Investigating Social Media Marketing Adoption among Homestay Operators in Malaysia
The widespread use of social media has revolutionized communication, connectivity quality, and information consumption, making it an indispensable element in human daily lives. As such, social media marketing has emerged as a crucial tool for businesses to promote their products and services. In the case of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia, however, found that the adoption of social media marketing remains low, particularly among homestay operators. This study aimed to investigate the factors that influence homestay operators in Malaysia to adopt social media as a marketing medium. By employing a cross-sectional research design, a self-administered questionnaire was used to collect responses from a total of 208 homestay operators in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor. The results generated by the Structural Equation Modeling revealed that customer pressure and preference, as well as competitive pressure, have a significant impact on social media marketing adoption compared to perceived cost and digital skills. Significantly, this study provides valuable insights to the authorities to understand more about social media marketing adoption among homestay operators in Malaysia so that effective strategies can be highlighted to encourage SMEs in Malaysia to fully utilize new technology for business purposes. Overall, SMEs need to employ new technologies, specifically social media marketing for business growth as it provides extensive and effective connectivity at low cost

BUMDesa Financial Accountability: What is The Role of BUMDesa Accounting and Implementation of SAK ETAP?
The existence of BUMDesa can save the country from the economic crisis, as seen from the absorption of the number of workers in several provinces in Indonesia and the number of turnover that has successfully contributed to the village\u27s original income. However, the operational sustainability of BUMDesa is caused by the lack of quality of BUMDesa\u27s financial statements. There are still some BUMDesa that do not make financial statements because of the manager\u27s lack of understanding of accounting literacy. So it often happens that some BUMDesa experience not developing in their business activities and BUMDesa development funds are not optimally functioning. This study aims to determine the existence of BUMDesa financial accountability in terms of the role of accounting and implementation of SAK-ETAP. How is the understanding of BUMDesa managers regarding accountability embodied in financial statements currently the role of accounting is likened to an antecedent to the growth of BUMDesa. Measurements are carried out based on the size of BUMDesa, the manager\u27s educational background, and the provision of information and socialization of SAK-ETAP. In this study, theoretical studies will also be studied on how the preparation of BUMDes financial statements is applied to SAK-ETAP. This research uses a type of qualitative research using a descriptive approach based on phenomenology. This study\u27s results show that accounting\u27s role is very important in the success of BUMDesa in conveying its financial accountability. Socialization related to accounting literacy as well as financial literacy and assistance are also needed by most BUMDesa
Benthic community structure and geomorphology of uncharted nearshore reefs in Kuantan coastal waters.
The nearshore reefs play several important ecosystem functions in marine environments, especially in coastal areas. Six relatively unknown nearshore reef sites were surveyed in the southern Kuantan coastal waters using the coral video transect (CVT) technique between April 2021 and September 2022 to estimate coral reef benthic components. Data analysis on coral reef benthic components indicated that these uncharted nearshore reefs have ‘fair’ coral cover with an average percentage of 39.4 % ± 17.8 in which ST 1 recorded the highest live coral cover coverage with 68.06 %. Abiotic components (sand and rock) were the second-most abundant and the coverage of dead coral was relatively low at all stations. A total of 33 coral genera were recorded in this study in which Porites, Acropora and Montipora mean percentage cover dominated most of the reef sites. Bathymetry data indicated that some of these uncharted reefs were located on submerged shoals with a depth range between 12 – 17 meters. The variation in benthic community composition observed among reef sites highlights the importance of location-specific management and conservation strategies
Asymptomatic canine vector-borne diseases and diagnostic performance: Comparison between blood smears vs. conventional PCR
