CORRUPTION AND TOURISM DEMAND: EVIDENCE FROM THAILAND\u27S INBOUND TOURISM MARKET (2000–2019)
This research investigates the impact of corruption on tourism demand in Thailand through econometric analysis. By examining panel data from twenty primary source markets spanning the years 2000 to 2019. The findings demonstrate a significant association between improvements in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and an increase in tourist numbers. These results have substantial policy implications, suggesting that institutional reforms and the promotion of public participation aimed at reducing corruption could effectively enhance Thailand\u27s tourism sector and foster sustainable, long-term growth
BREAKING BOUNDARIES AND RESHAPING: AN EXPLORATION OF AESTHETIC COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
This study focuses on the challenges and strategies for cultivating aesthetic competence in university students in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Against the backdrop of AI profoundly influencing various domains of society, the field of education has also experienced significant impacts. To strengthen the study’s foundation, a mixed-methods research approach was adopted, combining a comprehensive literature review with qualitative case studies. Data were collected through expert interviews and surveys among university students to assess their engagement with AI in aesthetic learning. The paper elaborates on the defining characteristics of the AI era, analyzes the connotations and components of university students\u27 aesthetic competence, and explores the relationship between AI and the cultivation of aesthetic competence. The findings reveal that the development of aesthetic competence in university students faces challenges such as blurred and diversified aesthetic standards, limitations on creativity and imagination, and difficulties in aesthetic education. Specifically, AI-generated artworks have led to inconsistencies in defining artistic originality, and students often struggle to develop independent creative skills due to algorithmic recommendations that reinforce existing aesthetic preferences. In response to these challenges, the paper proposes strategies such as optimizing the aesthetic education curriculum, enhancing educators\u27 capabilities in aesthetic instruction, and fostering students\u27 autonomous aesthetic abilities. These recommendations aim to provide valuable insights for aesthetic education in higher education institutions, thereby promoting the enhancement of university students\u27 aesthetic competence and better preparing them to adapt to the demands of future societal development.

EVALUATING DEPENDENCY AND NEOCLASSICAL THEORIES IN EXPLAINING WEALTH INEQUALITIES THROUGH THE BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE (BRI) AND ANTI-DUMPING POLICY IN ASEAN COUNTRIES
This research examines the effects of the Belt and Road Initiative (2013) on ASEAN’s economy, uncovering complex regional reactions to international economic stimuli. Within ASEAN, there is heterogeneity regarding anti-trade defense measures; for instance, some countries implement anti-dumping strategies against Chinese imports while others remain completely unresponsive. The study exemplifies the clash between protecting local industries and promoting economic liberalism and shows how different ASEAN countries deal with the balance of big-picture policy decisions and on-the-ground economic realities, international relations, and differing levels of economic cooperation
A REVIEW OF ISLAMIC FINANCING OPTIONS FOR HALAL TOURISM MARKET DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA
Muslim’s tourists all over the world are exploring new destinations and seeking authentic, unique travel experiences that diverge from the ordinary. This desire for discovery has made Muslim travelers one of the fastest growing segments in the global travel industry and with the tourism sector in 2019 accounting for some 330 million jobs worldwide, equivalent to 10.3 per cent of total global employment and one in 10 jobs globally, where for every directly created tourism job, nearly one and a half additional jobs are created on an indirect or induced basis, there arises the need for other financing options to cater for such wide and increasing niche travelers. The study therefore, seeks to identify such halal tourism products in Nigeria, financing options, gestation and its efficacy in tourism development for the country likewise quantify its contributions to the economy vis a vis other niche tourism products offered. The study adopted a desk literature approach by systematically reviewing literatures on halal tourism products, Islamic finance options for tourism development, applicability of regulatory framework for halal tourism market in Nigeria while a cross tabular analysis of the finance instruments as used in some countries was also used with a view to making inferences of its applicability in Nigeria. Findings revealed that there is a huge market for halal tourism in Nigeria with varying range of products, instruments for Islamic financing of tourism are also available and are highly reliable being that fluctuating interest rates do not affect the tenure nor its maturity in the market. Though there is no official regulatory framework for the segment in place and the benefits accruable for the tourism ecosystem are immense for the country where the study thus recommended a government-led destination marketing through strengthening Halal food and travel services compliance ecosystem and launching of seed marketing campaigns such as innovative programs, creating joint promotions and fostering bilateral relationships with established Halal Tourism Markets like Malysia and Turkey
LEVERAGING ‘HALLYU’ MEDIA AND THE PHYSICAL: ASIA PHENOMENON TO REBRAND MONGOLIAN CULTURAL TOURISM
This article examines the transformation of Mongolia\u27s tourism strategy from the traditional focus on "heritage tourism" to a more contemporary "content-driven tourism" approach (Chung & Jeong, 2024). Although the Naadam Festival continues to be a central attraction, recent South Korean media productions filmed in or featuring Mongolia—such as "Crash Landing on You," "Strong Girl Nam-soon," and the anticipated 2025 success "Physical: Asia" Physical: Asia —have introduced a novel, high-value entry point for international tourists. (Domestic Tourism in Asia, 2009) By analyzing viewership data and the "underdog" narrative of Team Mongolia in "Physical: Asia," this paper posits that Mongolia is uniquely positioned to leverage "Strength Tourism," encouraging global travelers to observe and engage in physical training within its culture
FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND INCOME INEQUALITY IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN COUNTRIES
The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of financial development on income inequality in sub-Saharan Africa. Unlike previous work on African countries, we adopt a non-linear approach using the Panel Smooth Transition (PSTR) model. Our panel is composed of 17 sub-Saharan African countries with a period ranging from 1980 to 2018. Data were extracted from various sources. The results suggest an inverted U-shaped relationship between financial development and income inequality. Facilitating access to credit could enable historically marginalized segments of the population to participate fully in the economy. The non-linear inverted-U effect shows that increasing financial development can lead to greater equality. Furthermore, the significant effects of urbanization, economic growth and inflation on income inequality show that financial development measures need to be supported by good urban planning, sustained economic growth and inflation control
Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility on Green Market Product in Ethiopia Coffee Cooperatives
This study examines the relationship between corporate responsibility dimensions (ethical responsibility, economic responsibility, discretionary responsibility, and legal responsibility) and the adoption of green market products. The data were analyzed using a regression model, and the results revealed significant positive correlations between each responsibility dimension and the green market product variable. The regression analysis further demonstrated that the combined influence of these responsibility dimensions accounted for a substantial proportion (92.8%) of the variance in the adoption of green market products. The findings highlight the importance of corporate responsibility in promoting environmentally friendly products and suggest that higher levels of ethical, economic, discretionary, and legal responsibilities are associated with a greater emphasis on green market products. These insights contribute to the understanding of the factors influencing sustainable consumption and provide implications for businesses aiming to align their practices with environmental concerns. Future research could explore additional variables and investigate the mechanisms through which corporate responsibility translates into consumer behavior and market outcomes
