“A bottom-up approach to transcultural identities: Petra and women detectives in Italian TV crime drama”
In her The TV Crime Drama, Turnbull (The TV Crime Drama. Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2014) argues that “the portrayal of women in the crime drama series has served as an index of women’s changing role in society while providing a catalyst for debate, both in the popular press and in the field of feminist media studies”. Moving from these premises, our aim is to analyse the Italian series Petra (Sky 2020–) within the larger context of contemporary European TV crime productions, to investigate the recurrences, similarities, and differences in the construction, representation, and consumption of TV female detectives, through a conceptualization of what has been called “mediated cultural encounters” (Bondebjerg et al. Transnational European Television Drama: Production, Genres and Audiences. Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). We consider Rosi Braidotti’s claim of the necessity of a “post nationalistic understanding of cultural identity” (2001) as a framework of analysis for the inter-related issues of gender, multiculturalism, and European identities
Atti del Convegno Internazionale di Studi Storici sui Servizi Informativi Militari Italiani (Modena, Accademia Militare 26-27 novembre 2019). Ediz. italiana e inglese
Mapping design-driven processes for the regeneration of small fortified towns in inland areas
The contribution aims to focus on and deal with a methodology of mapping, typifying and cataloguing selected design interventions based on the impacts that the various design disciplines are or have been able to induce at different scales of action in the contexts of small fortified towns, constituting the primary settlement cores of the so-called inland areas. The main keys of research, filing and reading chosen for mapping allow the infographic schematisation of study in a Cartesian diagram based on two primary axes. The taxonomy, developed and adopted by the Design Research Unit of the University of San Marino, identifies, distributes and classifies numerous case studies according to two essential relational variables between human beings, communities and places: the time of permanence and the level of interaction and involvement with the areas
Participatory flows. A comparative analysis of co-design processes in the field of cultural heritage
This paper intends to explore co-design processes in the field of cultural heritage, based on an examination of the scientific literature and a comparative analysis of case studies. These cases, which involve different interlocutors, contexts of application, tools and output, are expressed not only in a discursive manner, but also represented in diagrams and visual syntheses of the co-design processes. The analysis was conducted on the basis of shared parameters: project description, year, partners, goals, context, co-design process, stakeholders and output. Starting with a consideration of the key concepts that emerged in the processes under investigation, the paper moves on to present the “MEET – Multifaceted Experiences for Enhancing Territories” project, which relies on the tools of design to enhance elements of the local culture and involve the community. It concludes by identifying good practices and the potential of co-design processes applied to the field of cultural heritage