Across the globe, vector-borne diseases (VBD) are causes of health and economic concern, particularly for companion animals such as dogs and cats. The common clinical presentation ranges from subclinical to acute infection even a proportion with symptomatic manifestation. The diagnosis of asymptomatic animals with VBDs is quite challenging since veterinary practitioners do rely on presenting clinical signs to inform the choice of diagnostic plan. In Malaysia, blood smears (thin and thick) are employed in the diagnosis of VBDs such as babesiosis, anaplasmosis, theileriosis and trypanosomiasis. This method is readily available and inexpensive; however, the sensitivity and specificity are low as the diagnosis is strongly dependent on the experience of the examiner. Conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) on the other hand is used in larger veterinary clinics and hospitals in Malaysia and is only utilised when there is a suspicion of VBDs. This study attempts to compare the thin blood smear method and conventional PCR in the diagnosis of of Anaplasma phagocytophilum, A. platys, Babesia canis, B. gibsoni, Ehrlichia canis in dogs in Malaysia. Thirty clinically healthy dogs (17 males and 13 females) averaging 2 years of age were randomly selected from clinic walk-ins to screen for VBDs with both blood smear and conventional PCR. In general, the conventional PCR was 2.5 times more sensitive and specific than the blood smear in the detection of VBDs including Babesia canis, Babesia gibsoni and Ehrlichia canis in the asymptomatic sampled dogs. The detection rate for blood smears was 20% (6/30) in comparison with 50% (15/30). Therefore, it is imperative to conduct screenings for VBDs in dogs, even when they present as asymptomatic, in order to avert the oversight of potential health emergencies. Conventional PCR emerges as the recommended methodology for screening asymptomatic dogs for VBDs
Effects of foaming agent types and ratio with red flesh pitaya puree on physicochemical properties of foam-mat dried powder
Red flesh pitaya (Hylocereus sp.) is a highly perishable fruit with a high content of bioactive compound. It has short shelf life due to high moisture content and water activity. In this study, red flesh pitaya (RFP) powder was produced via foam mat drying method (FMD) with egg albumen (EA) and whey protein isolate (WPI) as the foaming agents. This study aimed to investigate the effect of foaming agent types and its ratio with RFP puree on physicochemical properties of foam-mat dried RFP powder. RFP fruit was incorporated and foamed with EA and WPI at 0 %, 5 %, 15 % and 30 % w/w concentrations. The foam was dried at 65 ?C for 5 hours. The powders were analysed for its moisture content, water activity, solubility, density, colour, fiber and total soluble solid (TSS). Decreasing the puree concentration from 85% to 55% while increasing the concentration of foaming agents (0% to 30%) has decreased the value of moisture content, water activity, crude fiber and colour properties. Meanwhile, the solubility, density and TSS of the foam-mat dried RFP powder was increased with increasing the concentration of both foaming agents (decreasing the ratio of RFP puree) used. The quality of powder foamed with WPI has produced the lowest in moisture content (2.86 %) and water activity (0.18), high in solubility (71.03 %), densities (0.56 g/cm3 and 0.84 g/cm3) and high in TSS (9.61). Meanwhile, the quality of samples foamed with 5% EA and 80% of RDF puree observed high in fiber content (3.38 %) and mostly retains the colour properties. FMD technique may be applied as the preservation technique of fruit powder as it has produced the powder with low moisture content and good colour properties within a short time and is more economical

Triple Threat: The Inspiring Story Of A Student, Mother, And Entrepreneur
It was a quiet night in July 2021. The clock on the wall showed it was past 10 PM. Syahira sat at her small desk, typing away on her laptop, trying to finish an assignment due the next morning. Her room was dimly lit, and the only sound was the soft clicking of her keyboard. From behind her, she heard small footsteps. Her four-year-old son, Aisy Akhtar, appeared at the doorway, holding his stuffed toy close.
“Mommy, I can’t sleep,” he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
Syahira turned to him with a tired but loving smile. “It’s bedtime, Aisy. You need to get some rest,” she said gently.
Aisy walked over, resting his head on her arm. “But I want to stay with you,” he whispered, his voice sleepy but stubborn.
Syahira stroked his hair softly. “I know, sweetheart. But I have to finish my assignment. How about you go lie down, and I’ll come tuck you in as soon as I’m done, okay?”
Syahira found herself constantly struggling to keep up with the demands of her life. As a young mother, a full-time student, and an entrepreneur, her days often felt like a race against the clock. Time management became her biggest struggle. No matter how hard she tried to organize her day, something always seemed to spill over into the next. Her nights stretched longer as she stayed up past midnight to finish her university work. She rarely had time for herself, and the constant juggling left her feeling overwhelmed and fatigued
