Oralità e scrittura nel Contro Apione di Flavio Giuseppe

    No full text

Natural Frequency Analysis of Functionally Graded Orthotropic Cross-Ply Plates Based on the Finite Element Method

    No full text
This paper aims to present a finite element (FE) formulation for the study of the natural frequencies of functionally graded orthotropic laminated plates characterized by cross-ply layups. A nine-node Lagrange element is considered for this purpose. The main novelty of the research is the modelling of the reinforcing fibers of the orthotropic layers assuming a non-uniform distribution in the thickness direction. The Halpin–Tsai approach is employed to define the overall mechanical properties of the composite layers starting from the features of the two constituents (fiber and epoxy resin). Several functions are introduced to describe the dependency on the thickness coordinate of their volume fraction. The analyses are carried out in the theoretical framework provided by the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) for laminated thick plates. Nevertheless, the same approach is used to deal with the vibration analysis of thin plates, neglecting the shear stiffness of the structure. This objective is achieved by properly choosing the value of the shear correction factor, without any modification in the formulation. The results prove that the dynamic response of thin and thick plates, in terms of natural frequencies and mode shapes, is affected by the non-uniform placement of the fibers along the thickness direction

Economic evaluation of scenarios of food waste recovery in reverse logistics

    No full text
The present paper builds upon the study by Bottani et al. (2018a). This previous work developed a routing and location (R&L) model under Microsoft ExcelTM to compute the cost of the resulting reverse logistics channel. Exploiting the same R&L model, in the study developed by Bottani et al. (2018b), the authors investigated four different configurations for the reverse logistics network of food waste. This study tries to explore additional scenarios for the efficient functioning of the reverse logistics channel. In particular, constraints on the maximum number of retail stores (RSs) that can be visited per day if only one truck would be available to retrieve the wasted food from the RSs are added. The results provided in this study are compared with those resulting from the previous papers developed by the same authors. In particular, in the outcomes of this study, the number of RSs visited daily is significantly lower; moreover, the total cost of the reverse logistics channel increases progressively with the decrease in the number of RSs. Results of this paper complement the findings of the previous researches and allow deriving further useful considerations about the profitability of a reverse logistics channel for food waste recovery in the Emilia-Romagna region. In addition, a similar evaluation can be easily extended to different regions or states

“Design for migration”, metodologie di progetto per l'innovazione sociale

    No full text
The present paper describes how a product design Course can approach the issue of migration, starting from the analysis of the main stages of the journey that refugees have to do, from the departure to the arrival, to the period they spend in the hosting country. The article focuses, in particular, on the examination of two design methodologies: lateral thinking and design thinking, both used throughout the project. In support of the explanation of methodological theories, two of the seven projects born within the Course will be illustrated: Grab.m and and Kala. The firs one focused on the theme of the see crossing, the second one on the topic of cultural integration

La pedagogia speciale tra sguardi filosofici e pratiche metodologiche: prospettive emancipatorie

    No full text
The evolution of the theoretical framework of special pedagogy has led to the definition of a complex construct characterized by interdisciplinary intertwining, subject to theoretical interpretationsof different nature including the philosophical one. The adoption of an inclusive educational perspective continues to require a reflection that is actually open to the suggestion of human rights,as a pivot of inclusion. This vision finds correspondence in the thought of philosophers such as A.Sen and M. Nussbaum who, through the capability approach, have provided a theoretical framework that frames disability in the broader spectrum of human development. The contribution intends to reflect on the possible and potential trajectories that the presented philosophicalperspectives can activate at a theoretical-methodological level: in particular, the approach of emancipatory research will deepened towards its full legitimation in the research areas of special pedagogy
