シガテラとは、毒化魚を摂食することに起因する、神経性異常を起こす世界最大の海産食中
毒である。本邦におけるシガテラは、主に亜熱帯域の沖縄において報告されてきた。しかし近年
は、温帯域の本州･四国においても散見され、地球温暖化に伴う海水温上昇に伴い、本邦温
帯域におけるシガテラの発生増加が懸念されている。本中毒の原因毒は、付着性渦鞭毛藻
Gambierdiscus 属により産生され食物連鎖により魚類に濃縮される。本藻は、これまでに 11 種
類が記載され、それぞれの毒性も大きく異なる。これまでに、本邦産本藻培養株の分子系統解
析が行われた結果、本邦には 2 つの系統型、すなわち Gambierdiscus sp. type 1 が沖縄沿岸
域に、G. sp. type 2 が本州･四国沿岸域に分布することが報告されている。しかし、本解析に用
いられた供試株数や、調査地点数は少なく、それらの形態学的特徴、毒性に関する知見も殆
んど無い。 
そこで、本邦におけるシガテラの発生を考える上で基盤となる知見を得るために、本研究では
まず本邦沿岸域における本藻の種組成を解明した上で、それらの分布状況や毒性を明らかに
する。さらに、本邦沿岸域における年間を通した本藻の動態を明らかにすると同時に、その発
生に影響を与え得る現場環境条件について考察する。さらに、本藻有毒各種 /系統型のモニタ
リングに資する、これらの特異的検出･定量法も開発しようとした。 
 
1) 分子系統ならびにその分布  
北海道から沖縄に至る地点から採取した海藻試料より、本藻培養株計 248 株を確立し、そ
れらの SSU rDNA に基づいた分子系統解析を行った。その結果、本邦には 5 種 /系統型  (G. 
cf. australes、G. cf. yasumotoi、Gambierdiscus sp. type 1、G. sp. type 2、G. sp. type 3)が存
在することが判明した。 
さらに、これら 3 つの系統型と本藻既報種との間の SSU rDNA に基づく遺伝的距離を算出し
た結果、いずれも種レベルの塩基置換を有することが明らかとなった。 
さらに、本邦各海域における本藻の分布状況について検討した結果、温帯海域では G. sp. 
type 2 の占める割合が高い一方で、亜熱帯海域では G. sp. type 1 および G. cf. australes が
優占して分布することが明らかとなった、また、G. sp. type 3 と G. cf. yasumotoi は、それぞれ本
州と沖縄沿岸域にのみ見られた。 
 
2) 形態学的特徴の検討ならびに種同定  
G. cf. australes 株について走査型電子顕微鏡を用いてその形態形質を精査した。その結果、

G. cf. australes は、前後圧縮型であること、狭い底板 2′′′′を有すること、鎧板表面が滑らかであ
ること、頂板 2 ′が長方形であることから G. australes と同定した。  
次に、G sp. type 1 株についてその形態形質を精査した。その結果、G. sp. type 1 は、G. 
belizeanus の形態形質を備えていた。その一方で、長方形の頂板 2′を有すること、非対称な前
帯板 3′′を有することにより、G. belizeanus と異なっていた。これより G. sp. type 1 を
Gambierdiscus scabrosus として記載した。 
 
3) 毒性  
マウスバイオアッセイにより、G. australes は強い毒性を、G. scabrosus と G. sp. type 3 は毒性
を示すことが判明した。一方、G. sp. type 2 は無毒であることが示唆された。 
さらに、これら G. australes と G. scabrosus の毒性に関する結果と、これらが優占する沖縄に
おいてシガテラがしばしば発生することを考え合わせると、これら 2 種が本邦におけるシガテラの
原因藻であることが示唆された。 
 
4) 動態と現場環境条件  
高知県土佐湾沿岸域の定点において、2007–2013 年にわたり本藻細胞密度を調査すると
共に、海水温および塩分を測定した。その結果、本藻細胞密度と海水温との間に有意な正の
相関  (r s = 0.21, p< 0.001)が、前者と塩分との間に有意な負の相関  (r s = -0.18, p< 0.001)が
見られた。また、冬季と春季に比べて、夏季と秋季において細胞密度が高くなることが明らかと
なった (Steel-Dwass test, p< 0.01)。 
 
