    No full text
In this paper, the author explores the implications of the structural change on incomes by investigating the average weekly incomes of full-time workers on the basis of their qualification (higher degree, degree, diploma or certificate III/IV) and their occupation. The occupational classification we have used is the four digit ANZSCO with some 470 individual occupations. The data comes from the Population Censuses of 2011 and 2021.Mackenzie Research InstituteMackenzie Research Institute, Advisory Boar

Investigating the effects of intraprofessional learning in nursing education: protocol for a longitudinal study

    No full text
Open accessInterprofessional learning (IPL), where nursing students learn how to work with multiple health professionals in their future practice to deliver the highest quality of care, has become an essential feature of undergraduate nursing programs. Intraprofessional learning (IaPL) is where individuals of two or more disciplines within the same profession collaborate; however, there is a dearth of literature investigating its effects in nursing education. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of IaPL on the development of nursing students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes for collaborative practice. The study will utilize a mixed methods approach with surveys conducted at six time points across two years of two nursing programs and focus groups at the end of the program. Participants will be recruited from the Diploma and Bachelor of Nursing programs at an Australian Training and Further Education institute. Four specific IaPL educational experiences incorporating simulation will be developed on aged care, mental health, complex care and acute care. The study will provide nursing students with multiple opportunities to develop the necessary capabilities for collaborative practice. It will longitudinally evaluate nursing students' attitudes towards IaPL and examine whether IaPL motivates Diploma of Nursing students to pathway into a Bachelor of Nursing degree. The study will also investigate awareness amongst nursing students of the scope of practice, roles and responsibilities of the nursing team.NursingHolmesglen InstituteFaculty of Health and Social Sciences, Western Norway University of Applied SciencesSchool of Health Sciences, The University of NewcastleSchool of Allied Health Science and Practice, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, The University of Adelaid

Open Access.Identity and Access Management proposes a web service that assists in controlling the entire work through secured ways. This research study has been started to highlight the importance of IAM by discussing its roles, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. It is a framework comprising processes, policies, and the latest technologies, allowing the organization to monitor digital identities and control exclusive access to follow information based on user data. The IAM component proposes an approach of centralized user management, account management console, authentication approaches, and so on. In this research work, roles and key components of IAM have been discussed with all types of possible challenges. Furthermore, this research will help readers and future researchers easily identify the importance of IAM in maintaining security systems within organizations.Computing and Information TechnologyHolmesglen Teache

Researching women in sport development: an intersectional approach.

    No full text
Despite an increase in published research investigating the development of sport for women and girls, to date there have been no attempts to review scholarly contributions rigorously and critically in this area. To address this issue, we first conducted an integrative review of research literature to portray an overarching and holistic picture of the field. Our comprehensive literature analysis following five-step process, provide evidence of the status quo of current research foci, authorship, theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and key research findings. Through this initial review, our study identified a distinct lack of intersectional representation of women and girls in the literature. As such, our focus shifted to a critical analysis and discussion of the intersectional works in the body of literature, calling to action for more thoughtful engagement with research participants, contexts, and foci. We conclude our study by providing new perspectives on key issues in research focused on developing sport for women and girls, and by outlining current research and theoretical gaps that provide the basis for future scholarly enquiry.Sports Media and Sport Business DegreesHolmesgle

Embedded library support within TAFE and dual sector courses for improved learner support and visibility: An emerging opportunity. This paper discusses an embedded library program piloted at Holmesglen Institute and the results of a ‘learner survey’ of learners within participating courses. It argues that an embedded library program presents an emerging opportunity within TAFE and dual sector libraries to introduce an additional learner support service to provide highly targeted information literacy skills building and research support.LibraryHolmesglen Institut

Understanding the 2021 Australian Open through an Elias lens: a case of tension, conflict and athlete outsiders

This is pre-published version of this article. The 2021 Australian Open was like no other previous edition of the Grand Slam tennis event. Australia had virtually closed its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had cut itself off from the rest of the world. Accordingly, this global event was not met with the usual enthusiasm from locals, who instead were concerned that it could increase the transmission of COVID-19 in the community. By drawing on the theories of Norbert Elias (1976, 1978) this analysis interprets the complex, evolving, dynamic environment in which the 2021 Australian Open was held. We also attempt to understand how COVID-19 intensified the ways in which Melburnians identified with and related to each other through shared experiences, and how those who displayed characteristics that did not align with their experiences and beliefs, including some of the international tennis players arriving for the Australian Open, were considered ‘outsiders,’ in constant tension with ‘insiders.’Sports Media and Sport Business DegreesHolmesglen InstituteSwinburne University of Technolog
