Qur’anic Interpretation of Dhikr and the Reconfiguration of Religious Authority in Digital Media
The rapid growth of digital da‘wah on YouTube has significantly transformed how Muslims engage with the Qur’an, repositioning the platform as a key site for religious interpretation and authority formation. This article examines how Qur’anic interpretation of dhikr contributes to the reconfiguration of religious authority in the digital sphere, focusing on the YouTube sermons of Ustadz Adi Hidayat (UAH). Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study integrates tafsir mawḍū‘ī (thematic exegesis) with critical discourse analysis to analyze sermon content and audience interactions in the comment sections. The findings demonstrate that UAH conceptualizes dhikr not merely as a verbal ritual, but as a comprehensive spiritual framework encompassing prayer, ethical discipline, and inner tranquility. Moreover, audience responses reveal the emergence of a digitally mediated “dhikr community” in which religious meanings are collectively interpreted and affirmed. This dynamic illustrates how YouTube functions as a space for Qur’anic meaning-making that reshapes traditional patterns of religious authority in contemporary Islam
Psychological interventions to improve academic motivation among first-year undergraduates in Nigeria
Academic motivation is important to students' success, yet many undergraduates have issues maintaining high levels of motivation throughout their studies. This study addressed the gap in research on effective interventions for enhancing academic motivation among undergraduate students in Oyo State, Nigeria. It investigated the effects of resilience skill training (RST) and goal-setting training (GST) with gender and academic self-efficacy as moderating variables. Using a quasi-experimental design with a 3x2x3 factorial structure, the research involved 59 university freshmen selected through multi-stage sampling. Two experimental groups (RST and GST) were compared with a control group, grounded in self-determination and social control theories. Validated instruments included the Academic Motivation Scale and the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale. Results demonstrated significant effects of interventions on academic motivation (F(2, 45) = 7.098, p = 0.002) and academic self-efficacy (F(2, 45) = 4.557, p = 0.016), while gender was not found to yield a significant effect (F(1, 45) = 1.206, p = 0.278). A significant two-way interaction emerged between intervention and academic self-efficacy (F(2, 45) = 3.837, p = 0.029). The study concludes that both RST and GST effectively enhance academic motivation among undergraduates. Key recommendations include integrating these interventions into university curricula and providing tailored interventions based on students' self-efficacy levels

Optimizing educational personnel for effective teaching factory implementation in vocational schools: A case study
There is a growing need to enhance the alignment between vocational education and industry requirements, yet research on the role of educational personnel management in optimizing teaching factory implementation remains limited. This study explores the management of educational personnel in the implementation of teaching factories as an innovative learning model. A teaching factory represents a dynamic and practical learning environment designed to integrate educational processes with industrial practices, bridging the gap between the competencies of students in vocational schools and the demands of industry for skilled workers. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were gathered through observation, participatory observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including the principal, the head of personnel, and the heads of expertise programs. Data analysis involved processes of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings demonstrate that St. Mikael’s approach to educational personnel management is both innovative and effective. By investing in teacher development, fostering collaboration, and addressing challenges proactively, the school has created an environment where both teachers and students thrive. These strategies not only enhance the competencies of educators but also prepare students to meet the demands of the modern workforce. The insights from this study provide valuable lessons for other vocational schools aiming to implement teaching factory models and align education with industry needs
Financial Performance Analysis of The National Zakat Management Institution Rumah Amal Salman
This study aims to evaluate the financial performance of the National Zakat Management Institution Rumah Amal Salman during the 2021–2023 period using the financial ratio analysis approach established by the PUSKAS BAZNAS guidelines. The research applies a descriptive qualita tive method supported by quantitative data obtained from the institution’s audited annual financial statements. Data were collected through documentation, observation, and literature review, then analyzed using four main ratio categories: activity, efficiency, amil funds, and growth. The data analysis process includes classifying financial accounts, compiling them into analytical tables, calculating financial ratios, and interpreting the results according to OPZ performance standards. The findings indicate that Rumah Amal Salman was categorized as effective in distributing Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) funds and relatively efficient in collection activities. However, operational cost efficiency still requires improvement. The amil fund ratio remains within acceptable limits, while the growth ratio shows a positive trend although it has not yet reached an optimal level. These results highlight the institution’s good financial governance and provide insights for enhancing transparency, accountability, and public trust in zakat management organizations

Harmonization of Dayak Customary Law and Islamic Values in Handling Cases of Pregnant Marriage in Sajingan Besar on the Indonesia-Malaysia Border, West Kalimantan
This study aims to explore the harmonization between Islamic values and Dayak customary law in addressing premarital pregnancy marriage cases in Sajingan Besar District, located on the Indonesia-Malaysia border in West Kalimantan. Premarital pregnancy marriage, or marriage triggered by out-of-wedlock pregnancy, is a complex and sensitive social phenomenon, especially in multicultural areas where religious and customary norms coexist strongly. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that although there are normative differences between Islam and Dayak customary law, both aim to uphold family honor, social stability, and the child's well-being. In practice, the Sajingan Besar community resolves such cases through customary deliberation mechanisms grounded in justice, responsibility, and the involvement of religious and traditional leaders. This harmonization is achieved through open dialogue and flexibility in interpreting both customary law and Islamic principles. The study demonstrates that integrating religious and local customary values can serve as an effective solution in managing moral and culturally-based social conflicts in border regions
SKOPOS THEORY AND CULTURAL BARRIERS TRANSLATION PERSPECTIVES: NEW VOICE IN CHILDREN'S TRANSLATION
This article explores the use of Skopos theory in translating children’s literature, focusing on how translation choices should be guided by purpose and context. Cultural sensitivity and alignment with the cognitive and emotional needs of children as readers are emphasized, following Oittinen’s (2000) perspective. Skopos theory supports adaptation beyond strict equivalence, offering a flexible approach to meet the needs of child audiences. The proposed method involves three key stages: (1) analysis, to understand the function of translation in the children’s literature context; (2) production, to create context-appropriate and culturally aware translations; and (3) promotion, to support the effectiveness and reliability of culturally sensitive translations. This study offers a practical framework to address linguistic and cultural challenges in translating for children, promoting a more thoughtful and audience-centred approach to children’s literature translation
SOCIAL ACTOR REPRESENTATIONS IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFLICT DISCOURSE BETWEEN TRUMP AND ZELENSKY
This study explores how the media construct social actor representations in the international conflict discourse between US President, Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, during their tense meeting at the White House in February 2025. Employing Theo van Leeuwen's (2013) Social Actor Representation model within the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework, the study examines six selected news texts from Al-Ghad and BBC News Arabic. Using a qualitative approach and interactive model analysis by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014), this research identifies key strategies of inclusion and exclusion used by each media outlet to position the two political figures. The findings reveal contrasting ideological patterns: Al-Ghad activates Trump as a dominant figure while marginalizing Zelensky through passivation and negative categorization; conversely, BBC News Arabic emphasizes Zelensky's agency while softening Trump’s image through passivization and nominalization. This study contributes to media discourse analysis by highlighting how ideological orientations influence the representation of global political actors and shape public perception. It also underlines the role of linguistic strategies in reproducing power relations in international conflict narratives
