    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to identify the reasons male students use cosmetic products and to examine the perceptions of students in the Automotive Engineering Education program regarding the phenomenon of male grooming. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Semarang. The informants were categorized into three groups: male students who engage in male grooming practices, male students who do not, and female students. The study utilizes the concept of gender stereotypes. The findings indicate that several factors motivate male students to engage in male grooming, including family and peer pressure, job requirements, skin problems, the desire to maintain appearance, and the influence of social media advertising. The phenomenon of male grooming generates varied perceptions among students. For male students who practice male grooming, such behavior is considered normal. However, some male students who do not engage in male grooming, as well as female students, perceive it as inappropriate behavior for students in the Faculty of Engineering. The study reveals that gender stereotypes in the Automotive Engineering Education program remain evident and strongly influence perceptions of male grooming

    Get PDF
This study aims to evaluate the financial performance (profitability), credit risk, and liquidity of BPR and BPRS before and during the pandemic. The study focuses on analyzing the impact of credit risk and liquidity on profitability and the moderating effect of the guarantee interest rate on liquidity in relation to the financial performance of BPR and BPRS. Design/methodology/approach: A total sample of 1,349 BPR and 153 BPRS across Indonesia was analyzed using Stata software. The research employed quantitative methods to test the proposed hypotheses regarding the relationships between credit risk, liquidity, and profitability, while assessing the moderating role of the guarantee interest rate. Research Findings: The findings show that NPL/NPF significantly affects the financial performance (ROA) of BPR and BPRS, with an increase in NPL/NPF negatively impacting profitability. Additionally, the guarantee interest rate strengthens the positive relationship between LDR/FDR and ROA, indicating that higher interest rates improve fund management and financial performance. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study contributes to the literature by highlighting the significant role of credit risk management and the importance of interest rate moderation in enhancing the financial stability and profitability of BPR and BPRS. It also emphasizes the differences in risk management approaches between BPR and BPRS, especially during economic downturns like the pandemic

PARADIGMA DOMINASI VIS AS VIS HARMONI ATAS ALAM: STUDI KRITIS PERSPEKTIF TEO-EKOLOGI ISLAM

    No full text
This article discusses academic issues related to the model of human domination over nature and its environmental impact, particularly in the context of the worldview of Islam. This model has led to rapid and severe environmental damage. The study employs a critical analysis method of textual and written materials, with an emphasis on understanding key Islamic concepts related to the relationship between humans and nature. The analysis aims to describe the dominant worldviews, such as anthropocentrism and the holistic ecological worldview within Islam. The research findings indicate a paradigm shift, transitioning from an organic and spiritual view of nature before 1500 to a mechanistic vision that seeks to control nature thereafter. In the context of Islamic ecology, nature is considered a comprehensive unity and not merely an exploitable object. This article fills a gap in previous research by focusing on the Islamic perspective on nature. We connect this perspective with predominantly Muslim countries' current practices and environmental policies. Furthermore, we compare the Islamic perspective with other paradigms such as ecocentrism and biocentrism, offering policy recommendations to integrate the Islamic perspective on nature into environmental conservation efforts. Islam offers a distinct worldview that emphasizes the relationship between humans and nature and their responsibility to preserve it as an act of obedience to the Creator. Therefore, Islam has the potential to provide solutions to current ecological challenges

TAFSIR SUFISTIK DALAM SIRAH NABAWIYAH: Analisis Teks al-Syifā’ karya al-Qāḍī Iyāḍ

    No full text
This study aims to analyze Sufistic interpretations in Sīrah Nabawīyah from the book al-Syifā' by al-Qāḍī ’Iyāḍ. The focus of the study is on the interpretation of the Qur'anic verses on the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad. This study is important because it reveals the Sufistic dimension that has received less attention in research on the interpretation and narration of Sīrah in al-Syifā'. The research method is qualitative based on a literature study, with data collection techniques through primary text analysis, namely al-Syifā' and secondary in the form of several Sufi tafsir books, as well as various authoritative books and articles. The findings of this study include: (1) al-Qāḍī ‘Iyāḍ not only quotes the Sufi interpretations of Sufi commentators such as al-Tustarī, al-Sulamī, al-Samarqandī, but also actively organizes them with the bi al-ma'ṡūr approach and the isyārī and naẓarī methods so that readers can directly receive the Sufistic meaning of the Sīrah through the narration of al-Syifā’. (2) Thus, al-Syifā' becomes an essential representation of the integration between normative and Sufistic interpretive traditions and enriches the discourse of Sufistic interpretation in the study of the Prophetic Sīrah, especially in the context of classical interpretation

