Influence of Abrasive Grit Size on Surface Wettability in Kelempayan (Neolamarckia cadamba) and Petai (Parkia speciosa) Wood Sanding
The environmental implications of sanding processes, including energy consumption and waste generation, are increasingly significant considerations. Therefore, identifying sustainable sanding practices involves finding ways to minimize energy consumption, reduce waste generation, and mitigate environmental impacts while maintaining or improving product quality. The study aimed to assess the impact of grit size on the surface quality of Neolamarckia cadamba and Parkia speciosa wood. Three sanding methods with varying grit sizes a) single stage 100-grit, b) two stage 100+150-grit, and c) three stage with 100+150+180-grit were employed, and surface quality was evaluated using three different liquids (water, oil and formamide) medias. SEM analysis was carried out for every grit size sanded sample of both species. The sanding process has been done 30 times on each surface with a constant force. The measurements are carrying out with a view parallel to the grain. Results showed that surfaces sanded with 100+150+180-grit had lower mean contact angle values for water, oil, and formamide for both Neolamarckia cadamba and Parkia speciosa. The choice of abrasive and grit sequence significantly affects coating absorption time, surface finishing, and wood damage during sanding. Smoother surfaces exhibited higher wettability and absorbency, highlighting the significant influence of sanding on wood surface properties. This study provides valuable insights for bonding and finishing processes in the wood industry, aiming to promote environmentally responsible practices in Malaysia

An Empirical Analysis of E-Takaful Participation Readiness (ETPR) Among Individuals in Malaysia
Increased digitalization is one of the tailwinds expected to impact the Islamic Financial Services Industry (IFSI), including the takaful industry, which is growing at up to 5.2% globally. Despite the increasing penetration of digital technologies, the participation rate in online takaful remains disproportionately low. Hence, a call for a digital platform is seen as vital in the current economic situation to further reach out. This research suggests an integrated model of e-takaful participation readiness (ETPR) and empirically tests the model. Furthermore, this study opts for primary data via a structured online survey adapted from previous studies using a purposive sampling technique. Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is the main statistical technique used in this study. Based on the perspective of user acceptance of information technology, the current research significantly expands on factors influencing e-takaful participation readiness among 395 individuals such as religiosity, attitude, and takaful literacy. Past studies have visited the topic of e-banking readiness, but limited studies focused on its relation to the e-takaful area. This study is a pioneer in examining consumer participation readiness toward e-takaful services particularly during the digital shifting process due to pandemic. The results supported the measurement model\u27s prediction that each research measure\u27s reliability and validity requirements were met. All the proposed hypotheses were found to be significant and accepted. The findings of this study suggest takaful operators in Malaysia to critically devise their new penetration strategies and focus on giving extra value to induce takaful literacy and make room for improvement in product penetration to the target segments by understanding the factors contributing to this phenomenon. This is crucial for policymakers, takaful operators, and other industry stakeholders to develop strategies that encourage greater adoption of online participation
The Acceptance Level of Fertigation Technology System among Farmers in Kelantan
Fertigation technology system has emerged as an assisted technology to ease the farmers\u27 jobs in the field. This technology has been popularly used by chilli, cucumber, and eggplant growers as it can minimise farm labour use. However, due to the high installation and maintenance costs, farmers refuse because they cannot afford it on their farms. Additionally, this system may appear to have technical problems such as blockage, and the skilful person must attend to it. So, this study aims to examine farmers\u27 acceptance level in Kelantan on the fertigation system technology. About 100 respondents from Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Pasir Mas and Bachok were interviewed using a structured questionnaire, and simple random sampling was used as a sampling method for this study. The descriptive analysis has also been used to identify the socio-demographic profile of the respondents and the acceptance level towards the fertigation system. The mean score was categorised into three categories: low (1 to 2.33), moderate (2.34 to 3.66) and high (3.67 to 5). The findings demonstrate a high mean score, with 70% of the farmers accepting the fertigation system to assist them on the farm. In conclusion, most farmers have opened their minds and are ready to get the fertigation system technology to generate more profit. It is hoped that more collaborations between government agencies, non-profit organisations, and investors will notice the need for this technology to boost farmers\u27 livelihoods and Malaysian food security