5) 各種 /系統型の検出･定量法の確立  
有毒な G. australes、G. scabrosus、G. sp. type 3 および無毒と思われる G. sp. type 2 のそれ
ぞれを特異的に検出･定量可能な定量 PCR 法を開発した。現場海藻試料に付着する本藻各
種 /系統型の検出･定量を試みた結果、G. australes、G. scabrosus、G. sp. type 2 および G. sp. 
type 3 が検出され、それぞれの推定細胞数の合計値と、光学顕微鏡による直接計数値とは、
互いに近い値であったことから、本法は高い特異性と定量精度を有すると考えられた。

The recent rapid increase of the world population caused the demand of food, not only in quantity but 
also in quality. Among livestock production, poultry product is high quality and cheap. Due to these reasons, 
poultry industries have been rapidly increased and expended around the world. Use of effective feed additives is 
one method to improve the productive efficiency by improving feed quality, and/or animal performance and 
health. However, on 1 January 2006, European Union has banned products from animal fed antibiotic feed 
additive; because of drug residue and drug-resistant pathogenic genes transfer to consumer continually. As a 
result, alternative feed additive to substitute antibiotic have being attended.  
Viable probiotic supplementation has been reported to enhance intestinal microorganism and integrity 
in poultry for many decades. Recently, heat killed form also has been shown the similarly advantageous effect, 
moreover, it considers safety for the host, long shelf life and low cost for transport.  
Feed cost is also important because it is the main cost in broiler production, around 70% of production 
cost. Using by-product as a feed ingredient is good way not only to reduce feed cost but also is environmentally 
friendly manner. Improving by-product such as fermentation has been reported to be beneficial effect on 
chemical composition and productive performance of chicken. 
The concern of feed utilization is also important in animal nutrition, especially in fast growing hybrid 
broiler chicken. The broiler chicken needs high density of nutrition, including energy. Dietary fats are mainly 
energy sources in livestock feed, however, young chick, limited its ability to secrete bile salt that caused 
inefficient fat utilization in diet. Emulsifier supplementation as lysolecithin has been shown to increase feed 
digestibility and animal production. 
The intestinal epithelial cells play an important role in nutrient digestion and absorption in the 
meantime, are a natural barrier against pathogenic bacteria and toxic substance in the intestinal lumen, and are

