An education of statistics literacy using familiar data
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal Article近年、インターネットを通じて大量のデータを取得することができるようになり、取得したデータを処理する（ビッグデータ解析）ための能力が求められている。しかし、ビッグデータ解析を行うためには、インターネット上から目的に合ったデータを取得する能力と取得したデータを適切に解析する統計処理の能力が必要になる。このためには、単に統計処理技術を修得しているだけではなく、多くの経験から導かれる実践力が必要である。現在、多くの大学で統計教育がなされ、大きな成果を得ているが、実際のデータを適切に用いるための実践力を養成する講座については、まだ試行錯誤の段階である。正しくビッグデータ解析を行うためには実データを用いて実践力を養成する必要がある。そこで著者は、統計の基本的な技術を身近なデータを用いて修得し、ビッグデータ解析への第一歩を踏み出す能力を養成する講座を企画した。講座は、実験結果の分析などで実際のデータに統計処理を適用する機会が多くあると考えられる健康栄養学科の学生に対して、希望者を募って実施しているが、本稿でその途中経過について報告する。journal articl
Investigation into Japanese Early Childhood Care and Education Professionals’ Consciousness of Language Development in Children (3) : Influence of verbal communications skills on children’s lives
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal Article保育者が子どもの言葉の力の育ちについてどのようにとらえ、またどのような援助を意図しているのかを明らかにすることを目的として、半構造化面接調査を行った。その調査内容のうち、言葉の力の育ちが、現在の園生活や未来の生活にどのような影響を及ぼすと保育者がとらえているかについて分析・考察を行った。その結果、園生活で言葉の力がある子どもは、コミュニケーションが成立しやすく、様々な人と関わり、その中で興味・関心の幅、体験が広がると捉えていることがみえてきた。また、子どもたち同士の中で、リーダー的な役割をとる体験を重ねていることや、遊びの中心になることで、遊びの満足度が高いのではないかと捉えている傾向がみられた。さらに、やりたいことや自分のアイデアが言葉で表現されることで、保育者の援助がなされやすくなり、その子ども自身がやりたかった遊びができたり、アイデアが形になっていく体験がなされやすいと捉えている保育者もみられた。未来の生活への影響として、保育者は話せた方が社会に出たときにコミュニケーションがとれる、学校生活への適応において大切な力となるとの捉えをしていたが、全体としては漠然とした内容となっていた。A semi-structured, interview style survey was conducted to explore how early childhood education professionals and daycare teachers approach the development of verbal communication skills of the children in their care, and what, if any, activities they consciously employ to that end. This paper summarizes a component of the data that illustrates what effects these professionals and providers consider verbal communications skills to have on children’s experiences at daycare and in their future lives. The respondents believe that children with developed verbal communication skills can easily manage their interactions and interact with a variety of people, which in turn allows them access to a wide range of feelings and experiences. Furthermore, the respondents sensed that children with high verbal communication abilities tended to take on leadership roles during play and other children gravitated towards them. The respondents said that this led to seemingly high levels of satisfaction in the communicative children. The respondents sensed this might be due to the connection between children’s abilities to express their needs and ideas clearly, thereby making it easier for teachers and caregivers to respond to their needs, more cooperation from peers in accepting their ideas in play, and in general having their ideas come to fruition. In addition, respondents said that, in general, verbal communication skills were important for children’s future lives in education and society at large. However, the responses in this section varied widely with examples from respondents’ personal lives and experiences rather than those of the children in their care. Effects of storage using snow on the quality of wheat and rice flours
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal Article積雪地方で古くより農作物の貯蔵に用いられていた雪室貯蔵は、低コストで安定した低温を維持することが可能であり、近年では環境に優しい貯蔵方法として注目されている。主要農産物である米および麦に関しては、低温貯蔵の有効性が品質保持の上で認められているものの、雪室の高湿度がデメリットとなる可能性があるため、調湿された雪室を用いるなど、雪室貯蔵の利用は限定的であった。本研究では、これらの穀物の雪室貯蔵における品質劣化の状態およびその影響要因を評価するため、品質劣化しやすい製粉加工物（米粉および小麦粉）を用いてその状態を比較検討した。温度と湿度の影響を明確にするため、米粉および小麦粉を紙袋あるいはポリエチレン製袋（ポリ袋）に入れ、常温、冷蔵、雪室の条件で3 ヶ月間貯蔵した。紙袋貯蔵では、水分量は常温、雪室、冷蔵の順に低下したが、ポリ袋貯蔵では変化が認められなかった。試料の品質は、色彩および色差、遊離脂肪酸量（脂肪酸度）、遊離グルコース量、遊離アミノ酸量で評価した。初期変性の指標である脂肪酸度は米粉、小麦粉ともに、常温貯蔵に比べ冷蔵貯蔵と雪室貯蔵とで有意に低下した。デンプン分解の指標である遊離グルコース量は、紙袋貯蔵の小麦粉のみ冷蔵貯蔵と雪室貯蔵に比べて常温貯蔵で有意に増加したが、ポリ袋では変化が認められなかった。遊離アミノ酸量では、ポリ袋において冷蔵貯蔵のみ、常温貯蔵に比較してわずかであるものの有意な低値を示した。米粉、小麦粉の品質においては、冷蔵貯蔵と雪室貯蔵との間で明確な違いは認められず、また小麦粉の遊離グルコース量を除き、紙袋とポリ袋との間でも違いは認められなかった。