Language Policy and Implementation in Africa: Panacea for Afrocentrism and Africanity
The paper attempts to explore language policy and its implementation as panacea for blurred Afrocentrism and Africanity. The language issues in Africa form a basic content and context in the continent which has many languages, ethics and religions. Thus, many countries in the continent are multilingual, heterogeneous, pluralistic, multicultural, and multi-religious. Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Portugal, colonized Africa, later leaving their respective languages behind in the colonies. By that, African languages had contact with the colonial languages, such as English, French and Portuguese, which remained exogenous which with more prestigious roles and status than African indigenous languages. The foreign and colonial languages continue flourishing in the African soil and characterise the continent as a diglossia community thereby making a majority of Africans victims of backlash, code-mixing, code switching and anomie, and leading to the shift in, loss and death of the African indigenous languages. Without any feeling and act of linguistic nationalism, ethnocentrism and Afrocentrism, This paper is foregrounded in theoretical and empirical studies on language planning, policy and implementation across four African countries colonised by Britain and France and therefore attempts to provide pragmatic measure for enhancing Afrocentrism and Africanity

The Malay language has been widely used in China since the Ming Dynasty. Now more and more universities in China have offered Malay language courses as a main subject and Chinese students are facing proficiency problems in learning Malay language. Therefore investigating a set of language learning strategies for students is important for Chinese students. As such, the purpose of this paper is to examine the frequency of use of the Malay language learning strategies used by Chinese students when learning Malay in terms of memory, cognitive, compensation, meta-cognitive, affective and social strategies. Oxford’s strategies classification will be practiced in this study. This study will analyze based on the theoretical framework of Oxford which divides strategies into 6 main categories, namely memory, cognitive, compensation, metacognitive, affective and social strategies. A total of 80 students taking Malay language courses of Yunnan Minzu University has been selected as respondents. This study are using the quantitative method which adapted from established questionnaire and was translated into Malay and Chinese. The findings of this study indicate that metacognitive strategy is the strategy most commonly used for Chinese students when learning Malay and these results also reflect Chinese students more consciously in Malay language learning. This finding is somewhat aided by Malay language students and Malay language education in China

CODE MIXING IN WRITING BY PUPILS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT
Abstract
The focus of this study is to analyse the use of code-mixing by the hearing impairment pupils in writing the Malay language and to explain the factors that cause the code-mixing to occur among them. This study is an instrumental case study using a qualitative approach. The sample of the study are six hearing impairment pupils at one of the National Schools of Federal Special Education in Malaysia. The data collection methods used are observation and document analysis methods. Observations were made ‘nonverbally’ for 5 months. The documents analysed were ten sets of worksheets. The worksheets require pupils to construct sentences in Malay. The results show that code mixing occurs a lot among the hearing impairment pupils when writing sentences in Malay language. Code mixing among the hearing impairment pupils occur due to lack of interest in the Malay language, limited vocabulary acquisition, similarities between the code signals in English and Malay language and also the extra linguistic context. This study is important as a guide for special education teachers to encourage them to plan educational strategies and innovations to overcome the problem of code mixing in the writing of hearing impairment pupils.

A Critical Review on Activity-Based Costing Technique: Analysis of Abundant Countries
Activity-based costing has been identified as an effective costing system that helps the companies in manufacturing and service industry to reduce their cost. Due to the high reliability and accuracy of activity-based costing, without a doubt, activity-based costing had been used and implemented widely by companies in the manufacturing and service industry to replace traditional costing. This is because traditional costing has been considered by many researchers that it is no more reliable and effective to act as a costing system in this constantly changing market conditions, developing technology, and a large number of productions. Furthermore, the activity-based costing system as mentioned just now can provide a lot of benefits to the company which implements it such as providing detailed cost information which can show a clear picture to the management on the costing of their products, which leads to a better decision making as well as improvise the strategic planning of the companies to achieve better profitability and sustainability of the business in the long run
The effect of drinking water sources due to Cyclone Aila at Shyamnagar, Sathkhira district, Bangladesh
Bangladesh is the most vulnerable country to disaster and its impact. Coastal Bangladesh along with the Bay of Bengal is the most important and suffered group of cyclone impacts. Cyclone Aila hit the southwestern coast of Bangladesh on 25 May 2009. About two million people were affected and washed away a huge number of households, lives, livestock, crops, and all other resources of the affected area. Water resources in the coastal area are always a term of crisis and even the aila mostly damaged all the resources including surface or groundwater sources. This study focuses on the recovery status of the affected area with considering the drinking water sources. About 36 water samples had been collected for the experiment including rainwater harvesting (6), pond sand filters (6), protected pond (6), and hand tube well (6) from specific six unions of Shyamnagar Upazilla under Sathkhira District in between the time of August to October 2016. A questionnaire field survey was conducted in the most affected coastal area in Bangladesh where about 103 households (309 respondents) participated in their willingness and the study considering their frequency of loss. The results showed a huge dimension of the water crisis and its mitigation. Protected pond and tube well water exceeded the DoE standard for almost all chemical parameters except potassium (3.28 mg/L and 3.75 mg/L), sulfate (377.19 mg/L and 225.66 mg/L), chloride (365.05 mg/L and 349.10 mg/L) and arsenic (1.76±0.25 mg/L and 3.78±1.43). Pond sand filter (PSF) and rainwater harvesting (RWH) had shown the lowest amount of all chemical concentrations compared with another two sources. The respondents face the problem of the distance from the household and the yearly availability of drinking water. They demand monitoring and source management system improvement along with community-based resource management. From the aila event, a huge recovery application is implemented here but these are not sufficient. Respondents gave some opinions to solve this crisis. Considering all aspects, they need a low-cost and more efficient drinking water source to survive their situation
Discovery of large mangrove-dwelling Elysia species in the newly-grown mangrove habitats, Pattani, Thailand
The first report on the occurrence of the remarkable and highly ephemeral sap-sucking sea slugs Elysia bangtawaensis and E. leucolegnote from the newly grown mangrove forest in the Prince of Songkla University, Pattani, Thailand. Elysia was surveyed by exploring from the inner part to the floor front zone of the mangrove area. The various sizes and numbers of E. bangtawaensis were clumped distribution in some microhabitats throughout the area, while E. leucolegnote was distributed in the floor front zone of the area. Both species have similar external morphological characters with conspecifics previously reported in Pattani Bay, Gulf of Thailand, Andaman Sea, and elsewhere. E. bangtawaensis showed a surprisingly larger size than previously reported. This discovery is important in identifying the changes in ecosystems within the area to support the diversity of organisms that will come to use the area in the future

She baked dough and cooked the fillings with her full-hearted energy. She successfully produced her first ever bake after a year of trial. No shortcut towards success in life, she believed. She needs a living, therefore she oughta challenge. The challenge that she encountered will make her stronger surely and eventually. Many entrepreneurs start their businesses in ‘rough situations. Some have abandoned families who don’t fit with any part of their business. In contrast, Mrs. Ruzi was practically smothered by parental involvement, support, and caring. She has lost her husband to illness, live in poverty, and was exposed to hunger and destitution. Her children live in all kinds of conditions and are sometimes ‘set up for failure’ from the very start. But her children also are able, despite their initial circumstances, to achieve great things in life. Her dream comes true when on 1st January 2009, she formed a company of her own and named it after her own name, RUZI\u27S FOOD. Despite her composed face, it is clearly engraved with the indescribable feeling of owning a business. On that significant date, she found a real workplace at 1893 Panchor, Pengkalan Chepa, 16100 Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
