The Urgency of Internalization of Minangkabau Cultural Values At Education Institutions
Get PDFThis study aims to describe the importance of internalization of Minangkabau cultural values in educational institutions. Minangkabau cultural values are the result of the social interaction of the community in the Minangkabau traditional territory which later became the adagium of Basandi Syara`, Syara` Basandi Kitabullah (ABS-SBK). The Minangkabau culture owned by the Minangkabau community is experiencing degradation, for this reason there is a need for efforts to revive it. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. This research is also a field work through observation stages, in-depth interviews and data analysis. Data is also obtained through literature study, namely data relevant to the research theme. The results showed that Minangkabau cultural values could be integrated into the education curriculum and one of the most effective instilling cultural values through education. Internalization is a concept of cultural education that can be done through three stages, namely transformation of values, value transactions, and trans-internalization of values
The Social Construction of Shariah-Compliant Hotels: Exploring the Interplay of Conservatism and Politics in Public Policy
Get PDFThis research emphasizes the promotion of halal tourism, with a specific focus on the hotel industry as a key indicator. The objective of this study is to elucidate the social construction related to Sharia-based hotels, delving into the intricate relationship between religious values, political ideology, and considerations of public policy. Additionally, the research aims to examine the compliance conditions associated with Sharia labeling within these hotels. Employing qualitative methods, the study employs content analysis within the framework of existing policies and social construction. Furthermore, it utilizes participatory approaches involving five Sharia property business actors to assess the extent of Sharia practices within the hotel industry in Semarang City. The findings reveal that the management and services offered by Islamic hotel businesses do not comprehensively reflect Islamic understanding and identity. It is noteworthy that many practitioners in the Islamic hotel industry tend to base their Sharia concepts on consultations with Islamic religious leaders. Additionally, the incorporation of Sharia rules across various sectors, particularly within the tourism industry, is identified as potentially fostering a standardization of values. In response, the study suggests that policies and regulations should prioritize principles of public justice and guarantee equal constitutional rights to mitigate such homogeneity and preserve cultural diversity
The Judge's Paradigm In Deciding Criminal Cases Of Sexual Violence From A Victimological Perspective
Get PDFCriminal acts of sexual violence are widespread in society, and the aim of the research is to study and analyze a decision. The research methods used by researchers are normative juridical with case, statutory, and philosophical approaches. The primary legal material is the Sexual Violence Crime Law and Decision Number 72/Pid.Sus/2023/PN.Bau. while secondary materials: books, journals, etc., the interpretation used is grammatical and systematic interpretation. The results of the research show that the paradigm used by the Panel of Judges does not have a victimology perspective, as evidenced by the statement expressed by the victim witness who explained that the defendant was not the perpetrator of a crime of sexual violence, while the actual perpetrator had been appointed by the victim witness based on the photo submitted by the Counselor. The law and the perpetrator are still at large, while the defendant was legally and convincingly found guilty of committing the crime of sexual immorality. Therefore, the Panel of Judges ignored the facts of the trial. Apart from that, the panel of judges did not interpret the victim's witness statement as a standalone piece of evidence as regulated in the Sexual Violence Crime Law. So the author's suggestion is that it is important for the judge to have the victim's perspective, in this case, what the victim said is information that must be acknowledged at trial and It is necessary to evaluate the panel that examined and decided the case
Balancing the Scales: Strategies and Challenges of Women Workers Managing Dual Roles in Manufacturing Industries
Get PDFThe increasing presence of women in a manufacturing industry, highlights a significant shift in traditional gender roles while underscoring the challenges of balancing domestic responsibilities and professional obligations. This study investigates the dual-role conflicts experienced by female workers and explores the strategies they employ to achieve balance. Using a qualitative approach with a case study methodology, the research delves deeply into the dual-role phenomenon. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, utilizing purposive sampling for informant selection. Data validity was ensured through triangulation and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The study identifies two primary dimensions of conflict: time-based conflict and pressure-based conflict. Female workers implement five strategies to manage these conflicts: coping mechanisms for stress relief, leveraging social support from family and colleagues, effective time management through prioritization, ensuring meaningful quality time with family, and delegating domestic responsibilities to their children and spouses. However, the effectiveness of these strategies is often hindered by inconsistent delegation and insufficient support from the company and colleagues. The study concludes that enhanced support from both family and the workplace is essential to help female workers achieve a sustainable balance between their personal and professional lives.
