    Get PDF
The growing problem of electronic waste (e-waste) is a well-known global issue. This study aims to identify the factors that influence awareness of e-waste management among the Penang community in Malaysia, with a specific focus on sustainability. The primary objective is to investigate the Penang community’s understanding and attitudes towards e-waste management for a sustainable future. Six independent variables were examined: awareness, knowledge, attitude, government influence, moral obligation, and subjective norm. A survey questionnaire was distributed to 384 respondents in Penang. The findings revealed that attitude, government influence, moral obligation, and subjective norms significantly predict the Penang community’s e-waste management awareness towards sustainability. Surprisingly, awareness and knowledge, as components of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), did not significantly impact sustainability-focused e-waste management awareness. In conclusion, e-waste recycling initiatives should prioritize enhancing knowledge and creating specific cues to encourage habitual recycling behavior. This study also highlights practical and social implications for improving e-waste recycling policies. &nbsp

    Get PDF
This study examines mainstream school teachers' understanding and acceptance of inclusive education in Malaysia, involving a sample of 300 teachers. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through the Inclusive Practice Questionnaire and analysed using descriptive, frequency, correlation, and regression analyses. The results reveal that mainstream teachers face significant challenges in adhering to Malaysia's Special Education Needs (SEN) policy, including insufficient resources, large class sizes, inadequate training, and unclear policy guidelines. Although difficulties with parental involvement were noted, they were less significant compared to other challenges. The findings align with existing literature, which identifies insufficient training and resource limitations as primary barriers to effective policy implementation. However, some studies suggest that improved school leadership, collaboration, and teaching practices could alleviate these challenges despite resource constraints. Addressing these issues necessitates clearer policy directives, better resource allocation, reduced class sizes, and ongoing professional development for educators. Enhanced guidance and support systems are crucial for making Malaysia's SEN policy more effective and ensuring successful inclusive education. &nbsp

In the intensely competitive educational landscape of today, university reputation has become a major conversation point. Research has demonstrated the importance of a university's reputation in influencing the choices that prospective students make about which universities to attend. Using ranking and rating systems to assess a university's reputation is a common practice. The majority of these strategies are based on standards connected to the university's research output. This method highlights the 'outcome by design' idea, which states that the data, observation, or measurement to be collected must be defined during the planning phase of any activities or programmes. As a consequence, the information accumulated can be transformed into significant outputs such as complete reports, documentation, and analysis for academic publications. Using this strategy, the university is going to be able to capitalize on these outputs to enhance their score on numerous significant ranking methodology indicators, ensuring that their reputation is at its highest possible level
