). The PATSW, SISVGW, and QCSEAGSSW peptides showed the strongest binding affinities, indicating potent anticancer activities. Pharmacokinetic prediction by ADMETlab 2.0 revealed favorable in vitro permeability but highlighted limitations in oral bioavailability, suggesting a requirement for further peptide modifications. Overall, this study identified promising candidates for anticancer therapeutics derived from C. militaris, supporting future experimental validation

Circularity in Design Studio: Student Participatory Model in Developing a Paper Recycling System

    No full text
This study explores the implementation of a participatory model for developing a paper waste recycling system and integrating it within architectural design education. In response to the high level of paper waste inherent in design studio learning, the initiative treats waste not as a final output but as reusable material for further resources. A student-led, participatory model was established to design and implement a paper waste recycling system, including the establishment of a sorting hub in the studio environment, regular waste tracking, and hands-on workshops on various forms of paper reuse and recycling. The process evolved through regular feedback, peer coordination, and internal reflection, eventually forming a self-sustaining initiative. Evaluation methods included surveys, interviews, and visual documentation throughout the process. Framing design learning as both a material and behavioral practice, this study contributes a model with potential replication for embedding circular practices into higher education, particularly in resource-intensive creative disciplines

Polio vaccination coverage in Indonesia was uneven across provinces. Based on data from the 2017 Indonesian Health Profile, the coverage of complete oral polio vaccination for infants in Indonesia reached 91,7%, while polio injection vaccination reached only 46,8%. DKI Jakarta was one of the regions with high oral polio vaccination coverage (101.7%), whereas DI Yogyakarta was among the regions with low oral polio vaccination coverage (73.3%). This study aimed to determine the factors associated with polio vaccination among children under five years old in DKI Jakarta and DI Yogyakarta in 2017 using IDHS data from 2017. The study used a quantitative method with a cross- sectional study design with a total sample size of 426 mothers. The dependent variable in this study was polio vaccination in toddlers, while the independent variables were maternal age, maternal education, maternal employment, wealth index, place of delivery, and accessibility to health services. The analyses consisted of univariate analysis to describe all variables, bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results of this study showed that polio vaccination coverage in DKI Jakarta was 52.8%, while in DI Yogyakarta it was only 18.3%. There was a significant association between maternal age and polio vaccination among children aged 0 - 59 months in DKI Jakarta (p-value = 0.009) and a significant association between maternal occupation and polio vaccination among children aged 0 - 59 months in DI Yogyakarta (p-value = 0.03). The government was advised to continue monitoring and evaluation in high vaccination coverage areas so that group immunity in these areas could be maintained and improved. For low vaccination coverage areas, efforts to increase vaccination coverage needed to be optimized

    No full text
The war between Russia and Ukraine significantly affected world life, one of which was the increase in world oil energy prices. Indonesia, in this case, which still imports a lot of energy, is also affected. The government needs to implement policies to face these global challenges, one of which is to provide subsidies for energy so that state budget funds can assist people\u27s purchasing power for energy because if not, this will lead to an increase in the prices of goods and services so that there will be inflation. Still, on the other hand, Indonesia is also carrying out a post-pandemic economic recovery. So that the government is right in carrying out policies, Islamic Economics views this case through sharia principles. This article uses a multidisciplinary approach. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The theory used is the Rules of Qowaid Al-Fiqh, harmonized with Islamic economics. This article highlights that the principles of Islam can also be used in government policies regarding the economy

Total knee replacement (TKR) is one of the most economical and frequently successful orthopedic procedures. Cost-of-illness studies of TKR in Indonesia are scarce and lack an analysis of the relationship between characteristics and costs. This study aims to examine the cost-of-illness of TKR from a social perspective and explore the relationship between the characteristics and the cost of TKR. This is an observational cross-sectional study of all patients who underwent TKR from 1st January 2022-31 st December 2023. The characteristics were collected from the medical records. Cost of illness was conducted from a social perspective with a bottom-up approach. Hospital cost on the JKN ECLAIM System was obtained as direct medical cost. Direct non-medical and indirect costs were collected through a phone interview with the patient or caregiver. Indirect cost was defined as income loss from the patient and caregiver. The relationship between characteristics and cost was analyzed bivariately using the Mann–Whitney U test and Kruskal–Wallis test. Of a total 54 patient were obtained. Median direct medical cost was 51,769,675 IDR; direct non-medical cost was 850,000 IDR; and indirect cost was 750,000 IDR. None of the characteristics had a direct relationship with medical cost. Age (p = 0.043), Caregiver (p \u3c0.001), and distance traveled (p \u3c0.001) were known as characteristic related to direct non-medical costs. Indirect cost was related to age (p = 0.053) and employment status (p = 0.005). This study only examined the cost of TKR in the hospital. Costs of post-surgery recovery steps, including costs for revisit consultations, wound care, and physiotherapy, need to be carried out in the future

Faktor Prediktif Post Dialysis Fatigue Sedang pada Pasien yang Menjalani Hemodialisis Reguler

    No full text
Introduction. Fatigue is often found in patients with CKD-HD. Fatigue serves as an indicator of mortality and may be a viable target in a treatment strategy. Current research has not established the determinants of moderate PDF in individuals with CKD who are undergoing HD. Therefore, this study was conducted to prove the predictor factors of moderate PDF. Methods. A retrospective cohort study in CKD-HD patients at Fatmawati Central General Hospital during the period of November-December 2024. The independent variables of this study are comorbidities, MIS, depression, intradialytic SBPV, dialysis vintage, UFG, IDWG, and anemia status. Primary data from the PDF Scale, MIS, and BDI II questionnaire were collected through patient interviews during the eighth hemodialysis session. Demographic and clinical information of the patients was obtained from medical records. Intradialytic SBPV was determined by the ARV. All variables were examined using the chi-square test, except for the depression variable, which failed to fulfil the requirements and was assessed using the Fisher exact test. A logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the most significant association among the predictor variables of moderate PDF. Results. A total of 135 research subjects were included in the study. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis, MIS, depression, and the type of dialysis were significantly linked to moderate post dialysis fatigue (p \u3c 0.05). From the results of the multivariate analysis, inflammatory malnutrition (RR 1.580; 95% CI 1.017–2.455; p = 0.042), dialysis vintage (RR 1.850; 95% CI 1.208–2.834; p = 0.005), and depression (RR 2.165; 95% CI 1.542–3.039; p \u3c 0.001) were obtained. The logistic regression model shows a significant relationship between moderate PDF and severe malnutrition inflammation score, mild to moderate depression, and dialysis vintage exceeding 12 months. Conclusion. Our findings underscore a significant association between depression, dialysis vintage, and malnutrition inflammation score (MIS) with moderate PDF in CKD-HD patients
