    Natural co‐occurrence of aflatoxins and ochratoxins in rice from Northern Vietnam

    ベトナム北部の精白米のAFsとOTsの汚染調査を行った。精白米は農家に保存してあった32検体、市場で市販されていた精白米32検体とスーパーマーケットで市販されていた30検体の合計94検体をイムノアフィニテーカラム‐HPLC法で分析した。その結果、27検体(28.7%)からAFB1が全検体平均で0.189μg/kgが検出され、19検体(20.2%)からAFB2が全検体平均で0.019μg/kgが検出された。AFG1とAFG2は検出されなかった。総AFsの全検体平均濃度は0.208μg/kgであった。また、11検体(11.7%)からOTAが検出され、全検体平均値は0.020μg/kgで、6検体(6.4%)からOTBが検出され、全検体平均値は0.012μg/kgであった。OTsの汚染はかなり低かった。農家から収集した精白米は32検体中8検体(25.0%)からAFB1が検出され、全検体平均値は0.434μg/kgで最も高かった。総AFsの全検体平均値は0.474μg/kgであった。ベトナムのAFB1の規制値の2μg/kgを超えている検体は3つであり、総AFsの規制値の4μg/kgを超えている検体は1つであった。市場とスーパーマーケットで購入した精白米の総AFs汚染率はそれぞれ34.3%と26.7%であり、総AFsの全検体平均汚染濃度はそれぞれ0.094と0.046μg/kgであり、統計的有意差はなかった。以上の結果から、ベトナム北部の精白米は、農家から収集したものが比較的高濃度のAFsに汚染されていたが、市販されている精白米はAFs汚染があるものの低濃度であった。Natural co‐occurrence of aflatoxins (AFs) and ochratoxins (0TA) in 94 of polished rice in northern Vietnam. A total of 94 samples of polished rice, 32 samples stored at farmers, 32 samples of polished rice sold at the market, and 30 samples sold at supermarkets, were analyzed by the immunoaffinity column‐HPLC method. As a result, AFB1 was detected at an average of 0.189 μg/kg in 27 samples (28.7%), and AFB2 was detected in 19 samples (20.2%) at an average of 0.019 μg/kg. AFG1 and AFG2 were not detected. The average concentration of total AFs in all samples was 0.208 μg/kg. OTA was detected in 11 samples (11.7%), with a mean value of 0.020 μg/kg for all samples, and OTB was detected in 6 samples (6.4%), with a mean value of 0.012 μg/kg for all samples. Contamination of OTs was fairly low. AFB1 was detected in 8(25.0%) out of 32 samples of rice collected from farmers, and the average value for all samples was 0.434 μg/kg, which was the highest. The mean value of total AFs was 0.474 μg/kg. Three samples exceeded the regulatory limit of 2 μg/kg for AFB1, and one exceeded the regulatory limit of 4 μg/kg for total AFs set by Vietnam. The total AFs contamination rates of milled rice purchased at markets and supermarkets were 34.3 and 26.7%, respectively, and the average concentrations of total AFs in all specimens were 0.094 and 0.046 μg/kg, respectively, with no statistically significant difference. Based on the above results, the polished rice collected from farmers in northern Vietnam was contaminated with relatively high concentrations of AFs, while the commercially available polished rice was contaminated with AFs, but the concentrations were low.departmental bulletin pape

    Prognostic significance of tumor budding in patients with pancreatic invasive ductal carcinoma who received neoadjuvant therapy

    香川大学Kagawa University博士(医学)Neoadjuvant therapy is commonly used for invasive pancreatic ductal carcinoma (PDAC). Tumor budding and high podoplanin expression in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are prognostic factors in patients with various carcinomas including PDAC who have not received neoadjuvant therapy. In this study, we investigated whether tumor budding and podoplanin-positive CAFs are associated with outcomes in Japanese PDAC patients with neoadjuvant therapy. Histopathological findings of surgically resected PDACs with neoadjuvant therapy from 2005 to 2018 were reviewed (n = 97). With reference to International Tumor Budding Consensus Conference recommendations, tumors were evaluated for budding at 20 × magnification (/0.785 mm2) and at 40 × magnification (/0.237 mm2; mean number of fields: 3) for podoplanin expression in CAFs (%). Overall survival, disease-free survival, and disease-specific survival (DSS) were analyzed using the log-rank test and Cox proportional hazards model. After adjusting for T category, N category, resection margin, and adjuvant therapy, multivariate analyses demonstrated that tumor budding at 40 × magnification was an independent prognostic factor for worse DSS (hazard ratio: 2.41, p = 0.022). Tumor budding at 20 × magnification and podoplanin-positive CAFs tended to be associated with worse DSS; however, these findings were not statistically significant.
