Exploring Challenges in Translating Li Bai’s Classical Chinese Poems to English
Translation has helped tremendously in introducing the classical Chinese literature to the world. One of challenges literary translators face is in translation of poems, particularly in language of different families such as English and Chinese. In this study, the three-beauty principle was employed to evaluate classical Chinese poetry translation of Li Bai’s ten poems. Evidence of lexical, syntactic, textual, rhetorical, and imagery challenges were identified, and the process of translation was described with the analysis of ten selected poems and their translations. It was found that understanding of Chinese culture, history, and language are crucial to maintain the original poetic atmosphere and meanings despite the very fundamental challenge of intertextuality in Chinese poetry translation. The findings could have implications for translators and readers in that a good poetry translation should preserve the original poem’s sense, form, and meaning as much as possible depending on the lyrics, translators’ creativity, melody, rhyme, and the differences between the languages and cultures
Automatic POS tagging of Arabic words using the YAMCHA machine-learning tool
Part of speech tagging of Arabic words is a morphological tagging of each word with the part of speech that is suitable for it. This process is a basic step in most natural language processing (NLP) applications such as automatic summarization, information retrieval, automatic translation and other applications. The aim of this research is to present an Arabic automatic POS tagger based on a statistical system that makes advantage of machine learning systems. The machine learning system used in this research is YAMCHA (Yet Another Multipurpose CHunk Annotator), which is an open source tool that performs many language processing tasks, such as automatic morphological word picking, entity names recognition, syntactic analysis of sentences, and other linguistic tasks. YamCha uses a machine learning algorithm called Support Vector Machines, which is used to classify data very accurately and efficiently because it uses part of the data for training and learning, and it also allows changing the extent and types of linguistic information based on machine learning (feature set and window -size). Therefore, the proposed methodology requires a good amount of texts analyzed at the level of parts of speech in order to train the system on them. The size of the corpus used in the research was 100.039 words, and it was divided by 70% for training and 30% for testing. The size of the training corpus was 64,608 words, and the size of the test blog was 35,431 words. The number of part of speech tags that the system trained on and distinguished is 48 tags. The system was trained on the training corpus several times with changing the extent of the linguistic information used in the training, then analyzing the test corpus and evaluating the results in order to reach the best results in the automatic recitation of Arabic words. The lowest error rate was 11.4%, and it was in the case of considering the previous word in the analysis without looking at its morphological title (F:-1..0:0..)

Additionally, the cultural capital amongst Tok Bali Fishermen\u27s community is also at a high level. The cultural capital, which is manifested by the interdependency, values, and cultures of the community in the Tok Bali Settlement area is also high. The level of income is insignificant to human capital, social capital, and even cultural capital. However, the level of education is significant to human capital and social capital but is not significant to cultural capital. A Study of Influenced Factors toward Student Loyalty Among Private Universities in Kedah
Up to half of Malaysia\u27s private higher education institutions could be forced to close if the country\u27s private higher education sector were to collapse, leaving only those with substantial financial support to remain open. More than half of the country\u27s small businesses have shut down due to the Covid-19 coronavirus, which has almost likely pushed the country into recession. This has worsened the prognosis for the already troubled university sector. Hence, student loyalty is another proven solution in combating these challenges. The purpose of this research is to look into and analyse the impact of service quality, university image, student satisfaction, and loyalty at private universities in Kedah, Malaysia. As this paper is a pilot study, therefore 150 questionnaires were distributed to target respondents. SPSS was used to analyse the 86 samples of private university students in the northern region of Malaysia. Entrepreneurial Decision-Making Approaches of Award-Winning Women Business Operators in Kandy District of Sri Lanka
Women\u27s entrepreneurship has been widely identified as a driver of economic and social development worldwide. However, literature in women entrepreneurship argues that women entrepreneurs lag behind men and women business operators are constrained. Despite numerous constraints faced by Sri Lankan women business operators, some have overcome such barriers and become successful, and also have achieved provincial and national level recognitions through winning awards. Women business operators who have earned such recognitions warrant investigations to unravel the entrepreneurial decision-making approaches they have adopted to overcome various challenges in constrained environments. Therefore, this research aims to study the entrepreneurial decision-making approaches of award-winning women business operators in the Kandy district of Sri Lanka using theoretical lenses of Effectuation and Causation. A qualitative multiple case study design was adopted and 30 in-depth interviews were conducted with successful women business operators who have been awarded in "Star Awards". The analysis revealed that entrepreneurial decision-making approach of the respondents does not change with the sector (i.e. manufacturing and service) they operate. Women business operators have become more effectual when starting up their businesses and have combined the causation approach with effectuation when growing their businesses
Importance of small urban parks towards becoming low-carbon cities: Analyzing Malaysian policies and strategies for climate change mitigation
With urban expansion and densification escalating, Small Urban Parks (SUPs) have emerged as crucial components in urban landscapes, offering diverse ecosystem benefits. This paper aims to achieve two primary objectives: (i) conduct an extensive analysis of Malaysia\u27s national climate and planning policies, evaluating their incorporation of preservation open spaces and interconnected climate change considerations, and (ii) explore sustainable strategies for SUP management, underlining their contribution to cultivating green, low-carbon urban environments. The study employs a content analysis approach to examine Malaysia\u27s environmental policy documents, gauging their alignment with the objective of utilizing open spaces for climate change mitigation. The findings emphasize the importance of embedding SUPs in urban planning as a strategic approach to carbon sequestration and highlight the pivotal role of local authorities in realizing a carbon-neutral urban vision by 2050. Supported by robust policy frameworks and grassroots endeavors, urban green spaces, regardless of their size, can make significant strides towards a sustainable urban future
