Impact of emotional exhaustion and locus of control on psychological distress in parents of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities
In Pakistan, parents’ mental health is a crucial and under-researched topic, especially for parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) like intellectual disabilities (ID), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The aim of this study was to investigate the association between these variables and psychological distress in parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, compare the scores of mothers and fathers, and ascertain whether locus of control and emotional exhaustion can predict psychological distress. The study used validated tools, namely the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, Parental Locus of Control Scale, and Parental Stress Scale, to measure these variables in a sample of 180 parents (90 mothers and 90 fathers) selected from Sehat Medical Complex in Lahore. The results showed that psychological distress, locus of control, and emotional exhaustion are significantly correlated. While fathers showed a stronger internal locus of control, mothers reported higher levels of psychological distress and emotional exhaustion. Psychological distress is positively predicted by emotional exhaustion and negatively predicted by locus of control, according to regression analysis. The study discussed focused interventions to reduce parental stress and enhance coping strategies, as well as the gendered aspects of caregiving responsibilities. This study also offers insights into strategies for improving parental well-being and reducing detrimental effects on child development

Female Migrant Workers under Patriarchal Society: Case Study in Taiwan
Through the lens of normative feminism, this article examines the many difficulties experienced by female migrant workers within Taiwan's patriarchal framework. Taiwan's economy has mostly benefited from the labor of migrant workers, most of whom are women. Because of the country's pervasive patriarchal system, these workers frequently face complex gender-based problems. This study explores the overlapping layers of marginalization, exploitation, and discrimination faced by female migrant workers via the lens of normative feminist theory, drawing attention to the many difficulties that these women face as a result of Taiwan's patriarchal norms interacting with the job market, social structures, and cultural prejudices. Utilizing non-participatory observation and internet-based literature research, this article finds that there is a lack of research on gender-based factors that cause these challenges. Though there has been international support from labor protection-focused organizations, there are still limitations and loopholes in the existing legal protections available in Taiwan and sending countries of these workers, causing cases of risks faced by female migrant workers go undocumented at a large number. This study pushes forth the urgency for more robust instruments and government bodies that bind and regulate the treatments and protections towards these female migrant workers
Revisiting al-Ghazali’s Criticism on Scholastic Theology: An Examination of al-Munqidh Min al-Ḍalāl
The debate surrounding Ilm al-Kalam represents one of the enduring discourses in the Islamic intellectual tradition. While some scholars view it as an essential tool for safeguarding the creed through rational inquiry, others criticize it for prioritizing reason over divine revelation. This study employs a qualitative approach to explore Al-Ghazali’s contributions to the development of Ilm al-Kalam and critically examines his later critiques as articulated in his autobiographical work al-Munqidh min al-Ḍalāl. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali, a central figure within the Ash‘arite tradition, significantly shaped Islamic theological discourse through his extensive writings and intellectual influence. However, in the latter part of his life, he presented three major criticisms of Ilm al-Kalam: first, the rejection of rationality as a primary source of religious knowledge; second, a critique of theologians’ methods of refutation, which often lack independent reasoning; and third, their tendency toward taqlid (blind imitation). This study concludes that Al-Ghazali’s critiques reflect an epistemological anxiety over the limitations of reason in comprehending divine realities. Therefore, a balanced theological approach is needed—one that integrates rational reflection with the authority of revelation—to navigate the boundaries of Islamic theological thought more effectively
The role of personality traits and problem-solving strategies on altruism in university students
Altruism in society can reduce the problems caused by the decline of moral and humanistic values. To develop altruistic behavior, it is necessary to determine the personality traits and problem-solving ability that are likely to be associated with it. The aim of the study was to examine the role of personality traits and problem-solving strategies on altruism. A total of 454 university students (309 women and 145 men), chosen through a random selection method, participated in the research. The following scales were used for the study: Altruism Scale, Eysenck Personality Inventory-Extroversion Scale, and Social Problem-Solving Inventory-Short Form. No gender difference was found in altruism. Extroverts scored significantly higher than introverts on altruism and its subscales. According to the correlation analysis, there was a moderate positive relationship between altruism, extroversion, and social problem-solving skills. The regression analysis concluded that extroversion and social problem-solving skills explain 20% of the total variance in altruism. Extroversion and social problem-solving skills were found to significantly predict altruism. Future research should consider investigating possible moderating and mediating variables in the relationship between social problem-solving and altruism

Kemunduran Kesultanan Mataram Islam: Analisis Dinamika Kekuasaan Perspektif Ibnu Khaldun

Raising Taxpayer Awareness Through e-Filing Education by Tax Volunteers at KPP Pratama Semarang Gayamsari
Reporting Annual Tax Returns is now easier with e-filing. The existence of e-filing means that taxpayers can report their annual SPT anywhere and anytime. However, the reality in the field is that many taxpayers do not understand the use of e-filing. One of these obstacles is a lack of education on the use of e-filing.
