TEENAGE SPEECH ERRORS: A PSYCHOLINGUISTIC STUDY OF RILEY'S UTTERANCES IN 'INSIDE OUT 2'
One aspect illustrating the connection between language and its psychological functions is speech production, which can reveal how psychological, cognitive, and physical conditions influence spoken language, potentially leading to speech production problems. This study investigates speech production issues in a fictional setting through the expressions of Riley, a character in the movie Inside Out 2, who faces emotional and cognitive challenges during adolescence. The aim of this analysis is to identify the variety of speech production errors and the underlying reasons for these errors in Riley's utterances. Using qualitative content analysis, the research applies Levelt’s (1989) speech production model, Warren’s (2013) theory of speech errors, and Clark and Clark’s (1977) framework to identify and categorize speech errors in Riley’s speech. Data were collected by documentation through watching Inside Out 2, transcribing Riley's utterances, identifying errors, and categorizing them by type, stage, and cause based on established theoretical frameworks. Eight types of errors were found i.e.: silent pauses, filled pauses, stuttering, repetition, substitution, anticipation, omission, and self-repair. The most common error is the silent pause, while substitution, anticipation, and repetition occur less frequently. Most errors are influenced by psychological factors, such as anxiety and emotional instability related to puberty, alongside cognitive and motor constraints. The findings demonstrate how emotional and cognitive challenges affect speech production in teenagers, highlighting the relevance of psycholinguistic theory in analyzing natural speech within fictional narratives
THE DISCURSIVE CONSTRUCTIONS OF PROTESTS AGAINST GOVERNMENT POLICIES BY INSTAGRAM POSTS
Social media has become an influential arena for expressing critical perspectives and resistance toward socio-political challenges. Its role in accelerating the circulation of information and shaping public responses is particularly evident in political contexts. This study investigates the implicit and explicit meanings conveyed in Instagram posts from the @serikatpekerjakampus account, employing a pragmatic discourse framework to examine how meanings are constructed and communicated. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research identifies speech acts and implicatures that appear within the multimodal discourse of the posts. The findings reveal that expressive illocutionary acts and imperative implicatures dominate communication strategies. These results indicate that while textual and visual elements apply different modes of meaning-making, they converge toward the same communicative objectives. The multimodal analysis further demonstrates that symbols, idioms, and images serve as semiotic resources of the protests against government policies and reinforce the posts’ critical stance. The implications of these findings highlight Instagram as a strategic platform for fostering critical discourse with strong pragmatic effects on shaping public opinion. In addition, this research positions social media as a significant subject of inquiry within critical linguistics and multimodal studies. Ultimately, the presence of digital criticism illustrates the tangible impact of social media practices on policy-making processes in contemporary socio-political landscapes
Reframing Muslim Identity: Representation and Power in Islamic Diasporic Narratives
Muslim authors who depict Islam or Muslim societies in a critical light are frequently accused by fellow Muslim critics of being cultural intermediaries (compradors) who perpetuate neo-Orientalist narratives and reinforce negative stereotypes of Muslims in Western discourse. This study examines how Islam and Muslim identities are represented in four key diasporic works, Husain’s The Islamist, Yassin-Kassab’s the Road from Damascus, Aslam’s Maps for Lost Lovers, and Moaveni’s Lipstick Jihad. By analyzing these texts, the paper explores the ethical and intellectual responsibilities of Muslim writers when revealing uncomfortable or contentious “truths” about their own communities. Across these narratives, Islam is frequently portrayed as a repressive system, whether in state forms such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, or within conservative diasporic contexts, such as Muslim communities in the United Kingdom. Through a comparative analysis, this paper interrogates whether these self-critical Muslim voices, articulated through both memoir and fiction, inadvertently reinforce hegemonic Western discourses that stereotype Muslims, or alternatively, whether they contribute to a more nuanced understanding of Islam’s diversity and the multifaceted experiences of Muslims in global contexts
Teachers' Pedagogical Adaptation to Digital Culture: Qualitative Insights from Technology-Mediated Language Teaching
