RELIGIOUS MODERATION, EXPERT, SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT NEWBIE?: RELIGIOUS EXTENSION OFFICERS IN SOCIAL MEDIA
Get PDFAbout sixty-seven thousand religious extension officers (Penyuluh Agama), representing six religions in the state service, are on the frontline of the massive campaign of religious moderation organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. They are the sole body with religious competence dealing with the increasing religious conservatism, radicalism, and extremism. The study observed Penyuluh's digital performance and agency in social media. It describes the complexity of their position within the challenge of religious extremism, the execution of a religious moderation campaign, and social media engagement. Data collection utilizes mixed methods, while the analysis employs netnographic and descriptive-inductive methods. The findings demonstrate the digital divide context, the tendency of Penyuluh to reproduce the structure, hence limiting their agency, limited digital mastery and digital literacy of many of Penyuluh, fragmented institutional information system, and the vulnerability of instant messenger engagement that is prone to epistemic bubble and echo chamber effects

Get PDFThe teaching tradition of Islamic boarding schools has encountered deterritorialization. Islamic boarding schools that used to be distinguished by traditionality have transformed the management, financial, and learning traditions following digital developments. This article aims to examine the substantial shift in Islamic boarding school intellectual traditions from traditional to digital, which will then be called 'online recitation’, through live Facebook streaming content of Kuliah Ihya' Tematik (Ihya' Thematic Lectures) and Ngariksa (Questioning). The data were collected through documentation, surveys, and in-depth interviews involving kyai, production teams, and online santri (student) of two Facebook accounts: Ulil Abshar Abdalla (Ihya' Thematic Lectures) and Oman Fathurahman (Ngariksa). Data was analyzed using netnography through investigation, interaction, immersion, integration, and incarnation stages. The results showed values, rituals, heroes, and symbols in the deterritorialization culture of Islamic boarding schools. Followers of the online recitation get a social experience (becoming more sensitive to social issues) and a ritual experience (calmness in living life) after participating in the Ngaji online through live streaming or recorded playback. Research contributes to the development of Islamic communication science, where Islamic boarding schools, as the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, can communicate with the broader community about learning activities in Islamic boarding schools through social media, which is of great interest to the public

No full textThe relocation of the grave of Junaidiyah tharȋqah’s leader, Shaikh Muhammad Qurthubi, in Palangka Raya is unique. It was done without dismantling the old grave or moving his body. This unusual step was based on mystical messages from the shaikh’s spirit to his chosen students. This research explores why this action was taken and how this mystical doctrine became the community's shared belief. It is a qualitative study, and data were collected through interviews and observation using a phenomenological approach. The research findings are analyzed using theories of group communication, ritual communication, and the psychology of communication. The results show that Junaidiyah tharȋqah is a primary group with norms and doctrines that members must follow, determining their communication patterns. These patterns tend to be one-way in matters of teachings and spirituality and multidirectional in administrative and institutional matters. Interpersonal communication is intimate and solid. The research implies that the Junaidiyah tharȋqah's mystical doctrines deeply influence their members' communication patterns, fostering unwavering spiritual loyalty and shaping unique interpersonal and group communication dynamics

