    Detecting facial image forgeries with transfer learning techniques

    Digital images have become ubiquitous in our daily lives, appearing on our smartphone screens and online websites. They are widely used in numerous industries, including media, forensic and criminal investigations, medicine, and more. The ease of access to consumer photo editing tools has made it simple to manipulate images. However, such altered images pose a serious risk in fields where image authenticity is crucial, making it challenging to confirm the reliability of digital images. Digital image fraud involves altering an image's meaning without leaving any obvious signs. In this study, we present three convolutional neural network-based transfer learning techniques “CNN” classification of facial image forgeries, using VGG-19, InceptionV3, and DenseNet201. Among these methods, DenseNet201 achieved the highest accuracy of 99%, followed by InceptionV3 at 94% and VGG-19 at 84%

    Statistical analysis of agarwood oil chemical compound exists in four species of Aquilaria

    Aquilaria, renowned for its agarwood, and valued for its aromatic wood and rich resin, finds use in cosmetics, fragrances, incense, and medicine. Identifying the agarwood-producing species among 21 species of Aquilaria is challenging. This study analyzes chemical compounds in agarwood oil from 4 Aquilaria species: Aquilaria beccariana, Aquilaria crassna, Aquilaria malaccensis, and Aquilaria subintegra using gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID). Statistical analysis explores compound abundance, employing methods like mean and Z-score tests. This analysis summarizes those 14 compounds that are consistently present based on zero and non-zero observations, and the Z-score test highlights five chemical compounds, with three compounds appearing in both analyses. These compounds can serve as a reference for future studies on Aquilaria species and agarwood oil, enhancing classification efforts

    Development of a primary reference material for the analysis of BTEX and chlorobenzenes in environmental samples

    Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) and chlorobenzenes are measured in all environments as part of world official pollution control programs. The health impact of these analytes increased the relevance of the validity and comparability of the measurement results. Therefore, equipment performance, implementation of test methods, and accuracy of results need to be verified through internal and external quality control programs. Herein, a new certified reference material (CRM) for benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene and 1,4-dichlorobenzene, and m, p-xylene has been produced and characterized by an approach that is metrologically valid and complies with ISO 17034:2016 and ISO 33405:2024 standards. The reference material was prepared gravimetrically and certified values were calculated based on masses of pure components. Homogeneity results proved that the between-ampule heterogeneity was negligible in comparison with the method precision. The stability of the material was evaluated for both long-term storage and dispatch and no measurable loss of analytes was observed within one year period. The developed certified reference material with small uncertainties values will support regulatory bodies, environmental protection agencies, and testing laboratories in their efforts to improve the quality of motoring results and compliance with regulations

    A review of 2.45 GHz microstrip patch antennas for wireless applications

    Recently, microstrip patch antennas have become popular. Due to their ubiquity, these antennas have more uses every day. In this research paper, a 2.45 GHz microstrip patch antenna has been reviewed and analyzed. Different substrate materials have been used to make these antennas, and their thickness is different. Various antennas are designed based on the application, such as rectangular, square, triangle, ring, donut, and dipole. Other types of software were used to design the antenna, including CST, HFSS, MATLAB, ADS, and FEKO. Microstrip patch antenna design is a relatively new field of study for wireless applications. Several devices are linked to send or receive radio waves using a single antenna. Antennas designed for 2.45 GHz are used in various wireless communication systems, including television broadcasts, microwave ovens, mobile phones, wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, global positioning system (GPS), and two-way radios. This article looks at the geometric structures of antennas, including their many parameters and materials and the many different shapes they can take. In addition, the substrate materials, the loss tangent, the thickness, the return loss, the bandwidth, the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), the gain, and the directivity of previous articles will also be discussed

    Signal processing for abnormalities estimation analysis

    Pneumonia, asthma, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and the most recent epidemic, COVID-19, are the most common lung diseases associated with respiratory difficulties. However, existing health monitoring systems use large and in-contact devices, which causes an uncomfortable experience. The difficulty in acquiring breathing signals for non-stationary individuals limits the use of ultra-wideband radar for breathing monitoring. This is due to ineffective signal clutter removal and body movement removal algorithms for collecting accurate breathing signals. This paper proposes a breathing signal analysis for non-contact physiological monitoring to improve quality of life. The radar-based sensors are used for collecting the breathing signal for each subject. The processed signal has been analyzed using continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and wavelet coherence with the Monte Carlo method. The finding shows that there is a significant difference between the three types of breathing patterns; normal, high, and slow. The findings may provide a comprehensive framework for processing and interpreting breathing signals, resulting in breakthroughs in respiratory healthcare, illness management, and overall well-being