also an immunological organ. Therefore, the intestinal alteration is closely related with feed consumption and 
animal health. The data of intestinal morphological changes can be used to explain the effective of feed 
substance on growth performance of broiler chicken.        
The objectives of the dissertation research was to evaluate feed substances as the followings: 1) 
probiotic as heat killed lactobacillus 2) by-product such as dried fermented ginger and spent mushroom 
substrate 3) lysolecithin on growth performance of broiler chicken using histological methods in 6 feeding trial  
Feeding trial 1: Study on the effects of dietary heat-killed Lactobacillus plantarum L-137 (HK-LP 
L-137) on growth performance and intestinal histology was carried out in broiler chickens. At 7 days old, male 
Marshall Chunky broiler chickens were divided in to 0, 1, 2 and 4 g/kg dietary heat-killed Lactobacillus 
plantarum L-137 (HK-LP L-137) with 4 replicates of 3 birds until 49 days of age. The growth performance and 
intestinal alteration were determined. At 49 days of age, 4 birds from each group were used for tissue sampling 
to observe histological intestinal alteration. The results found that feed intake (FI) was significantly increased (P 
< 0.05) in 2 and 4 g/kg HK-LP L-137 groups, and BWG of these groups had numerically higher than the 
control. The light microscopic parameters such as villus height, villus area, cell area and cell mitosis number did 
not show difference among groups in each intestinal segment. Duodenal and jejunal villus apical surface of 2 
and 4 g/kg HK-LP L-137 groups had many protuberated cells and cells having no microvilli. Ileal villus apical 
surface in 1, 2 and 4 g/kg HK-LP L-137 groups had many protuberated cells due to the increase of segmented 
filamentous bacteria. These results suggest that dietary HK-LP L-137 at 2 and 4 g/kg level increase the number 
of segmented filamentous bacteria which activate the intestinal function, resulting in increased BWG.       
Feeding trial 2: Study on the effect of heat-killed Lactobacillus sakei HS-1 (HK LS HS-1) on growth 
performance and intestinal histological alteration was done in broiler chickens. Seven day-old male Marshall 
Chunky broilers were divided into 4 groups; each group had 4 replicates of 4 chickens. Broilers were fed basal 
diet (control) and basal diet supplemented with 106, 107, and 108 heat-killed LS HS-1 until 49 days old. The 
results show that BWG and feed efficiency (FE) increased with increasing the level of HK LS HS-1 (linear; P < 
0.05), but FI did not differ among the groups. Mortality was 18.75% in the control group, but it was 0% in all 
experimental groups. Gross anatomical alterations in the visceral organs did not differ among the groups, except 
for a decreased ileal weight in the 108 HK LS HS-1 group (P < 0.05). The light microscopic parameters such as 
villus height, villus area, cell area, and cell mitosis number did not differ among the groups. Epithelial cells on 
the duodenal villus apical surface of the HK LS HS-1 groups showed protuberated cells, few recently exfoliated 
regions on villus tip, and deeper cells at the sites of recently exfoliated cells, suggesting that the intestine of

broiler fed HK LS HS-1 groups were hypertrophic. This result corresponded with the increased region of 
integrated optical density value that was the degree of protuberance cells on the villus apical surface using 
digital microscopic. In addition, the values of gelsolin, anti-apoptotic caspase-3 and co-localization of 
membrane transport were also increased with increasing levels of HK LS HS-1. These results suggest that HK 
LS HS-1 can improve growth performance by prolonging the detention period of intestinal cells on the villus 
apical surface due to increased gelsolin, especially at the 108 HK LS HS-1 level.  
Feeding trial 3 and 4: Effects of dried fermented ginger (DFG) on growth performance, carcass quality 
and intestinal change of broiler chickens were investigated under tropical area. There were 2 feeding trials to 
confirm the results of DFG. The feeding trial 1 was carried out in winter season and experimental period was 
7-42 days of age. Feeding trial 2 was reared in summer season and experimental period was 7-49 days of age. 
Feeding trial 1: Three hundred and fifty seven-days of age Arbor Acres strain broiler chicks of both sexes were 
divided into 7 treatments with 5 replicates of 10 birds. The dietary treatments were basal diet (control), 0.25 
(0.25 S), 0.5 (0.5 S) and 1 (1 S) % DFG fed from 7-42 days of age. The remaining groups were 0.25 (0.25 F), 
0.5 (0.5 F) and 1 (1 F) % DFG fed from 22-42 days of age. Experimental diets of all groups were formulated to 
equal the nutrient requirement (23% CP; 3205 kcal/kg for 7-21 days of age, 20% CP; 3205 kcal/kg for 22-49 
days of age). This feeding trial was reared in winter season that was average temperature equal 24ºC. Feeding 
trial 2: Three hundred and fifty one-day-old Arbor Acre strain male broiler chicks were provided from a 
commercial hatchery. At 7 days of age, birds were divided into four treatments with five replicates of ten birds. 
The treatments were similar with feeding trial 1, while as feeding trial 2 was carried out in summer season 
(average temperature =31ºC). In both feeding trial 1 and 2, feed and water were fed ad libitum and provided 
light all day. At 14 and 28 days of age, all chicks were vaccinated against infectious bronchitis and Newcastle 
disease. At the end of feeding trial 2, four birds shown average weights were collected for observe intestinal 
histology, and the 8 birds were for gross anatomical observation of abdominal organs as well as for carcass 
characteristics. For feeding trial 1, the BWG, FI and FE were not significantly different among the groups (P > 
0.05). In feeding trial 2, compared with control, BWG, FI, FE and carcass quality were not different among all 
groups. However, abdominal fat decrease in 1 S, 0.5 F and 1 F (P < 0.05) groups. Intestinal villus height, villus 
area and cell area were not different in each intestinal segment among groups, but cell mitosis number of 
duodenum tended to increase in 1 S group (P < 0.1). Epithelial cells on the villus apical surface were 
protuberated in the duodenum of 1 S and 1 F groups. In jejunum, desquamations were observed due to heat 
stress in the control, 0.25 S, 0.5 S, 0.25 F and 0.5 F, but the desquamation was reduced in 1 S and F dietary

