    A Study on Emotional Intelligence on the Decision Making by the Employees of Financial Institutions in India

    This study aims to illustrate the emotional intelligence effect upon the quality of decision-making infinancialinsinuation covered in major cities in India.Toachievetheobjectof this paper, two questionnaires were designed. The first one is made up of 24 parts that weigh theattitudes of the study samples, all of the data related to their self-understanding, self-management,social awareness, and social skills. The second questionnaire is made up of fourteen sections thatreflecttheevaluationofthesamplesinthestudyaboutthelevelofdecision-making.Thetwoquestioners were spread to 140 employees. The population of this paper is all the Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbaiemployeesin the financial institutions, and the sample is the employees of the Banks, foreign exchanges, Insurance companies and Broking firms.Afterconductingthestatisticalanalysis,thestudyshowsthatthereisaneffectofusingemotionalintellige nce with self-understanding, self-management,socialawareness, and social skillson thequalityof decision-makingamongthe employees

    A TABU SEARCH ALGORITHM FOR CLUSTER BUILDING IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

    The main challenge in wireless sensor network deployment pertains to optimizing energy consumption when collecting data from sensor nodes. This paper proposes a new centralized clustering method for a data collection mechanism in wireless sensor networks, which is based on network energy maps and Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements. The clustering problem is modelled as a hypergraph partitioning and its resolution is based on a tabu search heuristic. Our approach defines moves using largest size cliques in a feasibility cluster graph. Compared to other methods (CPLEX-based method, distributed method, simulated annealing-based method), the results show that our tabu search-based approach returns high-quality solutions in terms of cluster cost and execution time. As a result, this approach is suitable for handling network extensibility in a satisfactory manner. The study specifies a new centralized clustering mechanism equipped with energy maps and constrained by Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements. Such a clustering mechanism is used to collect data in sensor networks. The first original aspect of this investigation consists of adding these constraints to the clustering mechanism that helps the data collection algorithm in order to reduce energy consumption and provide applications with the information required without burdening them with unnecessary data

    : Research Projects and Degree Projects) is the latest video encoding standard that achieves much better compression efficiency compared to the earlier encoding standards. Satellite channels have a long round trip time (RTT) making it difficult to use packet acknowledgments. Real-time video streaming applications preclude such packet acknowledgments in satellite networks due to strict delay constraints. We propose acombined use of Turbo Coding (TC) and Network Coding (NC) techniques to achieve better video quality over the noisy satellite links using UDP at the transport layer. We evaluate the performance improvement of turbo network coding (TNCUDP) over thetraditional turbo-coded (TC-UDP) protocol for HEVC video streaming in satellite networks. The simulation results show that compared to TC-UDP, the proposed scheme achieves PSNR improvements ranging from 14-20 dB for poor channel conditions (1-2 dB) for the two selected video sequences.   &nbsp

    An Overview of Potential Threats to Freshwater Ecosystem

    Globally, only 3% constitutes freshwater. Major sources of inland freshwater are ponds, lakes, wetland and streams which also support a major portion of biodiversity. Studies have indicated it supports 10% of all known species. Urbanization, industrialization and agricultural activities primarily disturbing the aquatic ecosystem. Insecticides, herbicides and fungicides from agricultural fields, heavy metals from industries are major problems aquatic life facing with. Microplastic and nanoparticles has emerged as a new threat in water bodies. Encroachment of water body are responsible for declining ponds and lakes. Fragmentation acting as a barrier to movement of organism. 8o% of municipal wastewater is discharged into water bodies untreated carrying loads of chemicals. Recent papers have concluded that over exploitation, water pollution, flow modification, degradation of habitat and invasion of exotic species has reduced the number of freshwater species. Eutrophication of smaller water bodies has degraded water quality. Excessive sedimentation due to algal mat deposition, organic debris or allochthonous clastic sediment makes water bodies shallower followed by rooted macrophytes and other nearby plants leads to formation of swamps or the terrestrial vegetation. Anthropogenic Climate change has led to change in temperature and hydrological cycle which directly affect aquatic ecosystem. The qualitative and quantitative change in water bodies has resulted in decreased species richness and diversity. This review is summarizing some potential threats of freshwater which are responsible for its degradation and biodiversity loss

    Improvement of the Line Efficiency of a T-Shirt Manufacturing Unit Using Eight Waste of Lean Tool

    Lean manufacturing is a systematic approach accepted worldwide to improve a production system by identifying and eliminating wastes in the form of non-value-added activities through continuous supervision. As garment exports has been one of the major driving factors of Bangladesh’s economy, so improvement in garment manufacturing process has become need of the hour for emerging and sustaining as a global leader in this sector. This study focuses on the utilization of a lean tool to analyze the performance of each operator also identifying the lowest-performing operators and improving their performance thus increasing the efficiency and productivity of knitwear (t-shirt) manufacturing unit. This work has identified different problems regarding wastes and weaknesses of operators existing in the sewing section using 8 wastes of the lean tool. The work of each operator has been measured using work measurement tools such as time study and method study and measures were taken to resolve the issues that hindered the efficiency of that production line. After implementation of the lean tool and with the help of time study, the standard minute value of operations was reduced. Likewise, the non-value-added activities nonproductive time of operators were reduced, hence the operator’s performance and line efficiency were improved.This research was conducted to increase the productivity of a garment sewing unit using the lean tool so that this will help improve the operator’s performance and also have a positive impact on the overall t-shirt manufacturing process. &nbsp