GEOSEMIOTICS IN BALI LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE: DISSECTING THE INTENDED MEANINGS OF THE SHOPFRONT SIGNAGES
Get PDFThis article investigates salient components in Bali shopfront signages to discover the intended meanings behind the use of the signs and the use of English and its counterparts, in particular local/national languages, in them. Two approaches employed are geosemiotics–to construe the meanings of the signs–and linguistic landscape–to reveal the role of English and its counterparts in them. Bali, specifically Kuta was selected as the most affluent tourism area and is chosen due to the fact that it experiences the apparent change in its linguistic landscape. The former approach covers three prominent elements, such as interaction order, visual semiotics, and place semiotics, conceiving the whole message the sign makers convey. Meanwhile, the latter focuses on the revelation of the visibility of English and the local and national languages in the signages and the revelation of their implied meaning. The collected data are 10 signages, as these are most representative data to select, in terms of the outright blends of English and its counterparts. The result of the analysis indicates some facts conceiving interaction, visual and situational meanings. English was mostly found in the type of businesses, the offers and products, and slogan. The visibility of English along with local/national languages and their influence in all selected data indicates modernity, efficiency and effectiveness, luxury, being communicative, non-traditional manner, and happy-go-lucky sense. These demands can sometimes thwart marriage aspirations. This study explores the reconstruction and revitalization of uang panai using Muhammad Syahrur's limit theory to make it more affordable and achievable for men. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, a method that intricately describes specific phenomena or events and subsequently analyzes data to understand the emerging relationships and patterns. The findings indicate that by applying the minimum (al-hadd al-adna) and maximum (al-hadd al-a'la) limits, uang panai can be regulated based on the individual's income while maintaining the honor and dignity of the woman
The Implementation of Referendum as a Limitation to Autocratic Legalism in the Formation of the Nusantara Capital City Law
Get PDFThis study employs a normative legal research method to analyze the rule of law, legal doctrines, and principles related to the implementation of referendums as limitations on legislative authority. Using a statutory approach, the research examines relevant Indonesian legislation, including the 1945 Constitution, Law Number 12 of 2011 on the Formation of Legislation, and the IKN Law. Primary legal materials, such as key statutes, and secondary legal materials, including academic literature, form the basis of the analysis. The study also incorporates comparative insights from South Korea's Constitutional Court decision on capital relocation. Findings reveal that referendums, while essential to participatory democracy, have been marginalized in Indonesia following the repeal of referendum provisions. Furthermore, the study critiques the legislative process of the IKN Law, highlighting its limited public participation and potential indicators of autocratic legalism. By analyzing compliance with democratic principles and the rule of law, the study identifies critical issues, such as co-optation of legislative power, constitutional violations, and compromised judicial independence, emphasizing the need for robust safeguards to prevent authoritarian tendencies in democratic systems. This research contributes to understanding the intersection of legal frameworks, public participation, and governance in Indonesia and beyond
Humanist Concept in Settlement of Non-Performing Murabahah Financing
Get PDFThis research examines the process of resolving Non-Performing Murabahah financing, and how the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council (DSN) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) reviews the Settlement of Non-Performing Finance at Saving and Loan Association and Sharia Financing (KSPPS) Bayt al-Māl wa al-Tamwīl (BMT) Sakinah Mojolaban, Sukoharjo. This research is field qualitative research. The research results show that efforts to handle problematic murabahah financing carried out by BMT are by providing gradual administrative warnings, restructuring financing, rescheduling or other policies that apply at BMT. If the customer is unable to fulfill his obligations, BTM will auction off the customer's collateral. BMT also offers the option of contract conversion by creating a new contract for customers who cannot complete murabahah financing in accordance with the provisions of the Fatwa of the DSN-MUI No. 49/DSN-MUI/II/2005 Concerning Murabahah Contract Conversion. This effort was made to save BMT assets by applying Islamic and humanitarian values
EXAMINING THE ROLE OF ZAKAT AS ISLAMIC SOCIAL FINANCE AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Zakat as an Islamic Social Finance instrument which has an important role in reducing poverty must also target these dimensions. This research aims to analyze the role of zakat in reducing poverty from a material, social and spiritual perspective. The method used in this research is qualitative with literature review. The data used in this research is secondary data in the form of scientific articles and other publications that are appropriate to the research topic. The research results show that zakat has a role in reducing material poverty, social poverty and spiritual poverty. Zakat can alleviate material poverty by increasing the income of mustahik. Zakat can alleviate social poverty through strengthening solidarity and Islamic brotherhood in society which can become social capital for mustahik. Zakat can also increase the religiosity of mustahik through strengthening Islamic values as an effort to reduce spiritual poverty
Analisis Kesalahan Berbahasa Bidang Sintaksis pada Makalah Prodi Perbankan Syariah
Get PDFOne deviation from the rules of language use is language error. Conversational or written language that deviates from the rules includes language errors. Language errors often occur anywhere, anytime, including in professional settings and when writing scientific articles. This is evidenced by research involving the reading of papers from the Islamic Banking study program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The paper contains several grammatical errors. To analyze and evaluate language errors at the syntactic level in the fields of phrases and sentences in various student papers of the Islamic Banking study program UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, the authors conducted a study. This research utilizes a qualitative approach method. Techniques for collecting data that involve reading and taking notes. The study information comes from a number of papers written by students of the Islamic Banking study program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Language problems at the syntactic level can be found in a collection of papers written by students of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta in the Islamic Banking study program. According to research findings, there are errors in the field of phrases that occur due to the use of redundant words. In addition, a statement that does not have a subject or predicate, is illogical, contains unnecessary question words, or is not a subject is also a syntax error in a sentence.
Salah satu penyimpangan dari kaidah penggunaan bahasa adalah kesalahan bahasa. Bahasa percakapan atau tertulis yang menyimpang dari aturan termasuk kesalahan bahasa. Kesalahan bahasa sering terjadi di mana saja, kapan saja, termasuk di lingkungan profesional dan saat menulis artikel ilmiah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan penelitian yang melibatkan pembacaan makalah dari prodi Perbankan Syariah di UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Makalah tersebut mengandung beberapa kesalahan tata bahasa. Untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi kesalahan bahasa pada tataran sintaksis pada bidang frasa dan kalimat dalam berbagai makalah mahasiswa prodi Perbankan Syariah UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta maka penulis melakukan penelitian. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik untuk mengumpulkan data yang melibatkan membaca dan mencatat. Informasi kajian tersebut berasal dari sejumlah makalah yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa prodi Perbankan Islam UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Masalah bahasa pada tataran sintaksis dapat ditemukan pada kumpulan makalah yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta di prodi Perbankan Islam. Menurut temuan penelitian, ada kesalahan bidang frasa terjadi akibat penggunaan kata yang mubazir. Selain itu, pernyataan yang tidak memiliki subjek atau predikat, tidak logis, mengandung kata tanya yang tidak perlu, atau bukan subjek juga merupakan menjadi kesalahan sintaksis dalam kalimat
