Marketing-Driven Enhancements in Student Experience and Their Influence on University Reputation

Abstract: This study explores the effect of innovative marketing strategies on university reputation, with perceived value acting as a mediating variable, within the context of Universitas Negeri Makassar. A quantitative approach using structural equation modeling via Smart PLS was employed to examine four independent variables: brand positioning and image strategy, digital marketing strategy, gamified engagement tools, and student co-creation participation. Findings indicate that brand positioning and digital marketing significantly influence perceived value and university reputation. Meanwhile, gamified engagement and student co-creation primarily impact perceived value but do not directly affect reputation. Perceived value has a strong and statistically significant effect on university reputation, mediating the relationship between several marketing strategies and institutional reputation. The study underscores the strategic value of enhancing students' perceived educational value through student-centered marketing to build reputational capital. It contributes to higher education marketing literature and offers practical insights for university leaders aiming to strengthen institutional image

This study examines Islamic law on property ownership rights from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah) amidst economic inequality and the lack of a national Sharia-based property codification. The aim is to analyze the classification, causes, types, and management of assets for practical guidance. Using a qualitative normative approach through literature review, the population includes Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah) literature, with a purposive sample of 20-30 primary (Quran, hadith) and secondary (fiqh texts, journals 2021-2025) sources. Instruments in the form of Sharia documents were analyzed descriptively and analytically with triangulation and synthesis of the maqasid (maqasid) of Sharia. The results show that assets (al-mal) are a divine trust, etymologically human instincts and terminologically valuable assets to be owned and transacted, classified as private, public, state, protected by the daruriyyat (private), hajiyyat (private), and tahsiniyyat (private). Ownership arises from ihya' mawat (promise), legal contracts, inheritance, and business proceeds, with an emphasis on halal distribution such as zakat. In conclusion, sharia-based codification is needed to prevent exploitation and realize just prosperity

Financial Innovation and Sharia Governance: An Empirical Study of Cryptocurrencies and Traditional Banking Risk–Return Dynamics in Indonesia

This study investigates the risk–return dynamics of Bitcoin and Ethereum compared with traditional fixed-term bank deposits in Indonesia between 2020 and 2024. Using historical daily price data and interest rates, the research calculates annualized returns, volatility, and Sharpe Ratios to assess performance. Results show that cryptocurrencies offer extraordinary potential returns during bullish cycles but also suffer severe downturns, making them suitable only for high-risk, long-term investors. Bank deposits, in contrast, provide stable yet modest returns, reinforced by Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) guarantees. From a Sharia perspective, bank deposits are problematic due to their riba-based structure, while cryptocurrencies raise concerns over gharar and maysir. The study highlights the rise of Sharia-compliant alternatives such as sukuk and gold-backed digital currencies as ethical solutions. The contribution lies in bridging financial economics with Islamic governance by comparing conventional, digital, and Sharia instruments in the Indonesian context. Future research should extend to investor behavior, transaction costs, and the regulatory role of OJK and DSN-MUI in shaping Islamic fintech
