UNDERSTANDING OFFLINE PRO-ENVIRONMENTAL IDENTITY: FACTORS AND IMPLICATIONS

    No full text
Given global environmental challenges, developing sustainable behavior among pre-service teachers is crucial, as they will be responsible to educate future generations who must contribute to solving environmental problems. Offline pro-environmental identity refers as the individual\u27s environmental commitment in real-life setting. Previous studies have primarily focused on online identity and behavioral intentions, while real-life behavioral context have not been fully examined. The goal of this study was to investigate the effects of the online pro-environmental identity, the perceived behavioral control, and the moral identity on the behavioral intention and the offline pro-environmental behavior. The study employed a quantitative research design and adopted Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) to analyze the data. The population was all Economics Education students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. A proportionate simple random sampling method was employed to choose 277 respondents. Questionnaire-based data were obtained and analyzed using CB-SEM. The findings reveal that intention was a strong and positive predictor of offline pro-environmental behavior (H1). Moral identity significantly influences intention (H2) and affects offline behavior both directly (H3) and indirectly through intention (H8). Online pro-environmental identity also has a significant influence on both intention (H4) and offline behavior (H5), with both effects mediated by intention (H9). However, perceived behavioral control has no impact on either intention (H6) or discharge behavior offline (H7), even indirectly through intention (H10). R value for intention is a moderate 0.539 whereas offline pro-environmental behaviour shows a strong R value at 0.963. These results emphasize the importance of intention for transforming values and identity to actual ecological behaviour. Enhancing moral and online pro-environmental identity can be beneficial to the development of sustainable behavior in offline context which calls for joint efforts in environmental education and behavioral interventions

A Study of Wear Measurement and Life Prediction of Insert Chute Liner on Gold Ore Processing

    No full text
Chutes are critical materials handling assets to transport solid particles from one process step to another in mineral processing, coal mining and cement industries. The material transport, because of material characteristics, cause severe wear on internal lining of chutes or bins’ structure. The wear problem on internal lining of bins or chutes needs to be checked to keep production efficiency. Therefore, not checked wear rate causes liner replacement schedule becomes unpredictable. It leads to production loss and highly cost maintenance in industry. This study shows that condition-based maintenance through regular thickness measurement using Ultrasonic Transducer (UT) to predict life service of critical liners prevent unplanned maintenance schedule. Data collected can be used to predict the next liner replacement schedule, cuts unplanned maintenance and breakdowns

Public Compliance towards Indonesian National Police (POLRI) Authority in the Midst of a Strained Public-Police Relationship

    No full text
Public trust in the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has experienced significant fluctuations due to allegations of misconduct, corruption, and excessive use of force. This study examines the relationship between public trust and compliance with Polri authority, particularly in the context of strained police-community relations. Drawing on procedural justice and restorative regulation theories, the research argues that trust directly influences voluntary compliance and that procedural justice alone is insufficient to repair legitimacy deficits. Instead, a dual model combining procedural fairness with restorative reconciliation, including acknowledgment of past harms and community dialogue is proposed as a more effective strategy for rebuilding trust. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study analyses national survey data on public trust in Polri alongside qualitative insights from community-police engagement initiatives. The findings suggest that while instrumental compliance (fear-based adherence) persists in low-trust environments, normative compliance (voluntary cooperation) is stronger where procedural justice and restorative practices are implemented. Additionally, the study explores variations in compliance across different social groups, applying Hirschi’s (1969) Social Bond Theory to explain divergent responses to police authority. The study contributes to policing legitimacy literature by demonstrating the need for context-sensitive reforms in post-authoritarian societies like Indonesia. It recommends integrating procedural justice training, community dialogues, public apologies for past injustices, and transparent accountability mechanisms to foster sustainable compliance. Future research should empirically test the proposed dual model in diverse Indonesian communities to refine its applicability

