Development of New Products in Employment Support Facilities for Persons with Disabilities

    Get PDF
We have developed and sell a new product in collaboration with an employment support facility for people with disabilities, so we would like to introduce this case study. To differentiate our project from other cases, we have reduced development costs by making use of existing manufacturing processes, and we have intended to play a role of barrier-free education for healthy parents and children by selling the product as an educational toy. For this purpose, we have developed a cube-type puzzle by collaborating with a social welfare corporation in Ehime prefecture, Japan. The manufacturing cost of the puzzle has been reduced by making use of the existing process and combining wooden cubes. The accuracy of dimension of the final product was accomplished to be less than 3% by using a manufacturing aid (i.e. jig).journal articl