    Get PDF
This study examines innovations in productive waqf management by nāẓīrs of Islamic community organizations to enhance economic welfare. Using a qualitative field research approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of waqf practices in Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in Banyumas. Analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to identify management patterns, challenges, and innovation opportunities. Findings highlight the need for digitalization, capacity building, and regulatory reform to optimize productive waqf. Key innovations include the use of digital records to enhance transparency and security in transactions, enabling permanent documentation of fund receipts, investments, and benefit distribution. Integration with the Waqf Information System (SIMSIWAK) facilitates real-time asset monitoring, while smart contracts ensure automatic and targeted fund distribution. However, challenges such as limited digital infrastructure and regulatory gaps persist. Strengthening collaboration between nāẓīrs, Islamic financial institutions, and government bodies is crucial to overcoming these barriers. Digital applications can significantly improve management efficiency, transparency, and community engagement, but building a sustainable waqf ecosystem will require continued investment in infrastructure and regulatory understanding

    Get PDF
Qur'anic waqf, as a form of social and spiritual philanthropy, plays a vital role in supporting religious literacy and social welfare. However, its operational management faces significant challenges, including distribution errors, lack of transparency, and maintaining public trust, which can hinder its effectiveness in serving beneficiaries. This study examines the application of the Waqf Core Principles (WCP) framework in managing operational risks at the Solo Qur'anic Waqf Board (BWA). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research collects data through direct observations and in-depth interviews with the branch manager of BWA Solo. The findings indicate that BWA Solo has successfully implemented key WCP principles, particularly in ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and equitable waqf distribution. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including inconsistencies in risk management and potential mismanagement. Moreover, the increasing complexity of waqf operations, driven by digitalization, necessitates continuous improvements in governance and security measures. This study highlights the crucial role of WCP in strengthening the operational efficiency and credibility of waqf institutions. The research also suggests enhancing risk mitigation strategies by leveraging technology, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to improve monitoring and reporting mechanisms. By addressing these challenges, waqf institutions can enhance their sustainability and societal impact, fostering greater trust and participation in waqf-based initiatives

THE NECESSITY OF ALTERNATIVE HISTORY ON GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AS CATHARSIS IN ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD (2019) MOVIE

    Get PDF
The depiction of graphic violence in movies is still quite debatable, whether it was necessary enough to be shown as they were believed to affect others to commit real-life violence. Quentin Tarantino, a movie director who grew up enjoying western, exploitation, and action movie genres, did not find any problem applying such elements as he believed it was nothing but one of the entertainment elements in movies. Being famous for his action-revenge movies, Tarantino once again proved to the audience how graphic violence can be one of the necessary aspects to be infused as a catharsis element through an alternative history narrative within his non-action-crime nor action-revenge genre movie under the title of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019). To justify the graphic violence as catharsis through the audience's perspective, the writer applied the alternative history narrative theory and collected the data in the form of movie reviews on the Letterboxd website and comments on the YouTube website through qualitative content analysis. The results show how audiences justify the application of graphic violence through an alternative history narrative as a catharsis element that Tarantino adjusted

    Get PDF
Creating a language-rich environment (Bi’ah Lughawiyah) is essential in Islamic schools to foster authentic and communicative Arabic use, bridging the gap between theoretical instruction and real-life language practice. This study aims to describe how Bi’ah Lughawiyah was implemented to improve Arabic speaking skills (Maharah Kalam) among students at Muhammadiyah Plus Junior High School, Salatiga. This qualitative case study employed thematic analysis following Braun & Clarke, with data collected via observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Findings show that structured Arabic language programs such as Yaum al-‘Araby, Kampung Arab, Zaawiyatu al-Lughah, and the High Achievers Program (SB) significantly enhanced students’ willingness to speak Arabic, improved their vocabulary retention, and stimulated active participation in speech activities and competitions. These practices created a rich linguistic environment that fostered daily Arabic usage across formal and informal contexts. Theoretically, this study affirms the role of language-rich environments in promoting communicative competence. Practically, the habituation model offers a replicable framework for Islamic schools to cultivate authentic Arabic-speaking ecosystems, bridging classical language acquisition strategies with contemporary pedagogical approaches
