Remaining Life Analysis of Pipeline Gas with Extreme Value Theory
Energy and chemical companies use pipelines to transfer oil, gas, and other materials from one place to another, within and between their plants. Pipeline integrity is an important concern because pipeline leakage could result in serious economic or environmental losses. Some research has applied to understand the effect of extrapolation value of the minimum thickness of pipeline by using the Extreme Value Theory. In this research, both statistical models and Extreme Value methods were applied and developed for the reliability of the pipeline by assuming the constant corrosion rate and deviation due to measuring devices were neglected. The research obtained that using the General Pareto Distribution technique, the result found that the extreme value method seems not close agreement with the Pareto Distribution. While using the Generalized Extreme Value Technique found remaining life of 344 blocks data of the pipeline around 5.23 years. It could be suggested that next pipeline pigging should be conducted within 2.5 years

In-depth Analysis on Strengthening Sanctions for Fisheries Violations in Indonesia: Challenges, Obstacles, and Reform
Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing remains a significant challenge for Indonesia, posing threats to its marine resources, economic stability, and national sovereignty. This study examines the enforcement of sanctions against fisheries violations in Indonesia from an international legal perspective. It explores how Indonesia aligns its regulatory framework with global legal instruments, such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the Port State Measures Agreement (PSMA), and regional agreements within ASEAN. The research identifies key challenges, including legal inconsistencies, enforcement limitations, and jurisdictional complexities, which hinder the effective prosecution of fisheries crimes. It also analyzes obstacles in implementing stricter sanctions, particularly in cases involving foreign fishing vessels operating illegally in Indonesian waters. The study also assesses Indonesia’s current legal reforms and proposes policy recommendations to enhance compliance with international norms. Strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries, improving monitoring and surveillance systems, and reforming legal mechanisms are crucial steps toward ensuring more effective sanctions. By integrating international legal standards into domestic policies, Indonesia can enhance its ability to combat fisheries violations while fostering sustainable marine resource management
Peer Victimization and Nonsuicidal Self Injury: Social Support as a Potential Protective Factor for Adolescents
Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a high-risk behavior that increases the desire and likelihood of attempting to commit suicide. Peer victimization has been found to precede NSSI. Both phenomena are prevalent among adolescents living in urban areas. This cross-sectional study investigated the role of social support in the relationship between peer victimization and NSSI. A total of 449 adolescents who lived in urban areas completed the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI), Multidimensional Peer Victimization Scale (MVPS), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to assess NSSI frequency, peer victimization, and perceived social support. The results found that NSSI is higher in girls. While boys experienced more peer victimization, they also perceived more social support. Early adolescents were the most vulnerable to peer victimization and NSSI. NSSI tended to be higher in adolescents whose parents were divorced. Results also showed that social support moderated the effects of peer victimization on NSSI (b = −.021, 95% CI [−.037, .006], p = .007). Family support lessens the impact of peer victimization on NSSI. The interaction between family support and peer victimization significantly explains the 13% variance of NSSI. Interaction between friends and support from significant others with peer victimization was not significant in predicting NSSI
A virtual art festival in West Java; Participatory culture during the pandemic
YouTube was used as a significant platform for public performances around the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic, including those given by contemporary and traditional artists and communities. Although this transference of public performance to virtual performance has meant challenges for traditional artists, it has also encouraged them to create new creative media spaces. Instead of confronting digital technology, some traditional artists compromise and negotiate with it. Through an ethnographic account of a performance in Tasikmalaya, West Java, this article describes how traditional artistic forms were preserved through a virtual-based art festival performed by the art community, Komunitas Cermin Tasikmalaya. Solidarity, collaboration, and networking were crucial elements in holding the online festival in which young people were the main actors in this participatory culture, which was widely disseminated through YouTube
The Sundanese weekly magazine Manglé ; Fostering the growth of Sundanese literature as part of Indonesian cultural history
Reflecting on the evolution of the weekly Sundanese magazine, Manglé, since its establishment in 1957, this article traces the magazine’s vital role in fostering the growth of modern Sundanese writing. For the past 66 years, it has provided a platform for Sundanese writers to showcase their works, with numerous prominent authors gracing its pages. At the peak of its success in 1964, Manglé had a circulation of 70,000 copies, but its circulation has dwindled over time. The advent of the internet and social media has presented new challenges, compelling Manglé to struggle to recapture its former glory. However, the magazine remains an irreplaceable guardian of Sundanese literature and culture and fulfills a role that national media outlets cannot play. Sundanese writers choose Manglé to publish their Sundanese pieces, in preference to writing in Indonesian for broader circulation. This promotion of Sundanese writing can be traced chronologically through the influence and views of the editors-in-chief. Manglé’s unwavering championing of Sundanese language and literature is exemplary, and its continuing commitment to sustaining and supporting Sundanese socio-cultural events deserves proper recognition
