PRINSIP-PRINSIP EKONOMI ISLAM DALAM SIMBOL WARAK NGENDHOG PERSPEKTIF HERMENEUTIKA DILTHEY
This research aims to explore the meaning of the warak ngendhog symbol through Dilthey's hermeneutics and its relevance to Islamic economic principles. The method chosen in this research is qualitative with field studies. Data were collected through interviews, non-participatory observation and documentation, then analyzed using Wilhelm Dilthey's hermeneutics through three aspects: experience (erlebniz), expression (ausdruck), and deep understanding (verstehen). The results are then connected descriptively with the principles of Islamic economics. The research findings are that the Warak Ngendhog symbol contains religious, social, aesthetic and political values. According to Dilthey's hermeneutics, every series of dugderan including the Warak Ngendhog symbol provides an experience of the historicity of the tradition, expression, and understanding of the culture. Furthermore, in the context of Islamic economic principles, Warak Ngendhog reflects the value of tawhid through the unity of cultural diversity, the principle of justice ('adl) in socio-economic activities, the principle of nubuwwah (sidiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah), describing the role of khilafah in the management of a just economy and ma'ad as a spiritual awareness of the blessing and accountability of charity. This tradition serves as a cultural preservation and Islamic economic education media that integrates social, religious, and economic aspects in the lives of the people of Semarang city
The Impact of Prison Overcrowding on the Rights and Well-being of Inmates in Indonesia: A Legal Perspective
Overcrowding in detention centers remains a critical issue within Indonesia's criminal justice system, particularly due to its detrimental impact on the fulfillment of prisoners' basic rights. This study aims to examine how the rights of inmates are upheld at the Class IIB Boyolali Penitentiary under overcrowded conditions and to identify the key obstacles encountered in the process. Employing an empirical juridical method with a qualitative approach, the research was conducted through interviews, observations, and the analysis of relevant legal documents. The findings reveal that, despite the overcrowded environment, efforts are still made to uphold fundamental prisoner rights, including access to healthcare, adequate nutrition, religious practices, legal aid, and family communication. However, the fulfillment of these rights is hindered by limitations in infrastructure, budget, and human resources. The study concludes that enhancing the effectiveness of alternative sentencing policies and improving prison management systems are essential to ensuring the optimal protection of prisoners' rights
Unveiling the Power of Good Corporate Governance: The Key to Effective Zakat Administration
This study aims to comprehensively analyze the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in zakat administration to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency. As a country with a majority Muslim population, Indonesia has vast zakat potential, requiring professional management by zakat institutions. This research employs a qualitative methodology with a grounded theory approach to understand the complexities of zakat governance from a contextual perspective. The findings indicate that implementing GCG principles such as transparency, accountability, trustworthiness, responsibility, and fairnessis crucial for optimizing zakat management. Proper governance ensures that zakat institutions fulfill their obligations to both zakat payers (muzakki) and beneficiaries (mustahik). However, challenges such as weak supervision systems and potential misuse of zakat funds necessitate a structured governance framework. Thus, effective zakat administration should not rely solely on goodwill but must be supported by strong governance mechanisms to maximize social and economic impact
Utilizing the YouTube Channel “Jago Bahasa Indonesia” to Improve Indonesian Language Skills
The rapid advancement of technology and information has brought various innovations to the field of education, one of which is the utilization of digital media such as YouTube as a learning platform. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the YouTube channel "Jago Bahasa Indonesia" as an instructional medium to enhance university students’ Indonesian language skills. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through written questionnaires distributed to 21 students, who were randomly selected and had engaged with the learning content from the channel. The primary data source in this study consists of student responses concerning their comprehension, interest, and the perceived impact of the channel on their language proficiency. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation by comparing responses and supporting them with relevant theoretical references. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques, identifying patterns, themes, and tendencies within the qualitative data. The findings show that 95.2% of respondents found the content easy to understand, with the most favored type being daily language tips (33.3%). Appropriate video duration, high-quality visuals and audio, and relevant material presentation contributed to the effectiveness of the learning. These results indicate that the "Jago Bahasa Indonesia" channel is an effective, flexible, and engaging learning medium that encourages students' creativity and interest in learning the Indonesian language.
Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi yang pesat telah menghadirkan berbagai inovasi dalam dunia pendidikan, salah satunya melalui pemanfaatan media digital seperti YouTube sebagai sarana pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan kanal YouTube "Jago Bahasa Indonesia" sebagai media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner tertulis yang dibagikan kepada 21 mahasiswa sebagai responden, yang dipilih secara acak dan telah mengikuti materi pembelajaran dari kanal tersebut. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai pemahaman, minat, serta dampak pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan berbahasa mereka. Teknik keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi sumber dengan membandingkan berbagai jawaban responden dan mendukungnya dengan teori relevan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis konten, yaitu mengidentifikasi pola, tema, dan kecenderungan yang muncul dari data kualitatif yang terkumpul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 95,2% responden menilai konten kanal mudah dipahami, dengan jenis konten paling diminati berupa tips bahasa sehari-hari (33,3%). Faktor-faktor seperti durasi video yang sesuai, kualitas visual dan audio yang baik, serta penyajian materi yang relevan turut mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kanal "Jago Bahasa Indonesia" mampu menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif, fleksibel, dan menarik, sekaligus mendorong kreativitas serta minat mahasiswa dalam mempelajari Bahasa Indonesia
Teun A. van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis of the Film Budi Pekerti
This study aims to analyze the film Budi Pekerti (2023) directed by Wregas Bhanuteja using Teun A. van Dijk’s critical discourse analysis approach. The background of this research is based on the importance of understanding morality and the influence of social media in contemporary society, particularly within the contexts of education and family. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, focusing on three levels of discourse structure: macrostructure, superstructure, and microstructure. The findings indicate that Budi Pekerti not only conveys messages of personal ethics but also critiques the social system that reinforces prejudice and stereotypes through media discourse. The study reveals that public perception of individuals is heavily shaped by the dynamics of public opinion constructed through digital media. Thus, the film contributes to a broader understanding of the importance of media literacy and social empathy.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis film Budi Pekerti (2023) karya Wregas Bhanuteja dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. van Dijk. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilandasi oleh pentingnya pemaknaan moralitas dan pengaruh media sosial dalam kehidupan masyarakat modern, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan dan keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan fokus pada tiga struktur wacana, yaitu struktur makro, suprastruktur, dan struktur mikro. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa film Budi Pekerti tidak hanya menyampaikan pesan etika personal, tetapi juga mengkritik sistem sosial yang memperkuat prasangka dan stereotip melalui konstruksi wacana media. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa persepsi masyarakat terhadap individu sangat dipengaruhi oleh dinamika opini publik yang terbentuk melalui media digital. Dengan demikian, film ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya literasi media dan empati sosial
Sultanah Aceh: Narasi Ulang Kepemimpinan Perempuan Dalam Historiografi Islam Nusantara
Penelitian ini bertujuan merekonstruksi narasi kepemimpinan perempuan dalam historiografi Islam Nusantara melalui kajian mendalam terhadap fenomena unik empat Sultanah di Kesultanan Aceh Darussalam pada abad ke-17. Di tengah dominasi sistem patriarkal, kemunculan pemimpin perempuan tertinggi ini memicu respons internal dan eksternal yang signifikan. Dengan pendekatan historis-kritis dan analisis historiografi, serta ditopang oleh teori kepemimpinan untuk menelaah dinamika kekuasaan, penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana para Sultanah menavigasi kompleksitas politik dan agama berdasarkan sumber-sumber primer naskah klasik, catatan perjalanan dan kajian akademik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pengesahan keagamaan oleh ulama terkemuka mencerminkan adaptasi hukum Islam terhadap situasi politik, dan bahwa kualitas kepemimpinan para Sultanah tidak bergantung pada gender, melainkan pada kapasitas intelektual dan manajerial. Para Sultanah berhasil menjaga stabilitas, memajukan ilmu pengetahuan, dan mengimplementasikan sistem pemerintahan khas Aceh. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa warisan kepemimpinan Sultanah Aceh memberikan legitimasi historis bagi keterlibatan perempuan dalam ranah publik masa kini, sekaligus menawarkan fleksibilitas penafsiran syariat sebagai kerangka metodologis untuk wacana kepemimpinan perempuan dalam Islam modern

Development of Science Student Worksheet with STEAM Approach with Local Papuan Flora Content at Al-Jihad Elementary School, Sorong City: Pengembangan Lembar Kerja Siswa IPA dengan Pendekatan STEAM Bermuatan Flora Lokal Papua di SD Al-Jihad Kota Sorong
This study focuses on the low availability of integrated teaching materials with the STEAM approach and Papuan local wisdom content in science learning. The purpose of the study was to produce a product in the form of a student worksheet with a STEAM approach, containing local Papuan flora in science learning, to determine the feasibility of a student worksheet with a STEAM approach containing local Papuan flora, and to determine the responses of teachers and students to the student worksheet. The researcher used the 4D model research and development (R&D) method with four stages, including 1) define, 2) design, 3) develop, and 4) disseminate. The validation results by material experts showed that the student worksheet, with a STEAM approach containing local Papuan flora, got an average score of 89% in the category (Very Valid). The validation results by media experts showed an average score of 92% in the category (Very Valid). The results of the field practitioner trial showed a value of 92%, which was included in the category (Very Practical). In comparison, the results of the group and field tests reached 88% in the category (Very Practical). Thus, the developed student worksheet has proven valid and practical for science learning. It is hoped that developing this student worksheet can strengthen students' understanding of science material and increase interest in learning through connections with the surrounding environment
“Profesionalisme Mahasiswi PAI dalam Membentuk Karakter Religius Siswa: Studi Kualitatif di SMP IT Al Munadi Medan”
The formation of students’ religious character is a fundamental pillar in Islamic education. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students, as prospective educators, hold a strategic role in this process. This study examines the early professionalism of female students in the PAI program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, who concurrently serve as teachers at SMP IT Al Munadi Medan, and its impact on shaping students' religious character. Employing a qualitative case study method, data were collected primarily through in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that the students demonstrate high dedication and effective time management in balancing their dual roles as students and teachers. They actively organize and lead religious activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’anic recitations (tadarus), and Islamic holiday commemorations, which significantly contribute to enhancing students’ spirituality, discipline, and moral behavior. This study emphasizes that consistent habituation and exemplary conduct are key to the deep internalization of Islamic values. The results highlight the crucial role of hands-on teaching practice in developing both professionalism and the religious character of prospective educators during their academic journey.