Traditional Islam and Modern Atheism According To Mustafa Sabri’s Thought
Get PDFMustafa Sabri (1869-1954) was the last Islamic sheikh of the Ottoman Caliphate who adhered to the traditional madhhab, as depicted in his work entitled Mauqif al-'Aql wa al-'Ilm wa al-'Aalam min Rabb al-'Alamin wa Ibadihi al-Mursalin. The central issue in Sabri's work revolves around countering the secularization of the Islamic world, particularly the efforts led by Mustafa Kemal Pasha. This research adopts a library research approach, focusing exclusively on analyzing Sabri's Mauqif al-'Aql wa al-'Ilm wa al-'Aalam min Rabb al-'Alamin wa Ibadihi al-Mursalin as the primary source. The findings of this research reveal that, according to Sabri, religion is the most fundamental principle, one that is unchangeable by anyone. Sabri clearly distinguishes between faith and deeds, emphasizing that Islam is primarily a religion of faith rather than merely one of deeds. This is because, in Sabri's view, a person's faith determines whether their deeds are accepted in religion
Factor Analysis of the Trauma Symptoms Checklist for Children (TSCC) in Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse
Get PDFThis study aims to perform reliable analysis and factor analysis of the TSCC instrument to measure trauma in CSA survivors. This research method used the CFA technique while the sample of this study was 62 children with several criteria, namely aged 8 to 17 years, had a history of experiencing sexual violence in the previous two years, and were willing to participate in this study. The results of this study indicate that the CSA instrument is proven to be reliable with score 0.862 and the EFA results show that there are two factors formed. The first factor consists of post-traumatic stress, anxiety, dissociation and sexual concern which is called the neuroticism factor. The second factor consists of depression and anger which is called the depression factor. It is hoped that the results of this study will be able to provide a valid instrument for measuring trauma so that it can be applied to children who have experienced CSA so they can get the right intervention to heal their trauma

Get PDFThis research aims to identify cases of rape victims committed by blood parties where the victim has experienced pregnancy and followed by abortion, this research will be reviewed through Women's Human Rights. Women are entitled to receive justice and legal protection by the government. Abortion or better known by its legal term, abortus procatus which in Latin has the meaning and meaning of deliberate abortion of the womb. Abortion is one of the many health cases that claim many victims, abortion is also one of the health cases included in the criminal act. Criminal regulation of abortion is not without reason, this is done one of them with the aim of saving women's health. Departing from one of the cases that occurred in the community, especially in Batang hari district, where the victim was raped by her own biological brother to experience pregnancy and abortion. The research method used in this study uses normative research using legal norms using a case approach. The results can be concluded that all forms of legal provisions regarding abortion, stating that the act of abortion is not allowed unless there are certain indications that allow it. So that there needs to be legal corrective action related to abortion, especially in certain conditions in order to create a sense of security and justice for others

Get PDFThe elsimil certification programme (siap nikah dan siap hamil) is an electronic application-based nutrition screening programme and premarital health assistance for prospective brides and grooms which is intended as an effort to help plan the formation of a healthy, quality family, ready for marriage and especially ready for pregnancy. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of elsimil certification for prospective brides as one of the requirements for marriage administration in Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency in 2023 with a review of maṣlaḥah mursalah. The research method used is qualitative field method, with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of elsimil certification in Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency, is not fixed on the rules that require 3 months of assistance before marriage, because for those whose marriage registration is too tight, elsimil certification assistance can be proposed after marriage. So, the bride-to-be can still get married according to the planned time and certainly does not complicate the marriage. The benefit contained in the elsimil certification is ḥājiyyāt because it can avoid difficulties in the framework of ḥifẓu an-nasl
Analisis Kinerja Baznas Kabupaten Sukoharjo Dengan Metode Balanced Scorecard
Get PDFThe optimization of zakat management requires strong institutional support. One effort to achieve this is by evaluating the performance of zakat management institutions, particularly the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS). Several performance measurement models have been developed, such as IZN, IDZ, CIBEST, IMZ, ISZM, and the Balanced Scorecard. These models enable a comprehensive and simultaneous performance evaluation of BAZNAS. For example, a previous study analyzed the performance of BAZNAS Sukoharjo using the IZN model, with results indicating a "fair" performance. To build on this research, the present study uses field research with a descriptive qualitative approach, employing the Balanced Scorecard analysis. It measures performance from four perspectives: financial, customer (muzakki), internal business processes, and learning and growth. The results show that the performance of BAZNAS Sukoharjo, evaluated using the Balanced Scorecard, is rated "good" in the financial (zakat fund growth), customer (muzakki), and internal business process (programs implemented) perspectives, with a score of "1." Furthermore, the learning and growth perspective also achieved a "good" rating, with a score of "1." These results indicate that the performance has met the work targets, as well as the institution's vision and mission
