PENERIMAAN SUAKA DAN PROSES MASUK PRANCIS PADA PEMERINTAHAN FRANCOIS HOLLANDE DAN EMMANUEL MACRON

    No full text
France embraces diversity in terms of religion, race, and ethnicity in its society. The arrival of migrants and foreigners, especially in the post-Second World War period contributed to France’s current demographic landscape. In dealing with the influx of population, France has adopted various immigration policies, as stated on the website of the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas, but has not significantly improved the current situation. As the immigration issue has continuously become prominent in French society, this research takes on comparing the policies carried by the governments of François Hollande and Emmanuel Macron on the issue while also taking into account their different political axes. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the political discourses embedded in the immigration policies between the Hollande and Macron administrations. This research makes use of available sources from the immigration policies of both governments during their five years in office. The data was collected by employing qualitative research methods by Iosifides combined with critical discourse analysis theory by Norman Fairclough and the concept of political ideology by D. Parenteau and I. Parenteau. The findings of this research suggest that Hollande\u27s leftist orientation contributed to his pro-people (immigrants) immigration policy, while Macron\u27s center orientation attempted to tighten the immigration policy towards foreigners

Indonesia ranks second globally in the number of tuberculosis (TB) cases, accounting for 10% of all global cases. In the working area of Kenarilang Public Health Center, 951 confirmed TB cases were recorded as of October 2024. Close contacts of TB patients are at high risk of infection and may become new sources of transmission if not properly managed. Knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) among close contacts play a crucial role in TB prevention, aligning with the target of TB elimination by 2030. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of close contacts and their KAP levels in TB prevention. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design involving 26 respondents in the working area of Kenarilang Public Health Center in November 2024. Data were collected using a structured KAP questionnaire and analyzed descriptively and bivariately. Chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test, and logistic regression test were used according to data type and distribution. A total of 65.38% of respondents demonstrated good knowledge. Attitudes were evenly split between positive and negative (50%), with the highest agreement on the importance of preventive therapy (89.74%). Meanwhile, 57.69% showed good preventive practices. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between age and practices (OR=1,244; p=0,017), income and attitude (p=0.048), residence and practices (p=0.014), and marital status and practices (p=0.020). Demographic factors play a role in shaping responses to KAP aspects of TB prevention, although several gaps remain. Data-driven interventions targeting specific demographic groups may be effective strategies for TB control. Keywords : Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, Close Contact, Tuberculosis Preventio

Peptic ulcer disease is a gastrointestinal disorder associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Enhancing the quality of life of patients with peptic ulcers often involves integrating conventional treatments with complementary alternative therapies. One such alternative therapy is herbal remedies, which local communities have long recognized. Sungkai leaves (Peronema canescens Jack) contain various bioactive components, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and phenolic compounds. This study aimed to assess the gastroprotective properties of sungkai leaf extract (Peronema canescens Jack) by analyzing the average size of gastric lesions in male Wistar rats exposed to absolute ethanol. The research used a true experimental design with a posttest-only control group approach involving six treatment groups, each consisting of four rats. Gastroprotective activity was macroscopically evaluated by measuring the average size of the gastric lesions. Statistical analyses were conducted using the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests for post hoc comparisons. Results showed that the normal group had an average lesion size of 0 mm, the negative control group had 115.37±50.53 mm, and the positive control group had 7.40±2.57 mm. For the groups treated with sungkai leaf extract, the 100 mg/kgBW dose resulted in 6.86±3.83 mm lesions, the 200 mg/kgBW dose in 9.65±10.27 mm, and the 400 mg/kgBW dose in 29.50±19.68 mm. Statistical analysis using SPSS 26 revealed a significant difference between the groups, with a Kruskal-Wallis test result of p=0.002. These findings show that sungkai leaf extract exhibits gastroprotective activity compared with omeprazole, as seen by the smaller average size of gastric lesions in male Wistar rats treated with absolute ethanol