The rapid expansion of digital culture has reshaped the pedagogical landscape of language teaching, requiring teachers to rethink their instructional practices within technology-mediated environments. This study aims to explore how secondary school language teachers adapt their pedagogical approaches to the demands of digital culture and what factors influence their adaptation processes. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected from ten language teachers in Kendal Regency through open-ended questionnaires and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that pedagogical adaptation is a multidimensional process characterized by shifts from teacher-centered to student-centered digital orientations, the development of context-responsive digital strategies, and the negotiation of sociotechnical challenges such as device inequality, unstable internet, and diminished authentic interaction in online settings. The results also show that teacher professional identity and reflective decision-making function as central mechanisms shaping the depth and direction of pedagogical adaptation. This study extends existing theoretical frameworks-including TPACK, adaptive expertise, teacher identity, and pedagogical reasoning-by demonstrating how they interact dynamically within digital language teaching contexts. Practically, the study underscores the need for professional development that emphasizes reflective digital pedagogy, institutional support for technological equity, and collaborative spaces for sharing adaptive practices. The findings highlight that effective digital language teaching emerges not merely from tool proficiency but from contextually informed instructional reasoning and identity-driven pedagogical transformation
Mbok Mase dan Peran Perempuan Priyayi dalam Industri Batik Laweyan Surakarta Pada Masa Kolonial, 1900-1970
Penelitian ini mengkaji peran "Mbok Mase" atau perempuan bangsawan/priyayi dalam memimpin dan mengembangkan industri batik di sentra Laweyan, Surakarta, selama era kolonial (1900-1970). Berbeda dengan narasi umum yang sering menonjolkan peran pengusaha laki-laki, studi ini berfokus pada dinamika kepemimpinan perempuan dalam ranah ekonomi, khususnya di tengah tekanan pasar global. Melalui pendekatan historis-analitis, ditemukan bahwa perempuan priyayi tidak hanya berperan sebagai pengelola keuangan atau pewaris, tetapi juga sebagai inovator desain, pengambil keputusan strategis dalam produksi dan pemasaran, serta penjaga kualitas dan tradisi motif batik. Posisi sosial mereka, yang terintegrasi dengan jaringan kekuasaan keraton, memberikan keuntungan unik dalam mengakses modal, bahan baku, dan pasar elit, menjadikannya kunci sukses. Masa kolonial, dengan segala tantangan perubahan sosial dan ekonomi, termasuk masuknya batik cap dan persaingan impor, justru menempatkan Mbok Mase sebagai figur sentral yang menjembatani tradisi dan modernitas. Mereka sukses mempertahankan keberlangsungan usaha keluarga (Batik Kompeni/Saudagar) melalui manajemen yang adaptif, sekaligus menegaskan otonomi dan kekuatan ekonomi perempuan dalam masyarakat Jawa, memberikan sumbangsih penting bagi perekonomian lokal.

The Quality of ChatGPT’s Arabic-Indonesian Translation of Matan al-Ghayah wa at-Taqrib: Implications for Arabic Language Learning in Pesantren: Kualitas Terjemahan Arab-Indonesia ChatGPT terhadap Matan al-Ghayah wa at-Taqrib: Implikasi bagi Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Pesantren
This study aims to evaluate the quality of ChatGPT’s translation of the classical Arabic text Matan al-Ghayah wa at-Taqrib, focusing on the chapters of THaharah (purification) and Zakah (almsgiving). The book serves as a key reference in Shafi‘i jurisprudence and is widely used in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). The assessment focuses on three core aspects of translation quality: accuracy, acceptability, and readability, based on the evaluation model developed by Nababan. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed. The primary data consist of 18 paragraphs translated by ChatGPT (GPT-4.0 free version) using specific prompt settings. Six evaluators-three experts in Islamic jurisprudence and three in Indonesian linguistics-assessed the translations using a three-point scale (1-3) for each aspect. Data were analyzed through professional judgment and the Miles and Huberman interactive model.Findings indicate that all translated texts achieved average scores above 2.5 across all aspects. The translations were generally accurate, natural in structure, and easy to comprehend. Minor issues in sentence length and stylistic variation did not affect overall clarity. The study highlights ChatGPT’s potential as an auxiliary tool for translating classical Arabic texts into Indonesian, emphasizing the need for expert supervision to ensure semantic precision and theological accuracy. These findings are important for strengthening students’ literacy in reading and interpreting classical Islamic texts and can inform the design of Arabic language learning activities based on kitab kuning in pesantren-based Arabic education
Hubungan Pola Pengasuhan Orang Tua Terhadap Kemandirian Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun di RA Al-Mu’min
