THE EFFECT OF GOLD PRICE FLUCTUATIONS ON CUSTOMER INTEREST IN GOLD INSTALLMENT INVESTMENTS

    No full text
Gold installment products at Bank Syariah Indonesia represent Sharia-compliant investment instruments that emphasize the principles of avoiding usury, gharar, maysir, and speculative practices, ensuring that transactions occur transparently and in accordance with Islamic financial ethics. This study aims to analyze the effect of gold price fluctuations on customer interest in investing in gold installment products at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Duri Hangtuah Branch Office. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type to determine the relationship between the variable of gold price fluctuations (X) and customer interest in investing in gold installments (Y). The research sample consisted of 67 respondents selected through accidental sampling techniques. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 25. The results show that gold price fluctuations have a positive and significant effect on customer interest, as evidenced by the calculated t-value of 9.513 > t-table 1.296 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.582 indicates that 58.2% of the variation in customer interest is explained by gold price fluctuations, while the remaining 41.8% is influenced by other factors outside the model, such as promotions, investment risks, and financial literacy. This study contributes to the Islamic finance literature by empirically demonstrating that volatility in Islamic gold prices can increase customer interest. Practically, these findings suggest that Indonesian Islamic banks should utilize real-time gold price monitoring in their Sharia-compliant marketing and customer education strategies

THE ROLE OF LIQUIDITY AND FINANCING RISK INFLUENCING PROFITABILITY OF SHARIA RURAL BANK IN INDONESIA

    No full text
This study aims to analyze and prove empirically the effect of liquidity and financing risk, either partially or simultaneously, on profitability at Sharia Rural Banks (SRB) in Indonesia during the period 2021 to 2024. This study uses a quantitative approach with monthly secondary data sourced from the Islamic Banking statistical reports of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics, classical assumption test, and hypothesis test. The test results showed that liquidity has a positive and significant effect on the profitability of SRB, which indicates that optimal liquidity management is crucial in achieving profits. In contrast, variable risk financing (NPF) was found to have no significant effect on SRB profitability, implying that SRB may have implemented effective risk mitigation strategies to mitigate the impact of NPF on net income. And simultaneously the liquidity and financing risk variables do not affect the profitability of the SRB in Indonesia. These findings provide practical implications for SRB management and regulators to focus strategies on balancing cash availability with productive financing allocation in order to achieve sustainable profitability

PERCEIVED QUALITY AND WILLINGNESS TO BUY AS DETERMINANTS OF PRICE CHANGE FREQUENCY: EVIDENCE FROM RETAIL STORES IN BANDUNG

    No full text
This study examines the influence of perceived quality and willingness to buy on the frequency of price change in the retail sector, using evidence from retail stores in Bandung, Indonesia. In highly competitive retail markets, price adjustments are often treated as firm-driven decisions; however, consumer perceptions and behavioral responses may also play a critical role in shaping pricing dynamics. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from retail consumers and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that perceived quality has a positive and significant effect on the frequency of price change, suggesting that retailers tend to adjust prices more frequently when consumers perceive product quality favorably. In addition, willingness to buy is found to positively influence price change frequency, implying that stronger consumer purchase intention encourages retailers to respond more actively through pricing adjustments. These findings demonstrate that price change frequency in retail settings is not solely driven by internal cost or competitive factors but is also influenced by consumer evaluations and market signals. As a contribution to the literature, this study offers a novel perspective by positioning price change frequency as an outcome of consumer psychological constructs rather than merely a determinant of consumer behavior. The results provide practical insights for retail managers in Bandung and similar urban markets to design pricing strategies that are responsive to consumer perceptions while maintaining strategic pricing consistency

Agricultural Education Program on Biosaka Production to Reduce Dependence on Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides in Sidosari Village

    No full text
Sidosari Village in Salaman District, Magelang Regency, has strong agricultural potential, mainly from rice farming as the main source of income. However, heavy use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has caused soil degradation, ecological imbalance, and health problems for farmers. This community service program introduced Biosaka, a natural elicitor made from local weeds, as an environmentally friendly alternative. Biosaka strengthens plant resistance to pests and diseases and can reduce chemical fertilizer use by 50 to 90 percent. The program used Participatory Action Research (PAR) with stages of problem identification, socialization, hands-on training, observation, and reflection. It was held from July 15 to August 2, 2024, at Sidosari Village Hall and involved representatives from 30 farmer groups. Participants successfully produced Biosaka solutions that met quality criteria, including homogeneity, absence of sediment, and appropriate pH and TDS levels. They also demonstrated high enthusiasm and provided positive feedback on the accessibility and benefits of Biosaka. The activity fostered collaboration among students, farmers, and the community, thereby increasing awareness and skills in sustainable agricultural practices. Results indicate potential improvements in soil health, reduced production costs, and long-term environmental sustainability in local agriculture

Training on HOTS-Based Question Development to Enhance Learning Assessment Skills of Teachers at MIN 5 Magelang

    No full text
Most teachers at MIN 5 Magelang have difficulty creating HOTS (high order thinking skills) questions due to limited conceptual understanding, lack of specialized training, limited time, and scarce learning resources. These factors make it challenging for teachers to design questions with a high cognitive level that align with Bloom's taxonomy and the learning context. Learning assessment skills are among the essential competencies teachers must possess. Compiling HOTS questions is a critical skill for teachers in the 21st century to prepare students for future challenges. This community service employs a unique service learning method by applying concentrated experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. This approach emphasizes collaboration and real-life experience, enabling teachers not only to learn theory but also to practice together. The results show an increase in learning assessment skills in compiling HOTS questions based on various indicators, including understanding HOTS questions, their characteristics, question levels, and Bloom's taxonomy

