The Role of Majlis Taklim in Medan City: Institutional Growth, Religious Education, and Social Transformation
This study examines the historical and social development of Majlis Taklim in Medan City, focusing on its institutional evolution, the expansion of religious education, and its significant role in community empowerment. Using a qualitative methodology with a historical and social science approach, the research reveals how Majlis Taklim has grown from informal gatherings into structured institutions that not only provide religious education but also serve as centers for social and humanitarian activities. The findings highlight three key aspects: the social and political factors behind the establishment of Majlis Taklim, its formal institutional development, and the diversification of activities to include technology, social media, and targeted programs for different segments of society. Additionally, Majlis Taklim’s collaboration with governmental and religious organizations has strengthened its role in promoting Islamic values while addressing contemporary social issues. The study also identifies challenges such as limited resources, leadership issues, and the need for modernization to maintain relevance. The research concludes that Majlis Taklim plays a crucial role in shaping religious understanding, fostering social cohesion, and contributing to the social welfare of Medan’s Muslim community
Baby Shaming as a Cyberbullying Phenomenon Against Babies Through Social Media
The phenomenon of baby shaming is common in our society. Baby Shaming is a form of bullying aimed at babies and toddlers. Although the impression of baby shaming only means joking and small talk, in fact baby shaming is a form of verbal violence that comes from words and comments on social media and is included as cyberbullying because it can offend and even hurt the parents of the baby or toddler who is the victim of baby shaming. Using the netnography research method in an online qualitative approach, this article looks at the phenomenon of baby shaming that occurs on the Instagram accounts of Indonesian artists, namely Tasya Kamila and Shandy Aulia. These two artists who have babies/toddlers experience cyberbullying in the form of baby shaming by netizens. Cyberbullying in the form of baby shaming occurs because society has ideal standards that are seen from body parts such as body size (too thin, fat, short, tall), limb shape (stomach, chest, teeth), skin color (black, white), to hair (thin, curly, bald, infertile). Baby shaming in the form of cyberbullying that occurs through social media can be categorized as a criminal offense that has been regulated in Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law). This baby shaming will have an impact, especially for the baby's mother both psychologically and socially. There are several things that can be done if you experience this baby shaming, namely not blaming yourself, focusing on child development, and also closing social media accounts and also being ignorant. Whether the comments are in person or through the media, baby shaming can still be categorized as bullying so the culture of small talk that leads to baby shaming must be stopped.

The Command of Jilbāb in the Quran: Between Symbols of Piety and the Issue of Women's Exclusivity in Public Spaces
This research is motivated by the fact that several cases have been found where veiled women experience marginalization both in society due to their style of veiling (niqab) and in the workplace. This is certainly contrary to the intent of the Qur'anic verse prescribing veiling, which is meant to protect women. Therefore, this study aims to re-examine the Qur'anic verses that discuss jilbāb by considering the inclusive space for women in the public sphere. This research uses a phenomenological approach, intertextual method, and Margot Badran's Islamic feminism theory. This study finds that the interpretation of the jilbāb verse shows a trend that the essence of the jilbāb is to protect the dignity and honor of women, with various interpretations of its form. Some interpret jilbāb as a cloth covering the head of a woman, while others see it as modest clothing. Initially, the protection prescribed by the jilbāb was understood internally as a command to cover the 'awrah. However, as cases of marginalization against veiled women have emerged, the jilbāb can now be understood not only as protection through covering the 'awrah but also as protection of women's rights legally and socially. Therefore, this study does not justify the marginalization of veiled women for any reason
Improving Scientific Literacy of Muslim Higher Education Students through Social Media
This paper explores social media as a means to improve the scientific literacy of Muslim higher education students. A qualitative study was conducted with data collected from interviews, observations, documentation, forum group discussion, and questionnaire. Triangulation method was used to validate the data, while interactive analysis was performed to analyze the data. This study demonstrates that Muslim higher education students were familiar in using social media to improve their knowledge regarding the inclusiveness of Islam. In this context, three major types of media were social media networks (WhatsApp and Facebook), sharing media (Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok), and blog and microblog (blog and Twitter). Nevertheless, social media brought adverse impact on the management of lecture materials, triggered self-insecurity, and spread hoax or fake news
Pesantren dan Disabilitas: Praktik Sosial dan Dinamika Pendidikan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus
Inclusive education, which provides access to education for children with special needs, is greatly needed in society. However, to this day, the availability of suitable education for children with special needs remains limited. On the other hand, pesantren, as a unique educational institution in Indonesia, holds great potential for developing inclusive education. This study aims to explore the implementation of inclusive education in pesantren through a phenomenological approach, in order to understand the lived experiences of the pesantren community in the process of academic reform, including the dynamics, debates, and contradictions within it. The research was conducted at Ponpes Autis Achsaniyah Kudus using data collection methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis adopted the qualitative analysis model by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings of the study indicate that pesantren, with its tradition of openness (inclusivity) and respect for human rights (humanitas), is capable of providing the inclusive education needed by society and serving as an effective platform to realize inclusive education within the community