DFG groups. However, there was no difference on the ileal villus apical surface and segment filamentous 
bacteria among groups. These results suggest that DFG supplementation at 1% in broiler chickens during 7-49 
days of age may be improve production, carcass quality and activate proliferation of intestine under high 
ambient temperature.  
Feeding trial 5: Study on effect of spent mushroom substrate (SMS) in diet on growth performance, 
organ weight and intestinal histology was carried out in broilers chicks. Sixty four male 7 days old Marshall 
Chunky strains were allocated into 4 groups with 4 replicates of 4 chickens: basal diet was diluted by 0, 0.5, 1.0 
and 10.0% SMS until 49 days of age. The results found that BWG and FI increased (quadratic; P < 0.05) with 
increasing the level of SMS, but FE did not differ among groups. The jejunum length tended to decrease in 0.5 
and 1% SMS. Gizzard and jejunal weight were tended to increase in 10.0% SMS. The duodenal villus height 
increased (P < 0.05) in 0.5% SMS than in the control. Villus area increased linearly (P < 0.05) in ileal segment, 
but no change in duodenum and jejunum. As well as cell area in all intestinal segments were not different among 
the groups. On the epithelial cells of the intestinal villus apical surface, many protuberated cells were observed in 
10% SMS in all of segments. The integrated fluorescence density values of proliferating cell nuclear antigen 
staining in broiler fed 0.5% SMS groups showed stronger reaction than control (P < 0.05), but the 1.0 and 10.0% 
SMS groups were not different. These results suggest that 0.5 and 1.0% SMS may be useful as growth 
production of broiler due to hypertrophied villi and activated the cell proliferation.  
Feeding trial 6: Study on the influence of dietary fat sources and lysolecithin on growth performance, 
visceral organ, and histological intestinal alteration was investigated in broiler chicken. Ninety-six seven-d-old 
male Marshall Chunky chickens were placed into 8 groups in a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement with two dietary 
levels of fat sources and lysolecithin (0 and 145 mg/kg dietary lysolecithin) with 4 replicates of 3 birds. The fat 
sources were chicken oil and yellow grease from the Kagoshima, Kashima and Hachinohe areas of Japan. There 
was no difference in BWG due to dietary fat sources, lysolecithin, or lysolecithin × fat source interaction 
throughout the experiment. After feeding dietary lysolecithin, FE increased during the growth period of 7–21 
days of age, and the intestinal weights of the duodenum, ileum and total intestine decreased (P < 0.05). Most of 
the intestinal villus height, villus area and cell area were not different among groups, except ileal villus height 
tended to decrease and ileal cell area tended to increase (P < 0.10). Increased duodenal cell mitosis and decreased 
jejunal tunica muscularis thickness were observed (P < 0.05). On the villus apical surface, more protuberated 
cells, cell clusters and deeper cells at the sites of recently exfoliated cells were observed. The integrated 
fluorescence density values of Anti- Cluster of Differentiation 36 reaction in the jejunum were significantly

