    HVAC System Operation: Enhancing Energy Efficiency and Reducing Costs

    A/C energy savings has recently emerged as a hot issue in practical energy research, with a focus on creative managementand effective OS usage. The primary goal of energy-efficient air conditioning system design is to provide thermal comfortwith lowest usage. When temperatures are high, the air conditioner is a major energy consumer. In order to achieve andmaintain the targeted degree of thermal comfort, it is crucial to have a well-thought-out air conditioning operating system.This study aims to provide a novel operating system architecture that can simulate and experiment with the thermalperformance of air conditioning systems for two similar residences in the Dhahran region of Saudi Arabia. Here, twodistinct HVAC operating systems were considered in developing the thermal model for the two homes. Several physicalfeatures and factors, including weather and heat gain/loss within the home, have been included in the study. To model theON/OFF and VFD controller systems for air conditioning, we utilize Matlab/Simulink software. In order to track weatherand power use in real time, the experimental effort makes use of the LabView platform, which has data collectingcapabilities

    With technological change, there is an additional scope for power management chip. Because of this there is an Erge need for buck converter. In this proposed paper the DC-DC converter is designed for 0.9v. The launch was done using a cadence tool with 90nm technology. Switches used by PMOS and NMOS design of the proposed system. The setting voltage given to the circuit is 1.8v and the output must be 0.9v. The down-to-earth converter is mainly designed for the provision of low power, personal computers, communications and medical electronics in the electronics industry. The input supply will vary and the output will be a DC controlled power supply

    “An evaluation of the causes of construction project delays in the urban areas of South Gujarat”

    In India, construction projects are facing major problems due to delays. These problems are harming economic success and development. The purpose of this study is to identify the most significant factors that cause delays in construction projects through a survey. A survey was carried out on the various stack holders of construction industries such as architects, engineers, owners, contractors, supervisors, and labours. Out of 30 reasons, 5 major factors are identified using the Relative Important Index (RII) method. The case study results suggest that the most critical factors are Poor monitoring and control, Rework due to errors during construction, High labour wages, Lack of communication with consultant/owner, and Shortage of labour. These findings are likely to contribute significantly to the Indian construction industry's control of project time and cost overrun. &nbsp

    IMPACT OF CRITICAL FACTORS ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

    The local construction industry is facing insurmountable challenges, which caused deterioration day by day. Almost most projects in India face difficulties to achieve the desired results. Many causative factors affect on planning, scheduling, and execution stage during the project life. Many countries have researched, to find out what is the prime cause of delay and cost overrun. Many approaches were added with time to identify and mitigate the root cause of such addressed issue but no one get success to quantify it appropriately. This reason is highly varying viz country to country, region to region. So, need the study thoroughly the condition to mitigate the effect of factors and avoid them. The purpose of this research is to identify and evaluate the critical factors causing an impact on the construction industry. Through a questionnaire survey, total 110 numbers of questionnaires were distributed to the stakeholders like government and private contractors, supervisors, site engineers, and architecture, 62 critical factors causing were identified and divided into five categories. The survey data was analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha for reliability check and utilizing the relative importance index (RII) for the ranking. The study found that the impact of the top ten ranking factors among 62 factors are (1) Late delivery and logistics of materials, (2) Continuous breakdown of     machinery, (3) Lack of experience (Consultant related), (4) Lack of modern equipment, (5) Fluctuation of construction materials prices, (6) Waste generation, (7) Low salary for engineers and construction workers, (8) Lack of experience, (9) Poor site management and supervision, (10) Poor financial control and management. These findings of the study will help to improve the existing status of the construction industry and to be used as a variable in future prediction models and management. &nbsp

    DEVELOPMENT OF A MACHINE AND DETECTION OF GLYCOALKALOIDS IN POTATO USING IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUE

    Glycoalkaloids are secondary natural poisonous metabolites produced by plants of the Solanaceae family. Glycoalkaloids from solanaceous plants vary depending on species. The two major glycoalkaloids found in potatoes are Solanine and chaconine. The average potato contains 0.075 mg of solanine and chaconine. The doses of 200–400 mg for adult humans and 20–40 mg for children can cause toxic symptoms to human health. Commercial potatoes have GA content of less than 0.2 mg. This research aimed at determining the total glycoalkaloid content present in potatoes using image processing technique. It is one of the non-destructive method and images can be stored and retrieved easily. Potatoes were collected from local markets in Coimbatore. The major components used in this machine are Raspberry Pi, web camera, Lcd module, memory card. The Raspberry pi is powered up with 5V power supply through USB cable. The Button interfaced with raspberry pi is triggered to capture the image from camera to classify the level of glycoalkaloids and display the result in LCD module. Through this glycoalkaloid detector the amount of glycoalkaloid present in the potatoes can be determined by both milligram and percentage values. It is a cost-effective method and ensures food safety.       &nbsp

    In vitro Studies on Singapore Daisy (Sphagneticola trilobata) and formulation of dip drink

    The leaves of Sphagneticola trilobata, a plant belonging to the Asteraceae family, are rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients. The leaf extract shows no sign of toxicity at levels less than 2500 mg and is considered as safe to consume. The phytochemical screening of compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, carbohydrates and tannins is studied. The leaves are analysed for its drying characteristics using Hot Air Oven at 163°C and is packed in Tea Filter Bags. The free radical scavenging activity is studied in-vitro by measuring DPPH. Antimicrobial activity against four microorganisms, Staphylococcus aureus, E.Coli, Yeast and mould and Salmonella, using agar well diffusion method was evaluated. Biochemical tests to determine the amount of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds and carbohydrates on the dried leaves were examined. The formulated product, Daisy Tea was analysed based on pH and acidity, bulk density, moisture content and ash content.   &nbsp
