METAPHYSICAL MATERIALISM IN DIGITAL AGE: THE INTERSECTION OF SOCIAL MEDIA, ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY, AND TALISMANIC EWOM CONSUMPTION AMONG THAI MILLENNIAL
This study examines sociocultural determinants of talismanic acquisition and metaphysical beliefs. Using qualitative methodological frameworks, this investigation synthesizes rich ethnographic data to explain the complex interrelationships between digital socialization, consumer behavior, and supernatural belief systems in contemporary Thai society. The research makes use of rigorous content analysis to show the profound impact that virtual communities and social media ecosystems have had on cultivating and disseminating paranormal beliefs which consequently also steered electronic word-of-mouth dynamics as well as consumption patterns for apotropaic artifacts. The findings highlight the relationship between economics and traditional belief systems as evident in a rise in talismanic consumption among Thai youth thereby providing an insight into how supernatural materialism persists but at the same time transforms under late-stage capitalism and digital modernity. Furthermore, this paper adds value to academic discourse about the meeting grounds of traditional belief patterns as well as modern customer culture with particular reference to emerging digital spheres

TOWADS A COLLABORATIVE PLURAL LEGALISM IN CAMEROON: MODERN STATE JURISPRUDENCE AND CUSTOMARY LAWS FOR A SOCIAL CONTROL SYSTEM THAT TAKES SOCIOCULTURAL REALITIES INTO ACCOUNT
For the improvement of legal system and social control mechanisms that reflect social realities, this paper is a discussion about the type of legal pluralism to be put in place through a collaboration of the coexisting modern jurisprudence with customary laws in Cameroon. In other words, the author seeks to examine how Modern State Legal system could interact with Customary laws and Indigenous mechanisms of Social control for Peace and harmony in Cameroon. The research design is explorative, using qualitative method. A questionnaire, Interviews and Life stories were used for Primary data collection; 20 individuals between 35- and 70-Years Old were interviewed, also two Focus Groups Discussion were organized, from each of the four Main Cultural areas of Cameroon. Secondary data come from Documentary Research. Legal Pluralism and Cultural Hybridization Theories have been exploited to understand social facts. According to the results, Law is an element of culture which is dynamic; also as cultural element, Law and mechanisms of social control should be flexible and not static. When the situation in the society change, there should be an opportunity to adjust Laws and mechanisms of social control to the change that has occurred, to fit social realities. The coexistence of traditional laws and mechanisms of Social Control and Modern legal system, can lead to the emergence of a new form of Legal system but the importance lays in the efficiency in maintaining social Order. By using collaborative Legal pluralism, which is appropriate to socio cultural realities in Cameroon; because it is a context where both state and non-state justice exist, but non-state justice mechanisms operate under the umbrella of state authority. Weaknesses of one system can be overcome by the other one’s mechanism. The cultural hybridism can contribute to the trans formation and enrichment of culture. Cultural hybridization also brings challenges as the creation of power relations between cultures that could lead to the disappearance of certain cultures. Therefore, issue of cultural hybridization should be approach by taking into consideration both advantages and disadvantages. Cameroon is a multiethnic country, if the disadvantages are not taken into account there is a risk of homogenization and cultural assimilation instead of cultural diversity. The result hast also presented the Ghana’s pluralistic legal system as an example of collaborative legal pluralism to be copied in Cameroon. The legal system in Ghana is pluralistic, in that national legal system is based on the mixture of indigenous experiences, religious practices and imported legal experiences from the colonization. Customary laws and traditions are taken into account in fashioning the jurisprudence

AESTHETIC AWARENESS EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS IN VIETNAM IN THE CURRENT CONTEXT
Aesthetic education serves as a solid foundation for building a generation of Vietnamese students who are not only professionally competent but also spiritually enriched, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the nation. Aesthetic awareness refers to the human capacity to perceive beauty in connection with reality and human life. The cultivation of aesthetic awareness becomes critically important as it influences the beauty reflected in behavior, habits, lifestyle, and character. Providing aesthetic awareness education for students—the future owners of the country—is therefore essential and must be properly considered and evaluated in accordance with their position and role in practice. This paper clarifies the concept of students and aesthetic awareness education, and further discusses the role of aesthetic awareness education for students in the present context
A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS APPROACH TO COLLEGE ENGLISH TEACHING: BASED ON INITIATION–RESPONSE–FEEDBACK MODEL
This study investigates interaction patterns in College English classrooms through Sinclair and Coulthard’s Initiation–Response–Feedback (IRF) model. The analysis reveals that over 80% of classroom talk is initiated by teachers, with a strong preference for display questions and brief evaluative feedback. Student participation is limited, with few instances of student-initiated talk or extended responses. This interaction style restricts opportunities for critical thinking, authentic communication, and the development of communicative competence. To address these issues, the study recommends a shift toward referential questions, the use of formative and elaborative feedback, and the integration of student-centered activities such as group discussions and peer interaction. The current study also highlights the importance of teacher training in discourse strategies and institutional support, including smaller class sizes and improved assessment systems. These changes aim to foster a more dialogic and learner-centered classroom environment that supports students’ language proficiency, cognitive engagement, and autonomy
VALUE ADDED TAX AND HOUSEHOLD CONSUMPTION EXPENDITURE AMONG SELECTED ECOWAS COUNTRIES
The study examined the impact of Value Added Tax (VAT) on household consumption expenditure (HCE) in the selected ECOWAS countries (Nigeria, Ghana, and Cote d’Ivoire). This study employed several panel estimation techniques such as the Pooled Mean Group (PMG), Mean Group (MG) and Dynamic Fixed Effect (DFE) to investigate the impact of value added tax on household consumption expenditure in Nigeria, Ghana, and Cote d’Ivoire. The operational variables for this research work were value added tax, house hold consumption expenditure and per capita income as well as the inflation rate for the period 1994 – 2023. Data used for analysis were extracted from World Bank Development Indicators. Results showed that. The long-run effect of VAT on HCE is negative but statistically insignificant, indicating that VAT does not have a significant impact on household consumption expenditure in the long run. The study also showed a significant bidirectional causal relationship between VAT and HCE. This indicates that changes in VAT not only influence household consumption but that household consumption patterns also affect VAT revenues. Consequently, the study recommended that sustainable per capita income growth should be promoted as a top priority, as higher income levels directly lead to increased household consumption. Moreover, VAT policies need to be carefully calibrated to balance the need for government revenue generation with the potential adverse effects on household consumption

THE LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF VIRTUAL REALITY ON EMPATHY TOWARDS HOMELESS AND INTENTION TO HELP: THE MODERATING ROLE OF CAUSE INVOLVEMENT
In a context where virtual reality (VR) is emerging as a promising tool for fostering prosocial engagement, this study aimed to deepen our understanding of its lasting effects on empathic responses and intentions to help. The main objective was to examine the long-term effects of immersive VR (vs. non-immersive) on empathy and intention to help, while taking into account the level of personal involvement in the cause as a moderating variable. A laboratory experiment was performed with 153 students, collecting data at two time points: immediately after exposure to the virtual experience and three months later. The results reveal that the long-term effect of immersive VR on empathy is significantly stronger than that observed in the non-immersive VR condition. However, no significant difference was found in the intention to help between the two experimental conditions. Furthermore, the analyses show that empathy plays a complete mediating role in the long-term relationship between immersive VR (vs. non-immersive) and intention to help. Finally, the results highlight that cause-involvement positively moderates the relationship between empathy and intention to help: the more participants feel personally involved in the cause, the stronger the translation of empathy into intention to help
