Hiroshima image color changes with diverse backgrounds.
application/pdfOn this basis I then assigned the students to obtain and sample a color item typical of Hiroshima
and write a report. This required both field work and the use of reference materials. Even students
with little experience of writing reports were interested in the topic, and I gave a model to them and
to them explained how they should carry out their investigation. After setting similar assignments
for the pastsome years.
Based on statistical analyses of the reports submitted: “Impressive as an Urban Image in Kyoto”.
Before the fifth group carried out their assignment I showed them the published papers, which
included the names of students whose reports I cited, and nearly all the students voluntarily submitted
several reports each.
In choosing the present topic, I aimed to have the students sample Hiroshima’s color culture for
themselves, become aware of the long history behind its flavors, and come in contact with traditions
unique to Hiroshima. Of the 603 reports(82 reports in 2008)received in 2014-2023, most of the
students chose “red” from Miyajima, carp and a war. When they think of Hiroshima’s Red, every
gradation of feeling from joy to grief and history gave the image of color from red to Orange. Also, I
have compared vermilion-scarlet in Kyoto with red-crimson in Hiroshima. Color differs from city to
city, because each city has a long and glorious histry and changs its appearance as well as image of
color with surprising.departmental bulletin pape
Design of an ultrasonic vibration system for generating rotating sound field —Design with torsional-flexural composite transducers—
application/pdfRotating sound field excited by flexural vibration disk is used for some high-power ultrasonic
applications. To produce the traveling wave in the disk as the sound source, two standing waves
excited both spatially and temporally orthogonal to each other should be superimposed in the disk.
This paper presents a design of the system driven with torsional-flexural composite Langevin
transducers and an advantage of the system with four transducers for traveling wave excitation.departmental bulletin pape
Music generations based on broken chord —melody generations based on analyses of broken chord patterns in some pieces—
application/pdfFocusing on the musical theory of broken chords, we attempted to automatically generate main
melodies using broken chords. We created tunes by transforming and combining broken chord patterns
extracted from textbooks. The main melody was automatically generated based on the broken chords.
Even though most of the tunes were composed of broken chords, we were able to generate a variety
of songs. According to the results of the questionnaire survey, they said that the tunes feel natural
and familiar.departmental bulletin pape
On the Plan Configuration System in Junzo Yoshimura’s early residential works
application/pdfIn this paper, we will create and analyze three types of diagrams abstracting the plan of Yoshimura's
early residential works, and clarify the plan composition system in the subject works. In this paper,
these three types of diagrams are: Diagram A, which shows the function, form, size, and adjacency of
the elements composing the plan; Diagram B, which shows the connection relationship of the functions
of the elements composing the plan; and Diagram C, which shows the figure-ground relationship of
the exterior, interior other than the living room, living room, fireplace, and intermediate area in the
plan. Through these diagrams, we see the dining room as a node as a functional element and the
living room as a configurational node that generates a dynamic landscape. It was also evident that
many of the houses were found to have fireplaces that were back-to-back with the garden, revealing a
technique of shifting the visual view from the living room from the fireplace to the garden.departmental bulletin pape
Language and Quantum Theory: Comparing the Two Worlds
application/pdfThis essay examines the similarities between the characteristics of language proposed by
Ludwig Wittenstein and quantum theory organized by Paul Dirac. Wittgenstein, one of the most
influential philosophers in the 20th century, focused on our ordinary language after he recognized the
limitations of traditional philosophy. On the other hand, Dirac, the leading figure of quantum theory
who successfully combined the theory of relativity and quantum physics, by explaining the particles
at the core of quantum theory. It is apparent that these two people and their theory are quite different
from each other, however, we can see some similarities in their interpretation and attitude towards
academic explorations.departmental bulletin pape