higher in dietary lysolecithin (P < 0.05), except YG1 as a fat source group. These results suggest that dietary 
lysolecithin improves FE during 7-21 d of age and the morphology of epithelial cells show hypertrophy.  
From the above study concluded that the dietary heat-killed Lactobacillus, both L. plantarum L-137 and 
L. sakei HS-1 induced hypertrophied epithelial cells. Furthermore, L. sakei HS-1 prolonged detention period of 
cell on the intestinal villus apical surface, resulting in improved growth performance. These results suggested 
further studying the combination of microorganism and high fiber by-product in the next application. DFG 
supplementation tended to increase cell mitosis number and hypertrophied cells of intestinal villus apical surface. 
In addition, dietary DFG decreased abdominal fat, resulting in increased broiler production under heat stress. 
From the results obtained in previous study, the spent mushroom substrate (SMS) of enoki mushroom which 
includes microorganism and extra cellular enzyme was emphasis to use in diet. The SMS increased BWG as well 
as stimulated intestinal histological parameter. From the above substances, mode of action mostly affected on 
intestinal balance. Another feed additive to stimulate feed utilization was approached by supplementing 
lysolecithin which is exogenous emulsifier. The lysolecithin improved growth performance due to cellular fat 
absorption.  
The non-antibiotic feed additive such as heat-killed lactobacillus, by-product such as DFG and SMS, 
and exogenous emulsifier are able to improve growth performance by hypertrophying intestinal villi and 
epithelial cell in broiler chickens. These results might contribute to poultry industries by producing safety

上塩尻村 縁組・移動概観

 宗門改帳と家系図とを照合した上で縁組に関する簡単なデータベースを作成した。データ生
成中に時期やマケ・家毎による差異が知覚されており、ここでまず数値を一括して扱うのはそ
うした時系列的変化ないし個別事象の偏差をたどる目安としたいからである。 
 
１ データ概観 
 まず現在、本上塩尻村研究は、史料の充実度としてはモノグラフレベルでは世界的にもほと
んど類を見ない。そのため、ここで用いるように宗門改帳および村内の家系情報を遍く収集し、
縁組を時系列的に貫高情報とともに一覧にした研究も管見の限りではあるが存在しない。もち
ろん、家族史・家系譜という形で個々の家の詳細な歴史はあり、それらは縁組についても詳し
い。だが、村・コミュニティ単位で他の家々との相互の連関を網羅したものは、まず見あたら
ない。そのため、本データを扱う方法についても参考とする事例がなく、方法確立を急いでい
る。 
 家系図のみの時期：扱う期間としては、筆頭に記載されている佐藤総本家善右衞門初代は天
文7（1538）年の没年が記載され、宗門改帳残存確認は天明3（1783）年からであるため、そ
のままであれば2世紀半ということになる。だが、佐藤家でさえ、詳細がつかめるようになる
のは最初の分家であり筆頭分家である八郎右衞門家を出す8代目以降である。それは8代目の没
年は寛文3（1663）年（この年代は確か洪水で本宿を中心に村が壊滅的な影響を受けたときで
はなかったか？）となっている。とすれば、実質的な期間は1世紀半程度ということになるだ
ろう。もちろんそれでも宗門改帳がカバーする期間が慶応4（1868）年までで90年弱なので、
幾分長い。また、宗門改帳もすべての年度の記録が揃っているのではない。天明期以降寛政期
まで、欠年が多い。家系図情報のみが入手可能である場合、宗門改帳残存開始以降でも、そち
らを用いている。比較的新しい世代が一覧に含まれるのはそのためである。 
 ここでは、佐藤八郎得衛門忠恕編になる上塩尻村各家系図の記載をたどり、データを251件
得ている。家系図情報を扱う場合、あらかじめ問題となる点がいくつかある。まず、佐藤八郎
右衞門家の編纂になるものであるため、やはり佐藤家に情報が偏る。251件中72件、と全体の3
割である。もっとも、佐藤家以外でも分家創成の経緯などの記載はさすがに詳しい。次いで宗
門改帳と異なり、縁組がいつ行われたのかは不明である。家系図の系列でおおよその時期を計

