The Educational effects of on-site learning for Regional Space Design from the point of view of Engineering Design
application/pdfThe Engineering design is defined as “a design is to devise a good constitution for a target,” in the department of civil engineering and urban design. It is essential to have the planning ability for students working in the field of civil engineering after graduation. In addition, there is a need for educating engineer as design education in creative imagination.
“Urban Information and Design” in 2011 was carried out to educate students on the information obtained from the urban space itself as well as regional data and maps. And students are trained how to operate the space and the representation of urban space. “Designing Creative Space” was designed to educate the reading of the state of local space, analysis and utilizing its characteristics. The “Creative Space Practice” in 2012 is decided to work on regional planning as a development issue.
The three-dimensional landscape system was introduced in our department in 2011, in order to visualize contents of learning by visual and experimental study. Visual education was carried out on urban design and urban planning by 4D City Scape systems and by the projection the photo scenery 3D. As a final study by these devices in “Creative Space Practice”, the practice of regional and landscape planning in the actual area ”Miyajimaguchi” was made into this subject.
The three-dimensional landscape system makes the ability to experience a three-dimensional appearance of the city, to deeply understand the situation of urban space. We’d like to develop teaching materials and to educate by using this device.departmental bulletin pape
Restoring force characteristics of braced frame with anchor-bolt-yield-type exposed column-base
application/pdfAnchor-bolts of a column-base subjected to a bending moment are in a plastic region by rotational action of the base-plate. The column-base connected a brace member shows easy prediction of an elastic limit of the anchor-bolt because of linear relationship between the base-plate rotation and the story-displacement of the braced frame. The restoring force characteristics of the slip-type exposed column-base show an elastic stiffness decreasing due to a gap between the base-plate and the foundation. The non-slip-type exposed column-base shows simple restoring force characteristics without the complicated behavior of the slip-type column-base.departmental bulletin pape
Linear invariant families on the homogeneous ball of a complex Banach space
application/pdfWe study the notion of linear invariance on the unit ball of a JB*-triple X, and we obtain some connection between the norm-order of a linear invariant family and the starlikeness of order 1/2. Also, we give some result concerning the radius of univalence of some linear invariant families.departmental bulletin pape
Spectral Image Estimation with the Special Piecewise Parabolic Interpolation
application/pdfThe authors applied special piecewise parabolic interpolation (SPPI) to the spectral image estimation for the pattern separation which is based on double eigenvector analysis for orthogonal system. As a result of a measurement, interpolated images were obtained successfully.departmental bulletin pape
Shaking table tests on single-story anti-symmetric Z-type non-compression braced frame
application/pdfA non-compression brace developed by authors has useful mechanism resisting only tensile axial force by function of wedge-device. Z-type non-compression braced plane frames show one-directional horizontal deformation characteristics. Anti-symmetric Z-type non-compression braced space frames consisting of the non-compression-braces arranged in a same rotational direction possess high-level seismic capability and high degree of freedom of brace arrangement in seismic design. This paper shows fundamental characteristics of the anti-symmetric Z-type braced frame by use of the shaking table tests and numerical analyses.departmental bulletin pape
Relations between Superstructure-Score in the Earthquake-Proof Diagnosis and the Amount of Structural Walls of the Existing Wooden Houses against the Construction Year
application/pdfIn this study, the earthquake-resistant diagnosis scores of 43 existing wooden houses and the relations with the construction year are examined. The main results are as follows: positive correlation is recognized between the superstructure score and the construction year. There were some houses which did not have quantity of wall necessary for Japanese Building Code. Three types of joint specifications against columns and earthquake-resistant elements had relatively large effects on the superstructure score of the houses. It is shown that the house constructed after 2000 has a small eccentricity and well balance of the wall placement. However, among the houses constructed before 2000, there are some houses which are not consistent with a balance evaluation of the wall placement by the four division method and the eccentricity ratio.departmental bulletin pape
Earthquake response behavior of seven-story-three-layer framed structure with wedge-device connections beam-to-column connection
application/pdfEarthquake response analysis of steel framed structures with column-bases and end-plate type beam-connections by use of the wedge-device were carried out and the results showed reduction of residual horizontal displacements at each story. This paper proposes wedge-device beam connections with bolts guaranteed elongation capability until huge earthquake vibration. Earthquake response results of structures with various connections and column-bases show sufficient elongation of the bolts and effective function of the wedge-device for reduction of residual deformation.departmental bulletin pape
Search of biomarker genes for pseudomyxoma peritonei based on gene expression data analysis
application/pdfThis paper describes the way of detection of biomarker gene and getting the knowledge about tumor for cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei. We use the gene expression data for analysis. As a result, we succeed in finding candidates of biomarker genes.conference pape
Constructing a platform to automatically deliver learning materials for e-Learning Service with Learner Adaptation Functionality
application/pdfToday's e-Learning, integrating portable digital devices and common PC devices under well-maintained Internet infrastructure, provides convenient learning environment where everyone can learn when they need. In particular, self-study with simple multiple-choice questions mainly preparation of quantification examination by a learning management system(LMS)is available with no need to score by lecturer because usual LMS implements automatic scoring capability. However, this type of learning can only support just gathering of knowledge, but not the skill to leverage knowledge. Currently it has not been enough to provide learning contents with e-Learning which can automatically judge whether a user acquires a skill to utilize the knowledge, so the judgment has been manually operated. This paper develops a server program to automatically deliver learning materials consisted of some multiple choice questions for each user's portable digital device such as smartphone, and presents the concept to evaluate each user's learning effort. Based on the proposed solution, for realizing e-Learning service with learner adaptation functionality, the idea to make the learning contents facilitating the anchoring of knowledge available at PC device is discussed.conference pape
