Energia Nuclear: Desafios no Sistema Elétrico Brasileiro: Nuclear Energy: Challenges in the Brazilian Electric System
Full text linkBrazil is a country with a large share of renewable energy in its energy matrix, mainly hydroelectricity. However, this use can present several limitations. Thus, other options, such as nuclear energy, should be considered in planning the energy security assessment of the country, since it presents great advantages. In spite of its advantages, its contribution is about 3%of the energy produced. This paper studies the important challenge to be overcome to expand the use of nuclear energy in the country: its acceptance by public opinion. In this work we conclude that the opinion of the public is related to the level of information and knowledge about nuclear energy. We also show that, the higher the level of education and knowledge on thesubject, the greater the reasoning in the decision-making process pro or against the use of nuclear energy.O Brasil é um país com grande participação de fontes renováveis de energia em sua matriz energética, principalmente a hidroeletricidade; contudo, sua utilização pode apresentar diversas limitações. Assim, devem ser consideradas outras opções para garantir a segurança energética do país, como, por exemplo, a energia nuclear, que apresenta grandes vantagens. Sua participação é, entretanto, de cerca de 3% da energia produzida. Este trabalho estuda o importante desafio a ser superado para a expansão do uso da energia nuclear no país: a opinião pública e sua aceitação. Neste trabalho, é possível concluir que a opinião pública está relacionada com o nível de informação e conhecimento sobre a energia nuclear e que quanto maior o grau de instrução e conhecimento sobre o tema, maior é a fundamentação na tomada de decisão, favorável ou não à utilização da mesma
A institucionalização democrática e a atuação do movimento gay brasileiro: The democratic Institutionalization and the performance of the Brazilian gay movement
Full text linkThe present article intends to bring a related discussion of a part of masculinity, the gays, with the struggle for the conquest of rights. These actors are organized in a social movement and through this movement, they engage in a debate with political representation. This movement is not just gay, it is known as the LGBT movement for bringing together other sexual minority groups struggling for full access to citizens\u27 rights and against discrimination. For the specific cut of the article, I took the homosexual men of the movement, although the demands are not exclusive of them. I do so by understanding that this issue deserves a discussion from the point of view of masculinity. Thinking about how this movement works, I tried to relate this struggle to the theme of democracy in Brazil and some paths that need to be traced to a democratic institution. It is argued that, along with democracy, there is a widening of the debate to other concepts that are related to it, such as accountability, citizenship, representation, institutions, and leadership. All this discussion finds space in the areas of Political Science and Sociology, but they are themes that are based on interdisciplinarity, being a present and deserving discussion in many other areas of knowledge that debate social issues.O presente artigo pretende trazer uma discussão correlacionada de um recorte da masculinidade, os gays, com a luta pela conquista de direitos. Esses atores estão organizados em movimento social e por meio desse movimento travam um debate com a representação política. Esse movimento, composto não apenas por gays, é conhecido como movimento LGBT por aglutinar outros grupos de minoria sexual que lutam pelo acesso completo aos direitos de cidadão e contra a discriminação. Para o recorte específico do artigo, fixaram-se os homens homossexuais do movimento, embora as demandas não sejam exclusivas deles. Faço assim por entender que esta questão merece uma discussão do ponto de vista da masculinidade. Pensando na forma como esse movimento atua, busquei relacionar esta luta com o tema da democracia no Brasil e alguns caminhos que precisam ser traçados para uma instituição democrática. Discute-se que, juntamente com a democracia, há uma ampliação do debate para outros conceitos a ela relacionados, como accountability, cidadania, representação, instituições e liderança. Toda essa discussão encontra espaço nas áreas de Ciência Política e Sociologia, mas são temas que se pautam na interdisciplinaridade, estando presentes e merecendo discussão em muitas outras áreas do saber que debatem as questões sociais

No full textThere is a constant concern in Brazil and in the world, with the growth of electricity consumption by the population and the increase in solid waste generation, alternatives are sought for the production of energy that minimize the environmental and social costs. A viable option is the use of biogas and its use energy produced by degradation of solid waste, and capture ofproduced gases such as methane, highly polluting, and its conversion into a useful energy source. The aim is to study the potential of electricity generation through biogas from municipal solid waste in the Waste Treatment Center in Seropédica, in Rio de Janeiro.Há uma constante preocupação no Brasil, e no mundo, com o crescimento do consumo elétrico pela população e do aumento da geração de resíduos sólidos. Buscam-se alternativas para a produção de energia que minimize os custos ambientais e sociais. Uma opção viável é o uso do biogás e o seu aproveitamento energético produzido pela biodegradação dos resíduos sólidos, e captação dos gases produzidos, como o metano, altamente poluente, e sua conversão em uma fonte de energia útil. No full textNewspeak incites an attempt of using the language as a political-ideological tool in 1984 (2009). Thus, this present workhas as objective the analysis and interpretation of how the power relations are sustained in the discourse by words thatpresent a plentiful semantic field such as the polysemic words from vocabulary B of newspeak in 1984. This analysis isbased on the Critical Discourse Analysis and the three-dimensional concept of Fairclough’s (2001) Social DiscourseTheory. The results of this analysis point to the lexical ambivalence in everyday discourse as determining factor to theideological implementation and the government’s position to sustain and withstand the power control. As a conclusion,the hegemonic relations are reinforced by the employment of polysemic words in the discourse which corroborate withthe individual critical thinking delimitation, eradicating opposite thoughts to the elite’s ideology and principles.A novilíngua apresenta uma tentativa de utilização da língua como ferramenta de controle político-ideológico na obra1984 (2009). A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar e interpretar como as relações de poder são sustentadas nodiscurso por intermédio de palavras que possuem um rico campo semântico como as palavras polissêmicas dovocabulário B na obra de Orwell sob a ótica da Análise Crítica do Discurso e da concepção tridimensional da TeoriaSocial do Discurso de Fairclough (2001). Os resultados apontam a ambivalência lexical do discurso cotidiano comofator determinante na implementação ideológica e posicionamento do governo para manutenção do poder na obra.Conclui-se que as estruturações das relações de poder na obra são reforçadas por meio da implementação de palavraspolissêmicas que corroboram com a delimitação do pensamento crítico individual erradicando posicionamentoscontrários à ideologia pregada pela elite

