Water-logging and its’ impacts on livelihood: A study from Jashore Sadar Upazila, Jashore, Bangladesh
Jashore, the south-western hub of Bangladesh has been facing elongated waterlogging and remains inundated for longer period of time over the year. The objectives of this study were to assess the main causes of water-logging and impacts on livelihood using historical rainfall and SRTM DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data and loss of agriculture using Landsat Multi Temporal data and validate it with people’s perception. A self-explorative semi structured questionnaire survey was performed with a total of 115 respondents were selected based on age (>50 years) and cultivable land (?30 decimals) from 5 Unions (Chanchra, Diara, Ichhali, Noapara, Ramnagar) and Jashore Sadar Municipality under Jashore District. Rainfall data were placid from Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) and analysed through SPSS and figures were produced with Arc GIS software. The study revealed that the main causes of water logging were lack of adequate drainage path (58%) which was validated through GIS analysis, followed by excessive monsoon rainfall (42%), rapid growth of urbanization (16%), increased sediment/siltation (12%) and controlled river water flow due to guards construction (8%), respectively. The results showed that almost 90% area of Jashore Sadar Upazila had ?167mm rainfall and average monsoon rainfall were within 263 to 313mm. About 95.24% of male and 96.55% of female respondents’ told about the scarcity of fresh water during water-logging period and lost their homestead vegetable garden (94%), followed by unable to farming domestic birds (78%) and animals (64%), respectively. The result concluded that 84% of the respondents’ lost their agricultural crops and 52% respondents’ family members migrated to meet their livelihood during the water logging period. Dredging of Kobadak River should be the solution to allow regular tides of the river at first stage and helped to runoff the excessive rain water in the study area

TV played a significant role during the pandemic period due to its high credibility as perceived by Malaysians. The main intriguing implication of this study is considering the traditional media as more credible than social media by the Malaysian although the social media was their main source of information
The Role of Television as an Educational Medium in Empowering Rural Students in Sri Lanka during Covid 19 Pandemic

Therefore, “Guru Gedara” (Teacher’s house) Television (TV) programme was mainly introduced to the students who do not have the internet access to provide formal education during Covid 19 pandemic in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the main purpose of the study is to examine the role of television in empowering rural school students in Sri Lanka. The FGDs were conducted with 36 students in Billewa Vidyalaya (School) in Anuradhapura District. The personal interviews were conducted with five key people in the same geographical area (purposive sampling). The qualitative data were thematically analyzed. Uses and Gratifications theory was used to examine the role of TV as an educational media in empowering rural school students. The results showed that television is an effective educational medium among rural school students during Covid-19 pandemic. There are also opportunities and challenges of using TV as an alternative educational tool during the pandemic. It is important to develop the ICT and social infrastructure in the rural areas to provide the ICT access to the rural communities. Combining the TV, radio and online platforms is also another option to empower rural students with formal education
The Application of Nominal Group Technique (NGT) in Evaluating the Usability of E-learning
The Nominal Group Technique (NGT) is a structured process to gather information from a group for their priority setting. This technique is very useful and effective in generating a large number of new ideas to solve problems specifically in e-learning courses. The researchers have conducted this technique in the final phase of their research about the development of web-based activities in learning Arabic collocation and identify the usability of that application. Therefore, this article has two purposes: (1) discussing what Modified NGT is and how to implement it as evaluation tool in e-learning application; and (2) describing the findings of usability evaluation using this technique by providing qualitative data generated during a workshop led by the researchers. This study contributes detail procedures to the researchers and learning material designers by drawing a proposed rule for evaluating educational products in terms of their usability

The data was collected and analyzed using SPSS version 23.0. Data analysis methods carried out in this study are Descriptive Analysis, Pilot test (Cronbach?s Alpha), Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Regression. The findings show that four independent variables are related to online repurchase intention among Generation Y online consumers in Malaysia. Besides, online consumers from the Generation Y in Malaysia regard delivering as the most influential factor in online repurchase intention among online shopping activities

Lastly, this empirical finding can recommend to the top level management of small- medium firms that to fully utilize their internal and external firm resources in order to achieve and gain more competitive advantages
Governance Mechanism and Financial Reporting Timeliness of Listed Firms on The Nigeria Stock Exchange
The issue of financial reporting timeliness is central to quality of financial report and equally influence the decisions of investors on were to commit their resources. While there is a regulatory requirement on when financial reports should be made available, it appears that firms have continued to flout the requirements of the regulations. Considering the fact that investors eagerly anticipate the release of financial report to invest in a firm, a delay in such report could lead to investment in an alternate firm. It is against this back drop that this study examines the effect of corporate governance mechanisms on financial reporting timeliness of listed firms in Nigeria. The study used a sample of 65 firms out of the total population of listed firms on the Nigeria stock exchange. The study analyzed the data collected using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and the hypotheses were tested using Poisson regression analysis technique. First, it was found that it takes an average of three months after 31st December for financial statement to be reported. The study found that for all the firms combined, board independence, and managerial shareholding significantly reduces the number of days it takes for financial report to be reported. Also, board size and board independence decrease financial reporting lag but without statistical significance. On the other hand, the signs of the variables change when individual sectors are considered. For the market as a whole, it is recommended that the Securities and Exchange Commission should continue to enforce compliance with governance mechanisms as to aid reporting timeliness which provide basis for investors to make their investment decision timely as well in the market. On a specific note, firms in the industrial goods, conglomerate, banking sector and consumer goods sector should be given a closer monitor by the SEC since most of the governance variables rather increases the delay. To the aforementioned, it is recommended that the boards should be made more effective. The effectiveness of the board should be improved in terms of capability of the board members and since the relationship between board size and reporting timeliness is a direct one (moving in the same direction) management of these sectors should equally consider reducing its board size since a decrease in board size will decrease the number of days it takes for financial report to be filed. This is necessary because large size can lead to a lot of debate which could take time before an issue is addressed
Early Detection Method for Money Fraudulent Activities on E-commerce Platform via Sentiment Analysis
Shopee is one of the prominent online shopping platforms in Malaysia. Nonetheless, countless scam cases were reported on the platform, particularly on money fraudulent activities. This study constructed a quantitative model through linear programming that assessed sentiments based on customers’ reviews. Reviews from three selected Shopee products (‘M3 Smart Health Watch’, ‘Sony Headset Wired Gaming Headphone’, and ‘20000mAh Pineng 100% Original Powerbank’) were analysed using the proposed model. The data were converted into measurable metrics to enable quantitative fraud detection. The model enabled the early detection of possible money fraudulent activities on Shopee products based on customers’ reviews. Resultantly, ‘M3 Smart Health Watch’ is an authentic Shopee product. In contrast, ‘Sony Headset Wired Gaming Headphone’ and ‘20000mAh Pineng 100% Original Powerbank’ are money fraud products sold by scammers. The proposed model utilises free and readily available software, thus extending its usability to other small business owners