るしかない。参考までに「・・以前」とした年は本人ないし配偶者の没年であり、ほとんどは
高齢であり、縁組のなされた年からはほど遠い場合が多いとみなければならない。 
 さらに、対象の8割以上が女子であり、名前がわからない場合も多い。佐藤家の女子であれ
ば通例わかるが、他では記載のない事例がほとんどである。 
 貫高についても可能な限り情報として付加した。家系図の場合には、縁組の時期が確定でき
ない場合の方が多いため、それに近いと想定される年度の数値を選択した。年度を（）に入れ
たのは、その検討をする際に遡りやすいようにという配慮である。 
 また、村内の縁組を扱う際には、家格の検討のために、移動元と移動先双方の家系図座標お
よび貫高をも付け加えた（備考2の欄）。ただし、あらかじめ述べておくと、情報が揃う件数
はあまり多くない。 
 繰り返すが、家系図情報は、常にあくまで記録に出てくる限りにおいてのものであることを
念頭におくべきである。 
 
２ 系譜関係の成立と縁組：家系図情報から 
  上塩尻村では、家業・家産・家名を検討すると、「家」の成立は18世紀中葉以降と見るのが
妥当なようである。この点は、平井晶子氏のサーヴェイとも付合する。ここでは、さらに同心
円的に表現すると、「家」in 「同族」in 「村」in 「域内親族・姻戚網」の観点から系譜関係に
ついて考える。とくにあらかじめ述べてしまえば、「家の存続戦略」は上塩尻の場合、佐藤家
総本家および筆頭分家においては意識されたであろうが、他のマケの場合には19世紀以降に適
用されるのではないか。存続させる基盤が十分に成立していない、それほど代を重ねていない
場合には、「家」の存続よりも、個々人の生活の安定が、村における相互給付の連関の中で第
一義として求められたのではないか。そしてまた、「同族」も系譜関係が根幹であるとするな
ら、系譜なかんずく家系図が作成されることとあいまって成立していったものと考えている。
少なくとも上塩尻の家系図を見る限り、同族および家の成立は3世代ほどの期間でなされうる
ようである。したがって、その都度の状況で、縁組・分家も個々人および家のライフサイクル
に応じて選択されていったと見た方が、妥当なのではないか。 
 
 佐藤家を中心視座とした家系図編纂であるため、佐藤家情報がもっとも充実しており、件数
も251件中72件、と全体の3割を占めるのはやむを得ない。主要マケでは、山崎家26件、清水
家29件であるが、意外に馬場家が62件と多い。これは佐藤家に縁組などを通じて比較的近いこ
と、他の事例でもみるように、総本家そのものは衰えるもののマケ全体としてはまとまりがよ
いことと関係する。原家は22件、春原23件、残る14件が他家である。マケ毎の縁組・姻戚関係
については家系模式図（GBox）を用いて宗門改帳データと連結させ、後節で詳述する。ここ

