Bohr's inequality on the unit ball of J*-algebra
application/pdfLet G be bounded domain in a complex Banach space X and B_Y be the unit ball in a J*-algebra Y. We will generalise Bohr's theorem to holomorphic mappings ? from G into B_Ydepartmental bulletin pape
On Hystereric dampers for steel buildings with bent steel plates (Part1 Loading tests on bent steel plate)
application/pdfIn this paper, the static characteristics of the hysterestic dampers with bended steel plates were investigated by cyclic loading test using partial specimens. The test parameters were the methods of connections and the number of dampers The test results showed that the hysterestic properties of this dampers were stable and the tensile strength was stronger than the compressive strength.departmental bulletin pape
A study on steel portal frame with non-slip-type exosed colum-base
application/pdfAnchor-bolt-yield-type exposed column bases are generally employed in steel buildings. Restoring force characteristics of the building deteriorate, because cyclic curves show slip behavior due to anchor-bolts yielding and rigidity of the column base decreases. Non-slip-type column bases were proposed by authors to improve slip behavior. In this paper, loading tests were carried out on steel portal frames with column base to clarify response of the frames.departmental bulletin pape
Basic consecutive system consisted of design, process, and estimation of small scale integrated circuits (SSI)
application/pdfDepartment of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of Hiroshima Institute of Technology have been teaching integrated circuit designs and processes of semiconductors since 1989 term. In Electronic Experiments III, students learned the primitive logic circuits such as NOT, AND, etc and their combination circuits that were expressed by schematic logic design using the Graphic Editor, one of the MAX-Plus II applications. Designed circuits were programmed for the FPGA device and the operation of the designed circuits is confirmed by using push switches and LED. Students designed the small scale integrated circuits (SSI) consisted of CMOS FET using α-SX Custom Design Platform (Jedat Innovation Inc.), and semiconductor processing for SSI in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park. The operation of the fabricated SSI was confirmed using ID-VD characteristic of CMOS FET by students in Electronic and Computer Engineering experiment C and D. They had the successful experience to design, and to test SSI in Electronic and Computer Engineering experiment C and D.departmental bulletin pape
Monotonic loading experiment on exposed column-bases subjected to shear and tensile force
application/pdfColumn-bases are generally designed to consider a bending moment and an axial force, and it is clear that the axial force affects strength and stiffness of anchor-bolt-yield-type exposed column-bases. The column-base with a brace is acted by a strong axial- force and a strong shearing force, then it can be destroyed by excessive shearing force. Therefore, a monotonic loading test on a braced frame with weak column-bases is carried out to clarify shearing fracture behavior of the column-base.departmental bulletin pape
Toward a Linking Education The Fourth Report: Survey and Improvement of the Linking between Basic Physics and Technical Subjects
application/pdfWe, the members of the physics group, have surveyed the linking education between basic physics and technical subjects in all the departments of our Institute. The whole picture of the linking is obtained by our examination, through a questionnaire to all professors and through discussions with every department and the mathematics group. In order to improve the linking that emerged from the picture, we propose not only effective measures which include new curricula of basic physics introduced in 2010, e.g. Physics of Matter and the Universe, but also new standards for AO examination and various types of admission through recommendation. Finally, we require our regular participation in new curriculum committees.departmental bulletin pape
A study on vibration behavior of Z-type non-compression braced frame
application/pdfA non-compression brace does not resist a compressive force but a tensile one by means of a wedge device. Therefore the brace does not buckle or loosen due to plastic elongation of the brace. Response of Z-type non-compression braced frame under dynamic loading is predicted to be one-sided. The Z-type brace is proposed as an earthquake resistant element with new behavior. Shaking table tests were carried out on one-storey Z-type braced frame specimens to clarify the one-sided response.departmental bulletin pape
A fundamental study on the sustainable system of “house・street・town” in the islands village. : Consideration of the Iwaishima village.
application/pdfThe aim of this study considers the sustained factors and the contents to form sustainable society for the solution of the environmental problem, and offers the basics documents. Three division is as follows when we examine the sustained factors in the Iwaishima-village. 1. About “a house” in the old materials use of the house. 2. About “Nerihei streets” in the Iwaishima-village. 3. About “a village” formed by “the KABU” of the group of the mutual support. We thought that the Iwaishima-village were sustainable society formed by an invisible system.departmental bulletin pape
A Study of the Castle Town Related to the Main Road Networks : Case Study of HIROSHIMA
application/pdfCity has different phases such as size, from, history and culture. Therefore, each city shows its characteristic, or color and scenery. But recently its identity has increasingly been lost because of introduction of innovational foreign culture and architecture. In this paper, the author classifies urban structures forming city into some patterns. Hiroshima was a bridgehead constructed by Mohri Terumoto, the first lord of Chosyu clan, for military and political purposes. At first, the castle town of Hiroshima had vertically-structured blocks, and then it had vertically-and-horizontally-structured blocks, which prospered as a merchant town.departmental bulletin pape
Maintenance Planning of Reinforced Concrete Deck Bridge under Chloride Contaminated Environment based on Minimizing of Expected Life-Cycle-Cost
application/pdfA maintenance planning method of a reinforced concrete deck bridge under chloride contaminated environment based on minimizing of the expected total life-cycle cost, namely the expected total LCC while maintaining the allowable lifetime reliability is developed. With this method, a lifetime optimization methodology for planning of the inspection and repair of the bridge that deteriorate over time is able to be numerically discussed. In this study, the effects of the timing of the inspection and repair of structures on the total life-cycle cost was especially investigated on the basis of the relationship between the amounts of the corrosion of steel rods and the crack width of the concrete.departmental bulletin pape