NEGOTIATING IDENTITIES: FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS AND INCLUSIVE MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION AT UIN SALATIGA

    No full text
This study aimed to investigate the mutual impact on inclusive multicultural education for new university students after the pandemic. The shift from online to offline meetings made them unaware that they were now university students who competed for negotiating identities. Applying the salad bowl and inclusive multicultural education, this ethnographic study selected 10 university students of the Faculty of Da’wa UIN Salatiga. Individual interviews and two FGDs were conducted. The first FGD was done to reveal recommendations for the second FGD. Banks’ dimensions of multicultural education are reflections to be considered: content integration, the knowledge construction process, prejudice reduction, equity pedagogy, and an empowering school culture and social structure. The research revealed that the first-year experience of these university students was used as a reflection time to depict the strategies they used in their intercultural communication experiences. The study revealed that the first year of living in a university was like a honeymoon phase, after being comfortable with the education system, due to the pandemic. Surprisingly, the dimensions of multicultural education can promote cultural diversity, though loyalty to ethnicities was still perceived. A prospective multicultural education is a way to promote differences among students while still keeping and negotiating their identities. Keywords: identity negotiation, intercultural communication, multicultural education, salad bowl mode

Evaluating Tyler’s Curriculum Model in Arabic Language Learning at MTs Alkhairaat Gorontalo: Evaluasi Model Kurikulum Tyler dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di MTs Alkhairaat Kota Gorontalo

    No full text
This study examines the implementation of the Tyler evaluation model in the Arabic language curriculum at MTs Alkhairaat Kota Gorontalo by positioning Islamic education as its epistemological context, in which Arabic functions as the primary medium for transmitting the intellectual heritage of Islam—including the Qur’an, Hadith, and the classical scholarly tradition. In global discourse, research on Arabic curriculum evaluation remains dominated by perspectives of design and planning, while empirical studies that assess how curriculum goals are realized in classroom practice within madrasahs are still limited. This study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing curriculum documents and teaching modules, as well as conducting interviews with the Arabic language teacher. The findings indicate that although the teacher has implemented goal-based evaluation, the practice remains procedural and not fully reflective, particularly in integrating dimensions of the humanities, Arabic sociolinguistics, and the formation of Arabic linguistic identity, all of which are integral components of language pedagogy within the tradition of Islamic education. Evaluation tends to be used to verify technical linguistic proficiency rather than as a diagnostic instrument to examine the alignment between goals, learning experiences, and learning outcomes. These findings suggest that Arabic curriculum evaluation in madrasahs needs to be strengthened so that it is not limited to linguistic competence, but also supports the internalization of values, identity, and religious literacy. This study provides empirical evidence that goal-based evaluation in Islamic education requires contextual adaptation to align with the role of Arabic as a carrier of the intellectual and spiritual heritage of the Muslim community

    Get PDF
This study discusses representative speech acts in digital comic discourse created by Mohammed Arif Vakil and Mohammed Ali Vakil reflecting the religious moderation among societies. The comic discourse campaigns for the importance of tolerance between human beings. The analysis focuses on the reflection of religious moderation in one chapter entitled ‘Ethic’ which describes the relation among human beings. The chapter is chosen due to its message which focuses on relation among people. The data of this research were obtained from the whole texts and pictures in the chapter. The texts in the comic became the main data whereas the images were put as secondary data. These data were then processed and classified into several speech act classifications proposed by Searle. The result shows that the most dominant speech act performed by the comic maker is representative speech acts. Meanwhile the directive speech acts are commonly used to give the direct moral lessons. The chapter reflects religious moderation in three points i.e. (1) applying good attitudes to others; (2) reflecting the moral value; (3) helping others without hurting the feelings by applying the representative and directive speech acts to convey the religious moderation. The representative speech acts function as the utterances of giving statement and admitting about something related with good deeds and never hurting others while the directive speech acts functions as the utterances of requesting, asking, and recommending certain things. The directive speech acts take the roles as the directive meanings on moral values

Examining Franz Brentano's Concepts of Good and Bad in Sophocles' Antigone: Insights for Islamic Moral Consideration

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to investigate the good and bad themes of love and recognition in Sophocles' Antigone, which is within the framework of Franz Brentano's philosophical concepts and Islamic views. The main questions asked are: How do love and recognition help to understand good and bad actions in the narrative of "Antigone"? And how do these themes resonate in Islamic moral views? To answer these questions, the research uses the method of literary analysis based on historical texts, philosophical theories, and religious insights. The analysis shows that the character of Antigone shows the conflict between family loyalty and social rules, showing that love can lead to noble actions with tragic consequences. Meanwhile, Creon's character represents the dangers of pride and blind judgment and tries to enforce human laws over divine principles. The findings highlight the complexity of ethical decisions and show that what is considered good or bad may vary based on individual perspectives and social norms. Finally, this research shows how Antigone's narrative reflects the interplay of love, cognition, and ethical dilemmas and makes Brentano's thoughts on ethics reconsidered in the light of Islamic teachings. This study concludes that a deep commitment to these themes encourages a more nuanced understanding of moral ambiguity and human behavior