Penerapan pola pengasuhan oang tua akan memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan anak. Salah satunya adalah kemandirian. Kemandirian menjadi salah satu sektor penting dalam perkembangan anak karena menyangkut kehidupan yang akan anak hadapi di masa selanjutnya. Oleh karena itu, orang tua perlu mendoroang anak agar mandiri sejak dini dengan cara memberikan pola pengasuhan yang tepat dan cermat. Sehingga, keberhasilan penerapan pola asuh orang tua akan dilihat dari kemampuan anak untuk tidak terus bergantung pada orang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan pola pengasuhan yang orang tua terapkan terhadap kemandirian anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Al-Mu’min. metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatf dengan desain korelasional. Hasil akhir penelitian diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,012 < 0,05 yang menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola pengasuhan orang tua terhadap kemandirian anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Al-Mu’min dengan derajat hubungan yang sedang yaitu sebesar 0,426
Interaksi Sosial Penggemar K-Pop Dalam Mengikuti Event Dan Perayaan Bias: Teori Pengaruh Sosial Herbert Kelman
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi sosial penggemar K-Pop dalam mengikuti event dan perayaan bias berdasarkan teori pengaruh sosial Herbert Kelman. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas empat penggemar K-Pop berusia 18–25 tahun yang berdomisili di wilayah Solo Raya dan dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam secara luring dan daring, dengan uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi sosial dalam fandom K-Pop memunculkan proses pengaruh sosial yang berlangsung melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu kepatuhan, identifikasi, dan internalisasi. Kepatuhan tercermin dari penyesuaian perilaku subjek terhadap norma dan aktivitas kelompok, seperti penggunaan dresscode, pembelian merchandise, dan pembuatan freebies. Identifikasi terlihat dari keterlibatan aktif subjek dalam komunitas serta upaya mempertahankan identitas sosial sebagai penggemar K-Pop. Selanjutnya, internalisasi ditandai dengan tertanamnya nilai kebersamaan, solidaritas, kerja sama, dan kepercayaan diri yang tercermin dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di luar konteks fandom. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa fandom K-Pop berfungsi sebagai ruang sosial yang tidak hanya memengaruhi perilaku secara situasional, tetapi juga berperan dalam pembentukan identitas dan nilai personal penggemarnya
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ISLAMIC ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE: A CONCEPTUAL STUDY IN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOLS
This study focuses on developing a conceptual framework of Islamic social entrepreneurship based on maqashid al-shariah and analyzing its relationship with the economic development of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). Employing an integrative literature review and qualitative content analysis, the research synthesizes theories of social entrepreneurship, maqashid al-shariah principles, and Islamic economic empowerment practices in pesantren. The findings demonstrate that maqashid al-shariah functions as a normative and evaluative framework that guides entrepreneurial activities to achieve equilibrium between spiritual, social, and economic aspects. The values of maslahah, ‘adl, and ta’awun form the ethical foundation for building a fair and sustainable model of social entrepreneurship within pesantren. This study proposes a conceptual model of maqashid-based pesantrenpreneurship that integrates Islamic social values with digital innovation and community cooperation. The study contributes theoretically by extending Islamic social entrepreneurship literature through a maqashid-driven approach and practically by offering strategic guidance for developing pesantrenpreneurship to enhance economic self-sufficiency and community welfare
Analisis Kemudahan Penggunaan Fitur Customer on Boarding pada Aplikasi Muamalat DIN di PT Bank Muamalat Cabang Pekanbaru
This study aims to analyze the ease of use of the Customer on Boarding (COB) feature in the Muamalat DIN application at PT Bank Muamalat Branch Pekanbaru. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques consisting of participatory observation and document review. Primary data were obtained through direct assistance to prospective customers opening accounts online, while secondary data came from internal bank documents and relevant literature. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the COB feature provides significant convenience to prospective customers, including independent account registration without visiting the branch, a fast procedure, secure digital verification, flexible time and location, and accounts that are ready to use immediately. However, several challenges remain, such as dependence on a stable internet connection, delays in receiving OTP codes, and the unavailability of services for foreign nationals. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, while research ethics were upheld through participant consent and the protection of personal data