Abstract The development of a region is frequently followed by the emergence of slum settlements which further obstruct the growth of productive activities. This study evaluates the effects of Slum Upgrading Program in Indonesia to the growth of small-micro industries, cooperatives, and hotels in slum area. By using difference in difference (DID) method, this study analysed 3427 villages in 33 provinces during 2016-2018. It was found that program increased the number of micro and small industries and hotels, and reduced the number of cooperatives. This finding indicated that mitigate slums effectively have an impact on the development of small industries and tourism facilities

Has Regional Hospital Autonomy Achieved Its Goals? Lessons Learned from Indonesia: A Systematic Review

    No full text
This study examined the impact of hospital autonomy implementation on the performance of regional public hospitals in Indonesia, particularly in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and governance. A systematic review of 32 peer-reviewed studies published between June 12 and September 6, 2023, was conducted using Garba Rujukan Digital and Google Scholar, following PRISMA guidelines. Studies addressing financial performance, service outcomes, and challenges related to implementing autonomy were included. The findings indicated that while autonomy led to improvements in infrastructure, service types, visit volumes, and hospital revenues, it had only a marginal impact on improving key health performance outcomes, such as service efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality, suggesting the core goals of autonomy had not yet been fully achieved. Key barriers included weak policy capacity, inadequate governance structures, and limited human resources. Unlike centrally managed hospitals, the success of regional hospital autonomy is significantly shaped by local institutional arrangements and the broader decentralization framework, which together influence hospitals’ capacity to manage their operations effectively

Low Economic Level and the Risk of Overweight Among Indonesian Junior and Senior High School Students

    No full text
Overweight and obesity among Indonesian adolescents have emerged as a pressing public health issue, reflecting global trends. This study examines the relationship between economic status and overweight prevalence among junior and senior high school students in Indonesia, using secondary data from the Global School-based Health Survey (GSHS). This study analyzed data from 9,977 students aged 11–18 years through a cross-sectional design and binary logistic regression, adjusting for dietary habits, physical activity, and sedentary behavior. Overall, 14.7% of students were overweight; the prevalence was notably higher among low-income students (27.4%) compared to high-income groups (14.2%). Students from lower economic backgrounds were 1.374 times more likely to be overweight (95% confidence Interval (CI): 1.011–1.867). Although many reported healthy behaviors, including regular fruit and vegetable consumption and participation in physical education, sedentary lifestyles and limited access to nutritious food remained significant challenges for low-income adolescents. These results highlight the complex interplay between economic status, health behaviors, and environmental factors, highlighting the need for targeted, equity-focused interventions to address disparities and curb obesity in Indonesia’s youth

Legal Perspectives on Information Asymmetry in Investor Selection for Public-Private Partnership Projects Under O&M Contract

    No full text
Information asymmetry is a common barrier in selecting investors in the form of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), especially in the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contracts. This issue arises from the natural information advantage of the construction contractor and the incumbent investor in construction and operation. Although it does not stem from misconduct, such asymmetry still affects competitiveness and selection efficiency. The article analyzes the causes and legal consequences of this phenomenon through a comparative review of Vietnamese and Canadian legal frameworks while also assessing selected projects. The research methodology includes theoretical analysis, legal comparison, and a review of practical literature. The findings highlight the need for regulatory intervention to ensure fair competition, with the key solution being the establishment of obligations to share project data for potential investors

THE POLITICAL FRAMING OF THE 2024 CHINA-INDONESIA JOINT STATEMENT

    No full text
Political leaders always carefully choose what to say and how to state it, as all words count for influencing the public, explicitly or implicitly. Eventually, the ideas framed in a political statement are best understood contextually rather than merely textually. After Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia, visited China in November 2024, both countries released a controversial joint statement. This article aims to analyse the political frames observable in the 2024 China-Indonesia joint statement with a discourse analysis method. The article found five political frames in the statement: 1) Indonesia agrees to China’s vision of global order; 2) China has a positive image as a trustworthy and non-discriminatory power; 3) Indonesia is open to intimate defence cooperation with China; 4) Indonesia aligns with and is on China’s side; 5) Indonesia supports China’s critical domestic and international ambition. With these findings, this paper argues that the joint statement is in favour of China politically and costs Indonesia its political image as a free, active, and democratic country