で述べておくこととしては、きわめて自然なことながら、村で長く続き、勢威をなせば村内外
での縁組みも増えるといえるし、その逆もまた真、ということである。さらに、一度縁組みが
なされると、その伝手でということになるのか、やりとりが重なることも、よく見られる。こ
れも上塩尻の範囲に限ったことではない（事例：山崎家清水忠助家常田村の代々相互縁組）。
慣行化の端緒がここに現れているものと見るべきである。 
 移動という点ではどうなるか。転入が92件（佐藤 28; 山崎6;清水10; 馬場 25; 原8; 春原11; 他4）、
転出が70件（佐藤 21; 山崎 7;清水10; 馬場 25; 原 4; 春原3; 他 1）、村内が88 件（佐藤マケ内8件/
村内26件; 山崎3/13;清水2/9; 馬場7/12; 原4/10; 春原2/9; 他 1/9）である。その分布構成をみると、
馬場家は村内での縁組が少なく、外とのやりとりが多い。本宿を基盤に経済活動が比較的活発
で纏まりが良いことと表裏をなすものと思われる。春原家で出るものは少なく入る者が多いの
は、やはり外部から入る際上塩尻村内に縁故があまりない場合、この春原家の筋から入る者が
多かったからではないか また、村内での縁組みが全体の3分の1程度というのは、イギリスの
ウィリンガム教区の事例と同様である。もちろん、家系図に記載されない縁組は村内に比重が
増すと思われる。だが、その村内の縁組でも、同族・マケ内の縁組となると26件、全体の1割
という値は、予想外に少ない、と言わざるを得ない。内訳は佐藤家8件、馬場家7件、山崎家3
件、清水家2件、原家3件、春原家2件、高遠家1件である。この少なさは、上塩尻における分家
創成の過程が、別稿で論じたように、ときに数世代を要することから、名跡をつぐための養子
分家など明白なもの以外は「異動」としてそのタイミングが表れないことに起因するものと思
う。この点は、男子の移動についての記載がきわめて少ないことと表裏をなす。「出」70件中
男子の事例は3件のみであり、その内訳は山崎家で江戸に出た者1名、馬場家からが2件で、1
名は村内、1名は隣村の秋和である。「入」91件では11件が男子であり、春原・清水が4件ずつ
に山崎・原・塚田が1件ずつと佐藤や馬場が登場せず、分散傾向の強いマケのみである。村内
88件の場合には、マケ内縁組も多い、佐藤家・原家など4件ずつを含む17件である。 
 宗門改帳における単位分けも即分家とはみなしがたい、とは既に論じた（モノグラフ第1巻
第2章第4節）。今では、実は家系図そのものが数世代を経てようやく認知される分家創成の過
程をまとめたものである、と考えている。家系図があっての本家であり、分家、というわけな
のである。過程そのものが重視されるということになる。 
 村内での縁組をみると、格式もあったろうが、佐藤総本家や筆頭分家を除き、各マケ全体が
新たに「家」を確立するときであったために、意外に村内にこだわらず、また村内でも総本家
や筆頭分家以外であれば、割合拘束なく縁組がなされていたように思われる。傾向としては、
佐藤家と馬場家との縁組みは目立つ。これは馬場家の事例が多いことと表裏をなす。次に目に
とまるのが清水家である。これも総本家に近いところが佐藤家と縁組みがかわされているよう

だ。転じて、佐藤家と山崎家とは縁組みがあまりない。唯一の事例は、佐藤家でも末席の筋で
ある。 
 貫高との照合は材料がとぼしく、また縁組の時期特定がむずかしいため、あくまで傾向を示
すのみである。移動元・移動先双方で貫高がわかるのは村内13件であり、そのうち7件が同族
内である。内訳は佐藤家3件、山崎家1件、馬場家3件である。佐藤家の場合、実は2件は筆頭分
家の縁組であるため、貫高の差が大きい。残り1件も分家同士であるが、貫高の開きは明白で
ある。山崎家の場合は、ほぼ同格であろうし、馬場家の場合も同様であるといえる。 
 村内で、他のマケとの縁組で貫高が先元双方わかるのが、6件である。3件は佐藤家が関与し、
いずれも分家同士、相手は清水家が1件、馬場家が2件、貫高でならしてみると概ね同格であっ
た。残る3件も山崎—春原家、北澤—春原家、北澤—滝澤家、分家同士で貫高も大差ない。 
 これを見ると、縁組は分家同士、また貫高も大差ない、というものが多い。ただし、これを
もって「家」存続のための戦略の結果とは見なしがたい。当事者にとって無理のない選択をし
た、ということではないか。 
 
