“La responsabilidad es nuestra”: crónica y novela realista sobre prostitución en la obra de Albert Londres, Joaquín Edwards Bello y Roberto Arlt
Get PDFProstitution has been a key subject in Latin American literature, but it seems to have a different development in the context of crónicas. This study describes the place of prostitution as a theme within crónicas in the Souther Cone in the twentieth century through a review of the literary and journalistic works of a variety of authors. The article shows that, in many cases, the same novelists who wrote their fiction presenting the brothel and its characters with a keen eye and in precise detail did not cover the same terrain in their copious non-fiction. Furthermore, in that context, it highlights and analyzes the literary non-fiction piece The Road to Buenos Aires, by Londres, as a forerunner in the region in terms of theme and author’s positioning. We suggest that the place of the crónica’s author as character, witness, complainant, and “liable” pushed writers away from addressing a world they knew by heart in their non-fiction works. In the light of the evolution of Latin American crónica in the second half of the twentieth century, the article claims that prostitution is a theme and a lense allowing us to understand the foundamental changes in non-fiction writing in the continent.La prostitución ha sido un tema fundamental en la literatura latinoamericana, pero parece no haber surgido a la par en la crónica. Este artículo describe el lugar de la prostitución como temática en la crónica del Cono Sur en el siglo XX mediante un proceso de revisión de la obra literaria y periodística de diversos autores. Se muestra cómo, en muchos casos, los mismos novelistas que escribían sus ficciones presentando el mundo prostibulario con lujo de detalles, dedicaron su copiosa producción cronística a otros temas y otros ámbitos. Además, destaca y analiza, en este contexto, el relato de no ficción El camino de Buenos Aires, de Londres, como una obra precursora en la región en términos de temática y posicionamiento del autor. Se propone que el lugar de personaje, testigo, denunciante, “responsable” del autor en la crónica periodística alejó a los escritores de tratar en su no ficción un mundo que conocían al dedillo. A la luz de la evolución de la crónica hacia finales del siglo XX, se postula que la prostitución es un asunto y una lente que nos permite entender los fundamentales cambios que se han producido en la no ficción del continente
Despoblación y comunicación: propuestas para abordar un objeto de estudio emergente
Get PDFDepopulation has become a public problem in Spain. However, scientific literature on Communication has not yet paid sufficient attention to this phenomenon. This paper presents a bibliographic review using mapping technique and addresses works focused on the overlapping between depopulation and communication. We have utilised Geography of Communication to structure this review and to try to detect priority perspectives and thematic gaps. The review focuses on two approaches: the analysis of representations of depopulated territory and the structure of the media in the affected areas. The mapping shows disparate production, focused on case studies, with no unifying theoretical paradigm, given the recent attention paid to this object of study. Although this dispersion makes it difficult to establish coherent conclusions between the findings, an emerging and scientifically relevant area has been detected meriting exploration of the link between mediatisation and depopulation as a demographic and socio-cultural phenomenon. The discussion proposes potential lines of research that could shed light on the impact of media factors on depopulation processes and on the cultures and experiences of these communities.La despoblación se ha constituido como un problema público en España. Sin embargo, en la literatura científica todavía no se ha prestado suficiente atención a este fenómeno desde el área de comunicación. Este trabajo recoge un estado de la cuestión mediante la técnica de mapeo bibliográfico sobre la producción científica que aborda la intersección entre despoblación y comunicación, a partir de las propuestas de la Geografía de la Comunicación, para detectar perspectivas prioritarias y vacíos temáticos. La revisión se fija en dos enfoques: el análisis sobre representaciones del territorio despoblado y la estructura de medios de comunicación en las zonas afectadas. El mapeo muestra una producción dispar, concentrada en estudios de caso, sin un paradigma teórico unificador, dada la reciente atención a este objeto de estudio. Aunque esta dispersión dificulta establecer conclusiones coherentes entre los hallazgos, se detecta un área emergente y científicamente relevante para explorar el vínculo entre mediatización y despoblación, en tanto fenómeno demográfico y sociocultural. En este sentido, en la discusión se proponen líneas de investigación potenciales que podrían iluminar la incidencia de los factores mediáticos en los procesos de despoblación y en las culturas y experiencias de estas comunidades
Aportación de las políticas públicas e institucionales a la investigación desarrollada en universidades ecuatorianas con estudios de comunicación