    FLOOD ESTIMATE USING GIS SPECIFIC TO FLOOD STUDIES FOR UPPER SARADA RIVER BASIN IN VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA

    Geographical Information System (GIS) techniques have been effectively used for the study of drainages and estimation of runoff of a catchment. In this paper, the flood estimate of the Upper Sarada River Basin is analyzed using GIS techniques. The Upper Sarada River Basin is analyzed by building a Drainage Elevation Model and thereby extracting the drainage map. The runoff is estimated on this catchment by assuming unit net rainfall (1cm direct runoff) and taking appropriate assumptions. For this purpose, streams in a River Basin are assigned weights with respect to slope of the area and using the same, a travel time contour map represented by isochrones is developed from the equivalent distance map. The flow accumulation map of the drainages is also developed and then this is used to determine discharge at outlet of the catchment. The entire basin area is divided into eleven parts of equal interval of travel time and the yield caused in each part is determined. Further, this is used to determine the discharge at the end of eleven-time steps and the resulting unit hydrograph (UH) is plotted. UH is prepared for the daily average run-off values. An S-hydrograph is also plotted to obtain a UH of selected time duration for the use in flood estimate due to a storm. This hydrograph is validated by taking different selected storm events from the year 1990 to 2019, recorded by Central Water Commission (CWC), Anakapalle station. Eight storm events are observed and these are validated using Thiessen polygon method. &nbsp

    Molecular Screening & Influence of Cyp2C9*2 Variant with HHC in CVD Patients

    Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death globally. An estimated 17.3 million people died from CVDs in 2008, representing 30% of all global deaths. Different risk factors contribute to the development of CVDs, mainly high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes mellitus and physical inactivity. One of the risk factor is the elevated level of homocysteine in blood. Homocysteine accumulates in the body due to the improper working of biochemical transformation process, usually due to deficiency of an enzyme, MTHFR, caused by the mutation. Hyperhomocysteinemia (HHC) is a condition that leads to the development of many cardiovascular diseases due to its clot causing ability. For the metabolism of the drugs taken against cardiovascular diseases, CYP family works. One member of CYP2C family, CYP2C9, is responsible for metabolizing various anticoagulants (such as Warfarin), that are prescribed for thrombophilic condition in HHC patients. In current study it is hypothesized that metabolism by CYP2C9*2 variant of CYP2C9, may have association with elevated homocysteine level in cardiovascular patients. To analyze the association of CYP2C9*2 variant of CYP2C9 family with Hyperhomocysteinemia, DNA was extracted from blood samples. PCR, RFLP, was performed on selected HHC samples with AvaII restriction enzyme and analyzed on gel documentation system. Among the three genotypes, CC, CT and TT, only CC and CT were found in this study. . Calculated P value was 0.924 that was greater than standard P value (P = 0.05), indicating no significant association between CYP2C9*2 and Hyperhomocysteinemia. BMI was found to be a major risk factor associated with CVD’s (Mean BMI = 36.39). Allelic frequency of C was 0.86% and frequency of T allele was 0.13% in HHC patients. On the basis of significant results, we may say that in our selected population, no association of CYP2C9*2 variant with elevated homocysteine level in patients with cardiovascular diseases be existent. For further studies, any other variant of CYP2C9 may be analyzed for an association with elevated homocysteine

But some adsorbents like CAC and CAA require high investment. To avoid this problem bio-adsorbents used as adsorbents. Plant biomass like rice husk, sawdust, dried, leaves,bark,root,seeds, are used as a bio adsorbent which are show superior adsorption capacity towards dyes. Treated and untreated powder of dried leaves shows significant adsorption capacity for dyes.     EFFECT OF ROTATION AND THERMAL RADIATION ON MHD CONVECTIVE FLOW ALONG AN INFINITE VERTICAL POROUS PLATE WITH VARIABLE SUCTION AND HEAT ABSORPTION

    This paper deals with the study of the rotation and thermal radiation effects on MHD convective flow along an infinite vertical porous plate in presence of Hall current with variable suction and heat generation in a porous medium. A magnetic field of uniform strength is assumed to be applied in a direction normal to the porous plat . The equations governing the fluid flow are solved using the perturbation technique and the expressions for the velocity, the temperature and the concentration distributions have been obtained. Dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are displayed graphically for different values of the parameters entering into the problem like Prandtl number(Pr),Hartmann number(M), Grashof number(Gr), modified Grashof number(Gc),Hall parameter (m), Heat source parameter Schmidt number (Sc), rotation , porous medium k1 and thermal radiation . The profiles of the skin friction coefficient , rate of heat transfer and mass transfer at the plate are demonstrated graphically for various values of the physical parameters involved in the problem and the result are physically interpreted. &nbsp
