This study examines the impact of mobile technology usage among students in PHEIs in Peninsular Malaysia and its implications on quality as well as possible contributions of mobile technology to learning. Challenges aside, the study concludes that mobile technology could be exploited to supplement learning as it enables the student to access academic and research materials from credible sources that are either on free-access or subscribed-for through their home university. The findings also add new understanding as regard to factors influencing students? intention to use mobile technology in higher education
Why Managers Lose Balance; Can Technology Influence Balance
As the work environment becomes more complex and diverse, managers are compelled to implement favorable practices that can deliver quality output to achieve competitive advantage with minimum resources. Employees are on employers? toes for justice; while employers are determined to curtail the cost and effect of the same. It is important for managers to adapt ideas and practices from time to time since organizations and environments are continuously improving. Since work life balance poses a heavy cost to the organization in terms of time and cost, even though the employment laws now permits family friendly programs, workplace implementation still remains a big challenge. Investing in what may work out well for the organization is also unavoidable. It has come to a time for management to embrace work family programs to permit managers to take care of their family issues. With growing technology and multiple generations co-existing with different behavioral norms, a shift from traditional approach to Work?Life balance (WLB) integration has become a big issue in managing human resource. Accordingly, we explore how advancement in information technology is shifting WLB-high performance achievement relationship. Data were collected from 265 managers. Hypotheses were tested using multiple and hierarchical regression analyses. The result did not support that WLB has a direct positive impact on performance. However, we found that WLB has an indirect influence on high performance achievement through the advancement in information technology. The study demonstrated that advancement in information technology influences how managers manage both work and life domains. This result has significant implications for managers and the growing workforce

This study also examined the moderating influence of attitude on social media use and academic performance. The outcome of the study could help Malaysian government to consider proper educational and social policy decisions for better governance. A survey was conducted using proportionate stratified random sampling from three universities in Peninsular Malaysia. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression. It was discovered that the use of social media as a source of information for studies had a significant effect on the youths? academic performance in Malaysia. Therefore, the government and the management at universities should ensure that social media are mostly used for academic purposes by restricting the use of social media in the universities. It was suggested that the university may block other unimportant links and encourage students to use social media for academic issues such as assignments involving online journals. The scope of inquiry was limited to the Faculty of Business in the universities. Further studies need to look into social media usage by youths in secondary schools

Kajian Keberkesanan Pemilihan Lokasi Melalui Kaedah “Ceklok” untuk Pembinaan Rumah Burung Walet (RBW)
This study explained one of the best methods in the selection process for the construction of bird nest house (BNH). The biggest problem encountered by swiftlet entrepreneurs is to identify locations with a large population of swiftlets. Swiftlet entrepreneurs often made a mistake when choosing a location as there has been no systematic and organised method in the selection process of the micro-habitat for the bird’s nest. Therefore, this study identified one of the best measures to determine the location through the Bird Call method or location check. This method has been implemented to 18 locations for the construction of BNH which has been exposed to courses organised by Damak Swiftlets Trading and Wan Damak Empire from 2014 to 2017 in selected areas throughout Malaysia. The study found that almost all locations that were developed using location selection methods can produce successful BNH. In conclusion, the study suggested that the location should be a place that has many swiftlets. Entrepreneurs are not required to have ownership of the land to build successful BNH

PEMBANGUNAN INDEKS HARGA HARTA TANAH WARISAN: KEDAI PRAPERANG (PW-SPI) PULAU PINANG, MALAYSIA
AbstractThe recognition of George Town City as a World Heritage Site (TWD) UNESCO has led to the conservation efforts such as the implementation of the Heritage Management Plan and the publication of the National Heritage Act 2005. Among the elements of heritage that need to be preserved in relation to property are pre-war shops. Pre-war shops are shops that were built and developed before the first world war in 1914. The pre-war shops need to be preserved in terms of its physical features. However, with the rapid development trend, implementing this goal needs the involvement of investors in the real estate sector. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop the Penang Pre-war Shop Price Index (PW-SPI) in order to create an indicator that can help potential investors in making investment decisions related to the pre-war property market. PW-SPI was developed using the Laspeyres Hedonic Model. The developed PW-SPI has enabled a graphical comparison be made about heritage property price movement in Penang. It indicates that for the period 2008-2014 the pre-war shops in Penang had better price growth than the non pre-war shops. This earliest study of heritage property price index in Malaysia could be replicated to include data of other geographical areas. It is shown that it can help potential investors in making investment decision related to heritage property of shophouse through graphical comparison