Strategi Efektif dalam Kegiatan Penyusutan dan Pemeliharaan Arsip di Lembaga Kearsipan UPI

The purpose of this research is to find out the strategies or methods carried out by the institution in the depreciation and maintenance of archives. The research method in this article uses a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis of literature review, and data collection techniques are obtained through observation, interviews, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with related archivists. Overall, this research focuses on best practices that can be done in archive management to improve efficiency and effectiveness of sustainability. The strategies discussed include paying attention to the Archive Retention Schedule, the process of destroying archives is also certainly based on predetermined rules, as well as efforts to maintain physical and digital archives that have been carried out by the UPI University Archives institution. The research results from the implementation of this strategy show that the archives have proven to be well maintained, increase efficiency, and have the potential for an archive institution to get a better award or accreditation from ANRI. This article is expected to make an important contribution in sharing best practices in archival information management. Thus, related parties can jointly develop and improve problems that become deficiencies in information management, especially archives, so that in the future it can always run well in supporting activities in any archival institution, be it from government or private agencies, certain companies, to universities
Assessing Willingness to Pay for Parking Fees Among Residents: Evidence from Malang City
This study aims to investigate the willingness to pay (WTP) for user charges imposed by the local government using an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Viewing the local government as a service provider, the construct of perceived value is incorporated to determine behavioral intention toward user charges, marking a novel contribution of this study to the literature. Specifically, this study analyzes (1) the effect of each TPB construct—attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control (PBC)—on WTP, (2) the effect of perceived value on WTP, and (3) the indirect effect of perceived value on WTP mediated by TPB constructs. This study applied a cross-sectional survey with a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. The findings indicate that attitude does not significantly influence WTP, while subjective norms, PBC, and perceived value are significant predictors. The indirect relationship between perceived value and WTP was observed only through subjective norms and PBC
Determinants of Adolescent Resilience Levels in Surabaya City, East Java Province, Indonesia
Assessing adolescent resilience may provide valuable insights into adult resilience. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between determinants and adolescent resilience in Surabaya City. The participants of this cross-sectional study were 277 adolescents aged 12–19 years who were in senior high school. The outcome was the resilience levels. This study\u27s findings indicated relationships between resilience levels and stress experience (p-value = 0.01), access to mental health information (p-value = 0.00), life satisfaction (p-value = 0.00), family harmony (p-value = 0.03), presence of adults to share (p-value = 0.04), feeling safe at home, school, and community (p-value = 0.00), perception of ideal body image (p-value = 0.03), and suicidal urges (p-value = 0.00). The multivariate analysis showed that a variable related to resilience was satisfaction with life (p-value = 0.04, 95% CI 1.07–24.22). Adolescents dissatisfied with their lives had a 5.09-fold greater risk of developing into established categories of resilience. Therefore, intervention efforts are necessary to increase adolescents’ resilience levels
The Principle of Sustainable Development in International Investment Law: A Study from Vietnamese Perspective
International investment significantly contributes to economic development by fostering hunger eradication, poverty reduction, job creation, and the introduction of new technologies and services. However, it also presents challenges, including resource degradation, environmental decline, waste generation, and human rights violations. This article emphasizes integrating sustainable development principles into international investment law to balance investor and host country interests while safeguarding the environment and human rights for long-term sustainability. In Vietnam, a nation increasingly integrated into the global economy, legal frameworks stipulate sustainable development principles for foreign-invested projects, aligning with international standards to protect the environment and people alongside economic and social progress. Despite these efforts, Vietnam’s regulations exhibit limitations and unpredictability, hindering effective responses to potential international investment disputes. This study examines Vietnam’s approach to these principles and its practical implementation toward achieving sustainable development goals through investment, using case studies and conceptual analysis of international investment agreements. The central research question explores how Vietnam can leverage international investment benefits while ensuring sustainable development. The article analyzes the interplay between sustainable development and investment promotion, identifies key principles in investment agreements, and highlights challenges for host countries like Vietnam in managing expropriation disputes tied to public interest criteria. Findings underscore the need to prioritize sustainable development in attracting investment, proposing legal enhancements to strengthen state remedies against investor violations, and minimizing expropriation lawsuits. By addressing these gaps, Vietnam can better enforce sustainable practices, balancing economic gains with environmental and human rights protections. The research advocates for refined legal provisions to enhance Vietnam’s capacity to resolve disputes and uphold sustainable development commitments, offering actionable recommendations to perfect its legal framework in this domain