It means that the writer shows the positive perception subjectively whereas the society shows the positive and negative perception objectively in the texts
Al-Awbi'at fi al-Turats al-Islami: al-Tashkhis wa al-Waqaya wa al-'Ilaj
The Islamic world, like other nations, has faced numerous pandemics throughout history, profoundly shaping its societal landscape. Muslims historically addressed such challenges in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), employing both spiritual practices, such as supplication and purification rituals, as well as practical measures. Among the most devastating pandemics was the Black Plague in the mid-8th century, which ravaged the Islamic world and beyond, spanning Asia and Europe. This pandemic reshaped demographics and left a lasting impact on states and societies. Islamic scholars and physicians played pivotal roles during this crisis, documenting its effects, proposing solutions, and contributing to medical advancements. This research aims to explore the contributions of Muslim scholars and doctors in combating the Black Plague, documenting their writings, proposals, and medical interventions. By examining their efforts, we gain insights into historical approaches to pandemics and strategies for prevention and treatment
Investigating the impact of internal finance, ICG, and CSR on the profitability of Islamic Commercial Banks
Despite the rapid growth of Islamic commercial banks, their Return on Assets (ROA) performance continues to lag significantly behind that of conventional banks, highlighting substantial challenges in enhancing efficiency and profitability. This discrepancy poses a potential threat to their competitiveness in an increasingly saturated banking market. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of internal finance management, the implementation of Islamic Corporate Governance (ICG), and Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR) on the profitability of Islamic banks. The research sample comprises 10 Sharia-compliant commercial banks in Indonesia, covering the period from 2015 to 2023, with a total of 90 observations. This study examines the effects of Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Islamic Corporate Governance (ICG), Non-Performing Finance (NPF), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) on the financial performance of Islamic commercial banks. The financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA), while ICG and CSR are assessed through a social disclosure index. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression in Eviews 10. The hypothesis testing revealed that NPF and ICSR negatively affect financial performance, while CAR, FDR, and ICG had no significant impact

Politik Representasi Identitas Perempuan dalam Media: Wacana Kritis Pemberitaan KDRT di suara.com
Domestic violence (DV) is a complex problem with significant implications for the lives of women and children. Women's identities are often portrayed negatively and stereotypically as housewives, caregivers, weak, helpless, and submissive. Men's views tend to see women as sexual objects, sex symbols, objects that reinforce patriarchal patterns, and vulnerable to harassment and violence. This study aims to uncover the politics of women's representation in reporting domestic violence on suara.com. The politics of representation in this context refers to the way the media presents and constructs narratives about violence against women. The focus of this study is to understand how the media depicts cases of domestic violence, especially in the context of women's representation. The research method used is qualitative research with Sara Mills' critical discourse approach. Data were obtained through reading, understanding, recording, and identification using this approach. The results of the analysis show that the media still often depict women in a stereotypical framework that shows them as weak, causing problems, and emotional, for the benefit of the media company itself
