Despite that fact, though, The Shepherd of Hermas, theDialogue with Trypho and the posterior compilation carried out byEusebius of Caesarea allow for an approach to real facts.The contents of the letter sent to the Koinón of Asia, in spite ofthe fact that the breach between Judaism and Christianity was notthen yet complete (since the works mentioned allude to a degreeof both dialogue and confrontation), seem to establish a link withTrajan’s behaviour in response to Pliny the Younger, which Adrianwould later on also adopt.This degree of continuity would not leave out the existence of isolated and occasional accusations against members of Christian communities in times of Antoninus Pius. Las fuentes del Fide Catholica contra Ivadeos (CPL 1198) de Isidoro de Sevilla
Get PDFThis article offers a complete study of the biblical and patristic sources of the two books of Isidore of Seville’s De fide catholica contra Iudaeos (CPL 1198), composed around 612-617. The author has recourse, above all, to the biblical commentaries of Jerome of Stridon, Augustine of Hippo and Origen of Alexandria; or to the treatises on the Trinity of Hilary of Poitiers, Novatian or the Hispanic Ps. Eusebius of Vercelli. But alongside these works, other lesser-known sources in Visigothic Spain can be found, such as the De spiritu et littera (CPL 343) of Augustine of Hippo and, perhaps, the Commentariiin euangelia (CPL 104) of Fortunatianus of Aquileia. In addition, we point out those expressions of the De fide catholica contra Iudaeos that can be read in some other works of Isidore of Seville, especially the exegetical treatises, such as the Quaestiones in Vetus Testamentum (CPL 1195), the Allegoriae quaedam sanctae Scripturae (CPL 1190) or the De ortu et obitu patrum (CPL 1191).El presente artículo ofrece un estudio completo de las fuentes bíblicas y patrísticas de los dos libros del De fide catholica contra Iudaeos (CPL 1198) de Isidoro de Sevilla, compuestos hacia los años 612-617. El autor recurre, sobre todo, a los comentarios bíblicos de Jerónimo de Estridón, Agustín de Hipona y Orígenes; o a los tratados sobre la Trinidad de Hilario de Poitiers, Novaciano o el hispano Ps. Eusebio de Vercelli. Pero junto a estas obras, se detectan otrasfuentes menos conocidas en la Hispania visigoda, como el De spiritu et littera (CPL 343) de Agustín de Hipona y, quizás, los Commentarii in euangelia (CPL 104) de Fortunaciano de Aquilea. ACTOS JURÍDICOS, DOCUMENTADOS NOTARIALMENTE, OTORGADOS POR EL OBISPO CIVITATENSE, LOS DÍAS 6-7 DE DICIEMBRE DE 1604 : (Inaplicación parcial de la voluntad del disponente)
Get PDFThroughout the year 1604, the bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo, Martín de Salvatierra, made various donations in favour of private individuals and ecclesiastical institutions, and died on 13 December 1604. On the 6th of the same month and year, in full use of his mental faculties, he granted a notarial deed of exceptional importance, because with it he distributed practically all of his personal or private patrimony, and many other goods that were under his ecclesiastical administration, by means of a plurality of inter vivos donations, which had multiple beneficiaries, but from which his closest cognates and other blood relatives, as well as some pious works, such as the two seminaries, benefited greatly.With the second, granted the following day, and also authorised by a notary public of the locality, he granted the nuncupative testament, without institution of an heir, but including the precise clauses for his burial and funeral, suffrages and alms, very much in accordance with the spirit of the good prelate and the applicable canonical regulations. In this way we leave the judgement of his conduct in abeyance, as we have not been able to locate, until now, the inventory of the heir, who accepted the inheritance with this benefit, nor that which, almost certainly, must have been drawn up by the Apostolic Chamber, as a result of his request to the Nuncio, declaring the nullity of the donations contained in the notarial deed of the 6th, before making the transfer of his patrimonial ownership to the bishop\u27s heirs. A lo largo del año 1604, el obispo Civitatense, Martín de Salvatierra, fue otorgando diversas donaciones, a favor de personas particulares e instituciones eclesiásticas, falleciendo el 13 de diciembre de 1604. El día 6 del mismo mes yaño citado, en pleno uso de sus facultades mentales, otorgó una escritura notarial de excepcional importancia, porque con ella distribuyó la práctica totalidad de su patrimonio personal o privativo, y otros muchos bienes que estaban bajosu administración eclesiástica, mediante una pluralidad de donaciones inter vivos, que tuvieron múltiples beneficiarios, pero de las que salieron muy enriquecidos sus cognados más próximos, y otros familiares consanguíneos, además de algunas obras pías, como dos seminarios. Con la segunda, otorgada al día siguiente, y también autorizada por escribano público y del número de la localidad, otorgó el testamento nuncupativo, sin institución de heredero, pero incluyendo las cláusulas precisas para su inhumación y exequias, sufragios y limosnas, muy acorde con el espíritu del buen prelado, y normativa canónica aplicable. De este modo dejamos en suspenso el juicio de su conducta, ya que no hemos podido localizar, hasta ahora, el inventario del heredero, quien aceptó la herencia con ese beneficio, ni el que, casi con seguridad, debió redactar la Cámara Apostólica, a resultas de su instancia ante el Nuncio, declarando la nulidad de las donaciones contenidas en la escritura notarial del día 6, antes de efectuarse la cesión de su titularidad patrimonial a los herederos del obispo.