    No full text
Research is one of the gates to uncover wisdom in scientific disciplines. In its implementation, it is often found that there are various interests underlying the research. These various interests also have their own purpose to the extent that it can influence the results of the research which can have implications to form a research misconduct. This research aims to review the national criminal law regarding this behavior by examining the relevant act’s articles as well as scholarly dogmatics due to the absence of laws regulating this matter. The method used in this research is juridical-normative using conceptual approach and literature research in order to collect the data. The results of this research are that by extensively interpreting the elements of articles regarding fake news crime, research misconduct that causes disturbance can be punished. This can fill the legal void regarding the prosecution of research misconduct even though it can only be implemented starting in 2026. Hence the national criminal law still accommodates punishment for research misconduct

Development and Comparative Evaluation of a Novel Aloe vera–Vinegar Gel as a Sustainable Histological Slide Coating Agent

    No full text
Objective: Reliable tissue adhesion to glass slides is critical for accurate histological evaluation. Egg albumen, a commonly used coating agent, often results in background staining and inconsistent performance. Aloe vera, known for its biocompatibility and adhesive properties, presents a sustainable alternative. This study aimed to develop a novel aloe vera–vinegar gel formulation and compare its slide-coating performance with that of traditional egg albumen. Methods: Fresh Aloe vera gel was extracted and combined with nonfruit vinegar, filtered, and refrigerated. Thirty paraffin-embedded tissue sections were divided into two groups: one coated with aloe vera–vinegar gel and the other coated with egg albumen. The slides were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Two blinded observers evaluated parameters, including viscosity, adhesion, background staining, and stain intensity. The data were analysed via independent t-tests and Cohen’s kappa. Results: The viscosity (p \u3c 0.001) and stain intensity (p = 0.002) of aloe vera–vinegar gel were significantly greater than those of egg albumen. It showed minimal background staining and consistent tissue adherence. The level of observer agreement was high across the assessments. Conclusion: Aloe vera–vinegar gel is a viable, eco-friendly alternative to egg albumen for histological slide coating. Its superior viscosity, enhanced staining characteristics, and cleaner background support its potential for routine use. Future studies should include objective physical property analyses to further validate its application

    No full text
South Kalimantan Province continues to face the challenge of relatively high stunting prevalence despite being endowed with abundant coal resources that could serve as a source of funding for public health. Therefore, this study aimed to examine differences in stunting prevalence among cities, mining districts, and non-mining districts in South Kalimantan to raise stakeholder awareness of disparities across these regional types. This study was conducted between April and December 2024, using secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the South Kalimantan Provincial Government. R programming was used to process the data, generate visualizations, and perform analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey’s honestly significant difference (HSD) tests. Following the significant ANOVA result, Tukey’s HSD test was conducted to identify specific regional pairs that differed significantly following the ANOVA result. The results showed that cities had significantly lower mean stunting prevalence than non-mining districts (p-value0.05). Additionally, no significant difference was observed between mining and non-mining districts (p-value \u3e0.05). In conclusion, abundant coal resources in mining districts have not translated into more effective stunting reduction efforts

Cultural Representation in Global Film Discourse: A Bibliometric Analysis of Dominant Themes and Western Hegemony

    No full text
This study investigates the dominant themes and discursive structures within global film scholarship through a bibliometric analysis of 404 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2019 and 2024. Using VOSviewer to map keyword co-occurrence, citation networks, and authorship patterns, the research identifies five major thematic clusters: Hollywood, feminism, representation, Bollywood, and popular culture. The findings reveal a persistent dominance of Western narratives positioning them at the centre of global film studies. In contrast, themes related to non-Western cinema, such as Bollywood, appear less central and more fragmented within the academic discourse. These results highlight how bibliometric patterns reflect broader ideological structures, reinforcing Stuart Hall’s theory of cultural representation and the asymmetry of global meaning production. The study concludes that while Western hegemony remains influential, there is emerging scholarly attention to diverse cultural narratives. Future research should incorporate more inclusive data sources and methodologies to better capture underrepresented voices in global film discourse
