Investigation and Inspection of Downpour Disaster in Shobara by Satellite Remote Sensing

For example, the case of downpour disaster in Kii peninsula that was caused by typhoon Talas in 2011 was beyond the scope of supposition. Also, the debris was caused by the heavy rain various places in Shobara on July 16, 2010. The author investigated the disaster in Shobara by satellite remote sensing technology. It is effective for investigation of the disaster because this system can widely analysis and observation. Loading test on end-plate-type beam-joint connected by normal-bolts
Get PDFapplication/pdfColumn-bases and beam-to-column connections with the wedge-device show linear-from-origin-type and returning-origin-type restoring-force characteristics and reduce residual deformation of a framed structure after an earthquake. However, these connections have some problems that seismic responses of the structures may be larger than conventionally connected structures because of decrease of horizontal load-carrying capacity. Therefore, this paper proposes a new technique that the load-carrying capacity is equivalent to beam yield- type framed structures. FEM Analysis of Rehabilitated Angle Steel Member Bonding CFRP Plates
Get PDFapplication/pdfTo enhance the usage life of existing building a tensile force strengthening method with bonding carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CERP) plate has been developed by authors. To enhance the strength and deformation capacity of steel structure member, it is required a rehabilitation technique for compressive force strengthening as well as tensile force strengthening. There are two types of CFRP plate, TL (high-tenacity type carbon fiber) and ML (middle modulus type carbon fiber). This paper reports the result of loading tests and F.E.M analyses on a full scaled angle steel brace before and after rehabilitation using bonding CFRP pates. These results show enhanced compressive force carrying capacity and deformation capacity of brace by bonding CFRP plates and ML (middle modulus type) CFRP plates is more effective for enhancing compressive strength than TL (high tenacity type) CFRP plate.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFapplication/pdfFor the owners of wooden residential houses, the questionnaire survey by a paper was carried out on the consciousness about the earthquake-resistant diagnosis of the house and the earthquake resistant improvement. The investigation items were edited, based on “the questionnaire survey about the earthquake resistance of the house” performed by Hiroshima prefecture in 2006, and the answer was compared with the results of the prefecture. The purpose of the survey was intended to examine the difference of the consciousness answer to depend on the housing construction year that is 1) before 1961, 2) between 1962 through 1981, or 3) after 1982, widely used in the earthquake damage estimation by the local government.