Pembentukan karakter religius siswa merupakan salah satu pilar utama dalam pendidikan Islam. Mahasiswa PAI sebagai calon pendidik memiliki peran strategis. Penelitian ini mengkaji profesionalisme mahasiswi Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara yang sekaligus berperan sebagai guru di SMP IT Al Munadi Medan, serta dampaknya terhadap pembentukan karakter religius siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswi tersebut mampu menunjukkan dedikasi tinggi dan manajemen waktu yang efektif dalam menjalankan peran ganda sebagai mahasiswa dan guru. Ia aktif mengorganisasi dan memimpin kegiatan keagamaan seperti salat berjamaah, tadarus Al-Qur’an, dan peringatan hari besar Islam yang berkontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan spiritualitas, kedisiplinan, dan perilaku moral siswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pembiasaan dan keteladanan yang konsisten menjadi kunci internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam secara mendalam. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pengalaman praktik mengajar langsung dalam membentuk profesionalisme dan karakter religius calon pendidik selama masa studi
The emergent role of artificial intelligence in Mathematics education: Examining students’ acceptance and perception
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being integrated into education, offering new opportunities for enhancing learning, especially in challenging subjects like mathematics. However, there is limited research on how students perceive and accept AI in mathematics education, particularly in the context of Indonesian higher education. This study aims to explore mathematics education students’ acceptance and perceptions of AI tools in enhancing their learning experience. Using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, the study employed a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) questionnaire for quantitative data and in-depth semi-structured interviews to gather qualitative insights. The participants were 389 mathematic students from several universities in Surakarta municipality, Indonesia based on non-probability sampling technique through sampling quota. The results show that students generally perceive AI as useful and easy to use, with high scores for Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEU). AI was appreciated for its ability to provide personalized learning, immediate feedback, and flexibility. However, students' Behavioral Intention to Use (BIU) AI was lower, indicating hesitation toward integrating AI regularly into their learning routines. The findings highlight that while AI has the potential to enhance learning, students still value traditional face-to-face interactions with instructors and are concerned about over-reliance on technology. The study contributes to theoretical framework that AI tools should complement, not replace, traditional teaching methods. Practically, the integration of AI in education should be gradual, with adequate support for both students and instructors. Future research should explore long-term adoption and investigate the role of educational policies in supporting AI integration
“Leading without a map”: The impact of non-managerial academic heads on educational leadership
This study investigated the leadership of academic heads who assume leadership roles without formal training or backgrounds in management. This study addresses this gap by exploring how such individuals navigate the demands of academic leadership within a private educational institution in the Philippines. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research focused on three academic heads from various departments in a single private school who lacked formal managerial education or training. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews and thematic analysis was employed to capture their lived experiences. The findings of the study revealed the following: (1) performance in the academic management were leading with passionate desire, obedience to the protocol, and tapping the people; (2) perceived challenges and coping mechanisms were learning the strategies on teaching-learning through trainings, countering the teachers’ limitations through further education and professional development, and eradicating self-doubt with prayer and constant communication; (3) relationship to the faculty and staff were through open communication, recognition, and collaboration; (4) leadership styles and strategies were trust and communication, laissez-faire, and treating the faculty with inherent value; (5) ways in adapting to the changing educational landscape were enhanced flexibility and collaboration. The findings of this study contributed to the understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by academic heads with non-managerial educational backgrounds as they navigate their way into academic management
