    Get PDF
This study investigates final-year UPTM undergraduates’ attitudes towards technology in learning English. Technology has been widely used in education for effective learning, therefore, it is crucial to understand students’ attitudes towards it to develop better learning strategies. This research aims to identify what kind of technology is more sufficient for students in learning English and to investigate students’ attitudes towards using technology in learning English. A quantitative approach was conducted using a structured questionnaire distributed to 100 students across three facilities, where all of the programmes are for non-English majors. The data collected were analysed descriptively to measure the frequency and patterns of technology usage. The findings revealed that the majority of the students have positive attitudes towards technology, such as Google Translate, WhatsApp, TikTok, Duolingo, and Google Docs. However, digital tools with limited accessibility, such as Apple Pages, showed lower usage. These findings suggest that students are willing to use technology in learning English when the tools are practical, accessible, and aligned with their learning needs. This study concludes that fostering positive attitudes towards technology can enhance self-learning and effective language learning experiences

Ruqyah Therapy is one of the branches of Islamic medical practice that has gained increasing attention in Malaysia at the individual, organizational, and governmental levels. This development aligns with the role of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division (T&CM) under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, which is responsible for regulating and monitoring recognized traditional and complementary medical practices, including Islamic medicine. The enforcement of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Regulations 2021 under Act 775 reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring legal compliance, enhancing professional standards, delivering quality services, and safeguarding patient safety. A significant value-added milestone for Ruqyah Therapy was achieved when it was officially approved as a National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) in 2017, thereby recognizing it as a formal government-endorsed competency framework. The NOSS for Ruqyah Therapy, registered under the Department of Skills Development Malaysia, comprises three certification levels: Level 3 (Malaysian Skills Certificate), Level 4 (Malaysian Skills Diploma), and Level 5 (Advanced Malaysian Skills Diploma). This study aims to analyze, adopt, and promote the application of a structured therapeutic method model in Ruqyah Therapy for the general public in Malaysia. A qualitative and library-based research approach was employed through systematic analysis of official NOSS documents and reference materials from established Ruqyah practitioners of Darussyifa’. The findings reveal that all three Level 3 Competency Units have adopted a standardized Ruqyah treatment method consisting of Ruqyah recitation, Blowing, Tapping, Drinking, and Bathing, collectively formulated under the RTTMM method. This model provides a systematic and structured therapeutic framework that strengthens the professional practice of Ruqyah Therapy within Malaysia’s Islamic medical landscape

Corporate Governance as A Catalyst in The Nexus between Green Intellectual Capital and Organisational Sustainability: a Conceptual Insight

    Get PDF
Sustainability is an important strategic goal that businesses are factoring in, as its implementation guarantees long-term competitiveness and positive societal impacts. In emerging economies, sustainability is of greater importance as environmental pressures, resource limitations, and stakeholder demands pose an increasing threat to industries. In this context, this study demonstrates how corporate governance mechanisms improve and strengthen the association between Green Intellectual Capital (GIC) and organizational sustainability (OS) by drawing on the Natural Resource-Based View (NRBV) and Stakeholder Theory. To the best of our knowledge, this is the unique study to conceptualize corporate governance mechanisms as a driving force that strengthens the association between GIC and OS within the context of emerging economies. The outcome of this study will help both government and industry decision-makers strengthen governance structures that support the effective use of environmental knowledge and responsible management practices. Furthermore, the study will serve as a conceptual foundation for future empirical investigations and encourages further examination of governance-driven sustainability transformations in emerging-market contexts

However, in the real world, teachers may sometimes display both positive and negative behaviors. One such negative behavior is favoritism. This report discusses the definition and concept of favoritism in educational settings. Favoritism shown by educators towards certain students can cause others to feel neglected, confused, and demotivated, which may lead to negative effects on their academic performance and emotional well-being. The study also examines several factors that contribute to favoritism, including students’ physical appearance and their social and economic backgrounds. Hence, this report also provides recommendations on how to address and reduce favoritism in schools and higher education institutions

Virtual Reality Acceptance in Tourism Product Information: A Study among Young Travelers in Pulau Pangkor, Perak.

    Get PDF
Virtual reality (VR) refers to a computer-generated simulation that facilitates interaction between users and digital systems, offering immersive three-dimensional (3D) visual experiences that closely replicate real-world environments. This technology is particularly advantageous for presenting tourism product information. In recent years, VR has garnered substantial attention within Malaysia’s tourism industry due to its capacity to deliver interactive, engaging and distinctive experiences for tourists. Conventionally, acquiring tourism-related information at physical tourism counters can be both time-intensive and costly, as it typically involves direct, face-to-face engagement. VR presents an innovative alternative by enabling young travelers to obtain tourism information remotely, without the need for physical presence. As an emerging technology, VR demonstrates significant commercial potential, particularly within the tourism domain. This study seeks to explore the acceptance and ace of VR for accessing tourism product information among young travelers in Pulau Pangkor, Perak. A non-probability convenience sampling technique was employed, whereby questionnaires were distributed to a sample of 100 young respondents. The results indicated that Hedonic Motivation exhibited the strongest correlation with behavioural intention to use VR (Pearson’s r = .781), identifying it as the principal factor influencing VR adoption. These findings suggest that young travelers are increasingly receptive to VR as a viable alternative to traditional means of obtaining tourism information, such as physical tourism counters or online searches. The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence on VR adoption in the Malaysian tourism context and offers valuable insights for future research and technological development in this area