Among them, there is the application of tools to assist teachers in planning lessons and techniques that encourage students to build their knowledge of a particular area of study. This article aims to discuss the benefits that can be provided to both teachers and students by the use of conceptual maps in the teaching of Engineering. By way of illustration, constructed conceptual maps are constructed focusingthe study of different types of steel in Materials Science and Engineering.A qualidade do processo de ensino e aprendizagem depende da combinação de diversos fatores. Dentre esses fatores, destaca-se a aplicação de ferramentas que auxiliem o professor no planejamento da aula e de técnicas que estimulem o aluno a construir seu conhecimento acerca de determinada área de estudo. O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir os benefícios que podem ser proporcionados tanto aos professores quanto aos alunos pelo emprego de mapas conceituais no ensino das Engenharias. A título de ilustração, são construídos mapas conceituais voltados para o estudo das diferentes categorias de aços na Ciência e Engenharia de Materiais

Full text linkThe territorial entities make a large investment of public resources to achieve the materialization of administrative acts that regulate the development of the municipality or department. However, on many occasions, the functions of provincial assemblies and municipal councils are exercised in a deficient manner without some kind of legal consequence against such members of public corporations of popular choice. Thus, the article has as a general objective to determine, from a qualitative approach through documentary analysis, the existence of a pecuniary responsibility of public servants of provincial assemblies and municipal councils for the issuance of administrative acts such as ordinances and municipal agreements declared null by the Contentious-Administrative jurisdiction. Furthermore, it is intended to identify which are the public servants and individuals who exercise public functions and intervene in the process of formation of administrative acts and To analyze how the right of recovery is the ideal way of control within the Jurisdiction to impute property liability, concluding that the figure of the right of recovery is ideal but inoperative, for which a number of normative and judicial solutions are proposed.Las entidades territoriales realizan una gran inversión de recursos públicos para lograr la materialización de actos administrativos que regulen el desarrollo del municipio o del departamento. Sin embargo, en muchas ocasiones, las funciones de asambleas y concejos municipales se ejercen de manera deficiente sin existir algún tipo de consecuencia jurídica frente a dichos miembros de corporaciones públicas de elección popular. Así entonces, el artículo tiene como objetivo general lograr determinar, desde un enfoque cualitativo mediante análisis documental, la existencia de responsabilidad patrimonial de los servidores públicos de asambleas y concejos municipales por la expedición de actos administrativos como ordenanzas y acuerdos municipales declarados nulos por la jurisdicción Contenciosa Administrativa. Asimismo, se pretende identificar, en primer lugar, cuáles son los servidores públicos y particulares que ejercen funciones públicas e intervienen en el proceso de formación de los actos administrativos y, en segundo lugar, analizar cómo la pretensión de repetición es el medio de control idóneo dentro de la Jurisdicción para imputar responsabilidad patrimonial, concluyendo que la figura de repetición es idónea pero inoperante, para lo cual se plantean varias soluciones de tipo normativo y judicial

Full text linkIn order to demonstrate that the spoudaios (the valorous) is revealed by acting prudently, this work describes the virtue of prudence in Aristotle demonstrated that the spoudaios always depend on a new action to demonstrate itself as such. It is possible to conclude that spoudaios is, at the same time, agent and patient. Agent, for it is through him that prudence is revealed; patient, for, only after his action has passed, it is possible that the prudence in which he will be revealed may or may not appear in the world.A fim de demonstrar que o spoudaios (o valoroso) é revelado ao agir de forma prudente, esse trabalho descreve a virtude da prudência em Aristóteles demonstrado que o spoudaios depende sempre de uma nova ação para se demonstrar como tal. Assim, o spoudaios é, ao mesmo tempo, agente e paciente. Agente, pois é por meio dele que se revela a prudência; paciente, pois, somente após passada a sua ação, é que poderá, ou não, aparecer no mundo a prudência em que ele será revelado

Tay was developed by Microsoft as a means to improve virtual assistant services. It was designed to learn through interaction with humans, but the experiment led to an embarrassing episode.