３ 宗門改帳情報から 
 天明3年（1783）年以降慶応4（1868）年までの上塩尻村宗門改帳の付箋を通して得られる
縁組みは、1076件である。帳外は省いた（「帳外」の者は籍に関する考察とともに、また別稿
でおこなうとよい。村払いとの区別もその際に考えたい）。移動とは別の次元の事柄とみなし
たからである。 
 まず概観ということで数値をみよう。村入りは511件、村出は408件、村内158件である。村
外との縁組においては記録が完備しておらず即断しがたいが、5対4で入超である。  
 上塩尻村総人口は、その停滞を特徴とするが、それでも天保年間までは微増している。その
微増も出生と言うよりは、この入超に原因が求められると考えている。村入りでは、もともと
は上塩尻村から出て離縁により村に戻った事例54件を含む。また村出では109件が離縁により
村から転出した。男女別でいえば、村入りは女性420件・男性91件、村出は女性331件・男性
77件であり、女性は男性に対して4･5倍になる。これは、男性の養子などの縁組が総体的に少
ないことの反映である。 
 家系内でも遷移があるため、家系図との照合結果については次節にまわすが、マケ毎に概観
すると以下のようになる。村入りについては佐藤家68件（女子51件：男子17件；出戻り11：
内男子2）、山崎家46件（女子45：男子1；出戻り3：内男子1）、清水家71件（女子59：男子
12；出戻り7：内男子0）、馬場家47件（女子40：男子7；出戻り6：内男子1）、原家31件（女
子22：男子9；出戻り5：内男子0）、春原家72件（女子63：男子9；出戻り9：内男子1）、そ
の他176件（女子140：男子36；出戻り12：内男子1）。佐藤家や原家のような総本家が長く続

く家系は養子・婿養子が多い傾向にある。山崎家の場合、総本家が早くから途絶えたとはいえ、
養子の必要はあったのは、男子があまり産まれない家系である忠之丞家系統などにとどまる。
それ以外は、分家をたくさん出す五郎右衞門家を例として、男子が多く、養子入りの必要がな
かったものと思われる。したがって外にも比較的出ない傾向も見られた。その点、やはり総本
家が事実上途絶えたものの、本宿を中心に「開拓」を進め分家が自身の分家を増やした馬場家
でもその傾向はある。他方、春原家の場合はもともと総本家のような存在はなく、村内でのや
りとりも比較的多いので、女子の嫁入りが多い。また、その外からの養子入りの多さは、比較
的伝手のない者が擬制的に村入りをする場合の受け口になったことを想起させる。 
 村出についても同様にみてみる。佐藤家55件（女子47件：男子8件；出戻し17：内男子3）、
山崎家43件（女子32：男子11；出戻し14：内男子2）、清水家50件（女子38：男子12；出戻り
11：内男子3）、馬場家47件（女子39：男子8；出戻し7：内男子1）、原家22件（女子17：男
子5；出戻し3：内男子1）、春原家51件（女子46：男子5；出戻し12：内男子1）、その他140
件（女子112：男子28；出戻し52：内男子12）。 
 村入りにくらべ、村出はマケ毎の偏差が小さい。強いて言えば男子が村から比較的出るのが
多いのは山崎家と清水・原家である。いずれも分家を多く出すが、それ以上に男子が多かった
という見通しがたつ。 
 宗門改帳での村内縁組は対象時期を通じて158件で全体の15％ほどである。同族内は79件と
その半分をなす。だが、そのうち、27件は相戻り・相戻し、すなわち離縁であるため、縁組の
実数は131件で、全体の1割強になり、同族内婚は69件にとどまる。その内訳は佐藤家16件（内
9件が同族内）、山崎家8件（同族内3件）、清水家17件（同族内7件）、馬場家11件（同族内9
件）、原家14件（同族内8件）、春原家21件（同族内14 件）、他44件（同族内19件）である。 
 
 基本的に、上塩尻村内の縁組は積極的になされていたようには思えない。むしろ、外部に縁
を求める場合が多かったのか、あるいは市場機会とともに縁談の機会も広がったのではないか。
とくに、同族内でとなると69件である。村内縁組131件中春原家と諸小マケが65件、と主要マ
ケ以外のマケで全体の半分を占めているのは注目に値する。春原家の場合には、マケ名を同じ
くするも同族意識が弱かったと思われ、かえって縁組を結びやすかったと思われる。他方、山
崎は村内であっても、また同族内にあっても僅かである。分家は多いが養子は少なく、また、
村内でも縁組が少ないということで、同族全体としての認識は自他共に薄かった。