To prevent transmission of COVID-19, an air purifier is needed whose function is to remove small droplets that can carry the virus. One of them is a medical device company located in Jakarta. The purpose of this research is to produce a design that can improve business processes in the health sector and achieve company goals. The current business process is not very optimal because it is still done conventionally and the existing system has not been integrated with other divisions. To achieve business goals, it is necessary to integrate business processes with information technology (IT) and technology development that will be proposed based on the design of information system architecture that will produce a blueprint and assisted by the open group architecture framework (TOGAF) framework which is very helpful in the process of analyzing company needs.     Privacy preserving lightweight authentication scheme for roaming service in global mobile networks

    The swift advancement of mobile intelligent terminals and services enables users to seamlessly access ubiquitous services across global mobile networks. Ensuring the authentication and safeguarding of the privacy of network entities is crucial. Numerous authentication and privacy schemes have been put forth over time, yet many of them have faced security and privacy challenges. A recent contribution introduces a lightweight authentication scheme (LAS) designed for roaming services within global mobile networks. They assert that their scheme offers user anonymity, mutual authentication, fair key agreement, and user-friendliness, claiming resilience against various attacks in global mobile networks. This paper, however, identifies two design flaws in the LAS and highlights its vulnerability to two masquerading attacks and a mobile user (MU) trace attack. Consequently, we propose a privacy-preserving LAS tailored for global mobile networks. Our analysis demonstrates that the proposed authentication scheme is secure and delivers enhanced privacy with efficient performance

    Bibliometric study of association rule-market basket analysis

    Association rule-market basket analysis (AR-MBA) is a data mining technique for finding distinguished relationship patterns from a collection of items. The application of AR-MBA is also increasingly widespread, starting from retail and hotels to hospitals. So, bibliometrics related to AR-MBA needs to be done to reveal what research opportunities can be later carried out by reviewing and analyzing publications about AR-MBA. 91 bibliographies in 1 decade from 2012-2022 were collected using Harzing's Publish or Perish (PoP). VOSviewer is also employed to map authorship and publication topic trends. This paper is innovative because it identifies trends and future research directions in data mining, specifically in association with AR-MBA. The findings show publication productivity, top authors, types of publications, annual topic trends within a decade, term distribution, most cited and most influential articles, and research gaps that can be opportunities for further research

    Evaluation of the time-of-use tariff responsiveness for plug-in electric vehicle home charging in Malaysia

    Plug-in electric vehicles (PEVS) have become increasingly popular as a viable transportation option as owners can charge them at home. This will add much energy to the house if the users charge their PEVs at home. The PEV charging load will lead to extra energy demand on the distribution network, and the users will need to pay more for electricity if they use the current domestic tariff in Malaysia. This research aims to analyze the PEV charging costs using time-of-use (ToU) tariffs with different time segmentations and price elasticity. The effect of four residential load profile patterns has also been investigated in Malaysia as a case study. Four PEV charging scenarios were created, and the charging times were set according to Malaysian driving styles, with charging times starting at 6 PM, 10 PM, and 9 AM. The PEV and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) are set to be homogeneous, and the EV was assumed to have a minimum state-of-charge of 20%. The main contribution of this paper is the selection of the ToU tariff segmentation, where the structure of the smallest time segmentation gave the lowest electricity bill per month compared to the Tenaga Malaysia Berhad (TNB) domestic tariff

    CHBMLI based DSTATCOM for power quality improvemt in a three-phase three-wire distribution system with PI controller

    This paper presents a cascaded h-bridge (CHB) multilevel inverter (MLI) based MLI based distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM). The main objective of this paper is to reduce source current harmonics in the distribution system by using a cascade H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHBMLI) as DSTATCOM with a proportional-integral (PI) controller. The PI controller compensates reactive power, reduces source current harmonics, and maintains the unity power factor in the distribution system. The conventional two-level inverter-based DSTATCOM has many disadvantages such as high total harmonic distortion (THD), and high switching stress power semi-conductor devices, suitable for only low-power applications. This paper to overcome these drawbacks by using MLI-based DSTATCOM. The proposed system simulations are verified in MATLAB/Simulink software.