これらの結果から、覆いをすることにより直接水に触れない状態であれば、雪室貯蔵における湿度は米粉及び小麦粉の品質に大きく影響しないことが示された。Yukimuro means "snow room" in Japanese and has been used to preserve vegetable and other foods under low temperature by using natural energy. Yukimuro keeps foods in cold and moist throughout the year and the condition is suitable for the storage of many agricultural products. Here we investigated the effects of cold moist conditions by snow utilization on the storage of wheat and rice flours. In the study,wheat and rice flours were packed into paper bags or polyethylene bags and stored in a polyethylene covering for three months under following conditions: at room temperature, in refrigerator, and in moist cold room filled with snow (i.e., "yukimuro"). Then these samples were provided for analyses of water content, colors of the flour and its paste, free fatty acid content, free glucose content, and free amino acids content. Regarding water content, the samples stored in room temperature showed the highest value, followed by those stored in yukimuro. The samples stored in refrigerator showed the lowest value. As compared with the samples stored at room temperature, both storage conditions in refrigerator and in yukimuro reduced generation of free fatty acid in wheat and rice flours. Further, either sample of wheat flour in paper bags stored in refrigerator or in yukimuro showed low free glucose contents than those stored at room temperature. In either analysis, no significant difference was observed between the samples stored in refrigerator and in yukimuro. These results indicate that the stable low-temperature condition in yukimuro is preferable for the storage of wheat and rice flours and the moisture has little effect on the quality of the flours if wrapped with a covering for avoiding direct exposure to water.journal articl

A case study on the interaction between childcare workers and young children for establishing their good relationships : From the viewpoint of social referencing
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal Article乳幼児にとって認定こども園等の保育施設は家族以外の人と一日の大半を過ごす場所であり、家族と離れる不安を取り除き、自己を発揮しながら生活するには保育者との信頼関係が必要不可欠である。本研究では生後9 カ月頃から見られる社会的参照を保育者が受け止め、適切に応答するというやりとりを重ねることが信頼関係を築くかかわりのひとつとなり得ると仮定し、事例をもとに検討することを目的とした。事例から、①社会的参照は行動を決定・調整する手がかりを保育者に求める内容が、年齢が上がるにしたがって、「受容」から「確認」へと変化していくこと、②子どもの視線を保育者が受け止め、適切にかかわればそれが保育者への信頼となり、信頼関係を築く基盤となり得ること、③信頼関係を築く基盤となり得るには、子どもの性格や行動を十分理解し、子どもからの視線を予測する配慮が大切であること、などが明らかになった。社会的参照への応答が、信頼関係を培う要素となることを保育者が意識化すれば、かかわり方に、より一層の配慮ができるようになり、自己肯定感が育つことにもつながることから、保育者の社会的参照に対する意識化の必要性が示唆された。For young children, childcare facilities such as certified children centers are the places where they spend most of the daytime with people outside of their families. It is necessary for young children to establish a good relationship with their childcare workers in order to spend their time at the childcare facilities without anxiety. This study hypothesizes that an accumulation of childcare workers’ recognizing children’s social referencing and responding appropriately to it could form the basis for building a good relationship between childcare workers and children. The purpose of this study is to examine this hypothesis, by using some case examples as data. The main findings are as follows. (1) What children seek by using their social referencing changes as they grow up. (2) If childcare workers recognize children’s social referencing and appropriately respond to it, they will win children’s confidence. This will then help them build a good relationship with children. (3) It is important for childcare workers to get a deep understanding of children’s characteristics and behaviors and to be ready for recognizing children’s social referencing. If childcare workers keep in mind that responding children’s social referencing is a crucial factor in establishing a good relationship with children, they will pay more attention to the way they care children.