Get PDFSuccessful policies improve the use of resources for research and safeguard scientific capital. The RSDC contribute by making research results visible. It was sought to establish whether the policies of the Government of Ecuador embodied in the LOES and the research evaluation criteria of the CACES promote the development of the research culture in Communication Careers teachers and measure the use of RSDC for scientific dissemination. With content analysis and in-depth interviews, the results show that the Movement of Córdoba-1918 promotes the creation of the LOES-1925, a law that today reflects 15 articles of investigative impulse. Universities have at least two documents referring to research to promote it. The presence of teachers in RSDC is growing, making visible and improving academic prestige. HEIs motivate the use of digital platforms to disseminate science and encourage the development of research. Conclusion: the research culture of teachers is strengthened more with the requirements of the LOES, than with the research evaluation criteria of the CACES. EIs rely on LOES to develop research documents. The communication and dissemination of science is empirical and is not felt as a legal and institutional basis for research action.Políticas exitosas mejoran el uso de recursos para la investigación y cuidan el capital científico. Las RSDC aportan visibilizando resultados investigativos. Se buscó establecer si las políticas del Gobierno de Ecuador plasmadas en la LOES y el criterio de evaluación de investigación del CACES fomentan desarrollo de la cultura investigadora en docentes de Carreras de Comunicación y, medir el uso de RSDC para divulgación científica. Con análisis de contenido y entrevistas a profundidad, los resultados evidencian que el Movimiento de Córdoba-1918 impulsa la creación de la LOES-1925, ley que hoy refleja 15 artículos de impulso investigativo. Las universidades cuentan con al menos dos documentos referentes a la investigación para potenciarla. La presencia de docentes en RSDC está crecimiento, visibilizando y mejorando el prestigio académico. Las IES motivan usar plataformas digitales para divulgar la ciencia e incentivan el desarrollo de la investigación. Conclusión: la cultura investigadora de los docentes se fortalece más con exigencias de la LOES, que con el criterio de evaluación de investigación del CACES. Las IES se basan en la LOES para desarrollar documentos de investigación. La comunicación y divulgación de la ciencia es empírica y no se sienta como base legal e institucional de la actuación investigadora

Una revisión narrativa sobre el voluntariado en la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria
Get PDFThe objective of this work was to know the benefits that volunteering brings to secondary education and the improvements that it can produce in soft skills. A narrative review of the scientific literature has been carried out, extracting articles in following databases: Dialnet, Scopus, Google Scholar, Researchgate and Microsoft Academic. The results show an image about the current situation of volunteering, to recognize the service-learning methodology as an ideal tool for students to build meaningful learning, and to obtain a wider knowledge about soft skills. The bibliographic search allowed to configure a series of methodological proposals that aid the educational guidance departments of the schools to undertake educational activities and tasks in the classroom to present and work around the field of volunteering with young people who are finishing their studies in secondary education. In conclusions, it should be noted that working on volunteering issues with young people is considered to have a positive impact on their personal, moral, social, academic and work development, while increasing their involvement in the environment and the feeling of bond with the community.El objetivo de este trabajo fue conocer los beneficios que el voluntariado aporta a la educación secundaria y las mejoras que puede producir en las habilidades blandas. Para ello se ha realizado una revisión narrativa de la literatura científica, en las siguientes bases de datos: Dialnet, Scopus, Google Scholar, Researchgate y Microsoft Academic. Los resultados reconocen la metodología de aprendizaje-servicio como una herramienta idónea para que los estudiantes se impliquen, construyan aprendizajes significativos y mejoren sus habilidades blandas. La búsqueda bibliográfica permitió configurar una serie de propuestas metodológicas que permiten emprender actividades y tareas didácticas para presentar y trabajar en torno el ámbito del voluntariado con jóvenes que se disponen a finalizar sus estudios en educación secundaria. Como conclusiones, destacar que trabajar cuestiones de voluntariado con jóvenes se considera que repercute positivamente en el desarrollo personal, moral, social, académico y laboral de éstos, a la vez que incrementa la implicación en el entorno y el sentimiento de vínculo con la comunidad
La democracia interna de los partidos en la era de la comunicación política 2.0: el caso de las primarias del partido popular de 2018
Get PDFIn the summer of 2018, the Popular Party (Spanish: Partido Popular, PP) held its first national primaries to elect its president. This study aims to analyse, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the Twitter campaign of the two main candidates in the two stages of this process of internal democracy: from 23 June to 5 July, and from 6 to 21 July. The results show that social networks are a necessary instrument in candidates’ political communication strategy, as they encourage citizen participation and instant communication, and they allow interaction as well. Nevertheless, the findings also point out that this social network has not fully capitalized on its potential, as the one-way transmission of content has taken centre stage.En verano de 2018, el Partido Popular celebró sus primeras primarias a nivel nacional para elegir a su presidente. El presente estudio tiene como objeto el análisis, tanto cuantitativo como cualitativo, de la campaña en Twitter de los dos principales candidatos en las dos etapas de dicho proceso de democracia interna: del 23 de junio al 5 de julio, y del 6 y al 21 de julio. Los resultados demuestran cómo las redes sociales son un instrumento necesario en la estrategia de comunicación política de los candidatos al favorecer la participación ciudadana y la comunicación instantánea, así como también posibilitando la interacción. No obstante, también evidencian un desaprovechamiento del potencial que tiene la red social al prevalecer la transmisión unidireccional de contenidos
